Took my 2018 toyota camry and they did and excellent job. They were fast and the price is fair

This is the only place I'll go for tint. The guy who works here has an accent so it can be a little tough to understand him over the phone but he's a nice guy and does excellent work. Highly recommend. read more

Very good customer service. They were quick to schedule me an appointment over the phone. Highly recommend.

I walk into the location today and no one is there. I wait for 10 minutes call around asking for people say hello and no one says anything. 5 minutes later total of 15 minutes some lady comes out of the bathroom saying that she is not open today. If you were not open today why was your door open and your signs on? Honestly felt like they were racist and just didn't want to work with me read more

This place is great, excellent customer service very clean pleasant well-kept office and waiting room. I have had 3 cars done here now and they have been exceptional. I highly recommend them and will continue to go there for my car tinting. read more

Not too sure if this is the same X-Shield I just went to.. only one on Yelp.com though... anyway, I went here to get my car tinted.... Place i went to is in Oceanside, 4083 Oceanside Blvd to be exact. Paid $119 for my 2009 Ford Focus SES 4 door. The guy said it was normally $149. Got all windows tinted @ 20%. This is my 4th car that I have had tints put on. I am from NY. Prices in the Bronx ran about $50 cheaper... Time it took to apply tints back home, maybe 25 minutes.. Shield-x Took almost 2 hours... Still Looks good but I feel it took way longer than it should.. Maybe the guys in NY are just nasty at tinting windows and bang them out super quick.. Either way, it was easy + came with warranty. I'd go back unless I found somewhere else cheaper but this was the first place I called and it was less than 3 miles from my house... 8.5/10 read more

I came here 3 times for tint in which they gave me a decent price. I attempted to come a 4th time and they tried to over charge me like no other. Their taillight tinting went from $40 to $200. Don't go here unless you want to get ripped off. read more

I got a called a lot of different tint shops and they all said I had to come in during the week however they all closed before I got off work. Shield-X was the only place that allowed me to come in same day. Their waiting area is very comfy and it didn't take long at all. Highly recommended read more

Amazing job here. Highly recommend this place. Will take my future vehicle here. Thank you guys taking care of my 2019 Honda Civic SI.

Can I give SIX stars to these guys??? They do hands down, the BEST window tint in the land. Plus, the gentleman that came to our restoration shop to do a windshield crack repair, was literally in and out like a speed bullet! Thanks for a job well done. Keep it up guys. read more

This was a wonderful place to go, not only did they finish in less than an hour they come with a lifetime warranty. They try and sell you on upgrading your tint as any other business will do however they're not pushy. I've recommended a few friends to use this place as this was not only my first choice but I plan to return here for any future vehicles of mine. Really check this place out and I promise you won't regret your decision. read more

This review pertains to Window Tinting only. I RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR WINDOW TINTING I was pleased with the tinting of my car windows that I had done for my Lexus CT200H. I read reviews from Encinitas to Oceanside and found only two locations that I considered. I called both and the price for one was $260 (fixed price).. The price from Shield-X was normally $250, but the owner provided me with a discounted winter quote of $200 for Suntek High Performance film. Or a choice to have the tinting done with a lower grade film for $180. I asked if I could choose the higher grade Suntek film for the price of $180, and the owner agreed. Upon arrival, the owner made sure I wanted to have the tinting done with the Suntek high performance film before they began the work. I recommend setting the appointment at a time where you can allow the tint tech spend as much time as he needs to install the tint film. He approximated the work would take 3 hours, and the job was done exactly 3 hours later. I recommend this place for window tinting. I checked the job in a detailed manner and could not find any flaws.. They also let me know that if I ever have any issues to please come back and they'll fix it for me. Last thing.. They places a sticker that says "do not roll down windows for 3-5 days).. This was a first for all the shops I've had tint my car windows.. All verbally told me how long to wait, but no body gave me a reminder to not to do so. Discount also on website. Google shield x oceanside read more

My daughter needed her rear window tint removed and replaced so I called around and got some competitive quotes that we usually in the ballpark of $150.00. I called one place in particular off Emerald in Vista and they started at $130.00 but by the time they finished upgrading me it was $195.00...So of course the competitor didn't get my business. Shield-x tinting Did an excellent job and only charged $99.00 for both removal and replacement!! This is by far the best deal around and they use a Good Quality Tint!! Very Pleased to say the least! I called ahead to get the quote and the lady I spoke to was very friendly and informative. She laid it all out on the table without having any hidden costs and was honest and up-front. Of course when you have a business that treats its customers well you can be honest and up-front! :) I highly recommend Shield-S Tinting! My daughter is very happy and so am I!! read more

Got all my windows tinted here. These guys are fast, efficient and affordable. I heard about this place from my parents cause they got their car done here too. They did all their windows at 35% and it looked great. So I decided to come here as I liked the results. I got 20% in the front and 5% on the back. It took about an hour. We came to pick it up and my parents liked it so much they decided to change theirs to the same percentages. Total time for each car was about an hours. read more

Fast Friendly. Fair pricing. Got it all my windows done. Including visor strip. At first I had an issue with the placement. I took it back a few days later. They corrected it. Informed me. Asked me if there was anything else they could do and got it done. Had WiFi and a super comfy couch to sit in while I waited. Highly recommend them and feel good to spend my money there. This is the place to go to if you need your car windshield replaced. A true Mom & Pop business, Shield-X has all the true pride in workmanship and great commitment to customer service you expect from a family owned shop, and none of the crazy and lazy technicians found at those large chain companies. Jae, the owner of the business is the consummate professional. I've made a lot of calls to get a quote for the windshield replacement. Shield-X was by far the most honest and reasonably priced quote I received. Plus, Jae's expertise was evident when I saw him work on my car. I watched as he meticulously removed my cracked windshield, making sure he got it cleanly out and then in detail, prepared and cleaned the new windshield for flawless installation. I'm a return customer and drove 30 miles to get here and it was totally worth it. The first time, Jae sent out two technicians to our house to replace a large windshield in our SUV. They were both courteous and polite, and was done in about an hour. They are still willing to do mobile service, but my recommendation is to bring your car to them. Even doing a pretty brisk business, Jae got me in and out in less time it took for me to drive to their shop. Tip: Call them first to let them know the year, make and model of your car. To be sure they get the exact fit for your car, you may even want to give them your VIN. That way they can order the correct replacement windshield and have it waiting for you when you arrive. read more

I was able to get a same day appointment (weekday) to get tint on the rear windows of my Ford Fusion. They helped me select a 5% tint and showed me examples. Job was clean and film has cured nicely. I wanted the rear windows tinted to keep the sun off the baby and so far I am extremely happy with the job. Note that you will not be able to roll down the windows for a few days and the film itself was pretty smelly- I kept my sunroof open those first few days. read more

I called twice to get a quote from this place. The first time I was quoted the gentleman over the phone asked me for my specific make, model, and year. I was then quoted $200. Second time I call, another gentleman answered and I also gave him the same information make, model, and year. This time he quotes me $220 and I told him that last time I called I was quoted $200. He says okay and then tells me its $200. I go there the next day and the worker at the front desk tells me the window tinting starts at $250 for the standard package, $300 for the next package up, and $350 for the highest. I told him I spoke with 2 different people on the phone and he starts trying to make a deal for $220. This business is either full of liars or people that don't know they are doing. I'm sure they pull this crap all the time where they give you a price on the phone to reel you in then change it once you finally get there. The only reason why this place isn't getting 1 star is because the gentleman that we spoke to at the store wasn't rude. read more

Terrible experience. My windows were redone three times and they looked decent with the last attempt. I waited three additional hours and still felt like I wasn't satisfied with the job done. The place is lifetime warranty but the worker was not really willing to fix the visible damage on the tint. They left dirt in my window tint and noticed a couple of scratches making me think the film they use is not high quality. I would not recommend. read more

My house has many windows. After finding Nan (coowner with her husband Jae at shield-x), she came to my home that day for an assessment. Nan even said, "You have a lot of windows." Obviously, I wanted a great product at a great price. Nan and I went through tint samples together. After consulting with her husband, she called me back suggesting a different product at a better price. The Shield-X team did a beautiful job and I love the look of the tint as well as the reduced heat in the house. Jae answered all my questions and it was obvious that he is respected for his expertise by his wife and his staff. It has now been 3 months since the tint application. These past few days have been exceptionally hot and I have NO problems with bubbles or scratches. I appreciate them greatly. I highly recommend Shield-X's team and product for residential homes. read more

First of all , I would like to thank Jay for taking care of me. I tinted my windows in 2012 here at this location. And through the years the tint faded to where the window were now see through. So, I decided to call them and see what they could do for me, since it had a lifetime warranty. With my luck I found out they were now under new ownership 1 year after I had the work done. That's my luck lol. So that means the warranty was no longer in affect. Anyways, I figured it never hurts to ask what could they do to accommodate me. After all I felt as if I should at least be taken care of after all the shop still had the same name. Long story short he removed all the old film and replaced it with better quality film which they now use. I'm pleased to say that Jay went above and beyond to take care of me. That's what I call great customer service! read more

Had the tint on the back windshield replaced because it was bubbling from a another tint shop. Price to remove and replace was reasonable, the job looks great even after about 2 weeks. Would definitely come back. read more

I had the work done on a Saturday on my brand new car. (2015 Chrysler) that I bought on September 29 and had the work done in October. They gave me a reasonable price quote, so I agreed to have the work completed. After the car was done, I drove home and parked and immediately noticed that there were MAJOR bubbles and warps in the tint. I know that there are bubbles that occur due to the water/soap they use to apply the tint, but this is more than what you would normally get. I've tinted windows on several cars, so this was not my first experience with the process, just my first time here. I called Shield-X right away and asked about the issues. She told me to wait a few days to see if it got better. So I waited. Two weeks to be exact. Finally I couldn't take it any more so I went back. They said they could re-do the windows that were bad (out of 7 windows only 1 didn't have a problem, but I said they could keep the back window untouched as it wasn't as bad as the others). Once again, I let them do the work, since they don't offer refunds. What choice did I have? This time the windows were worse (I did not think it was possible). I almost cried the next day when I saw how bad it turned out. Here it is a brand new car with crappy tint, not a good feeling. They blamed my felt lining on the windows for the issue and the troubles they had. Really, like felt isn't common on car windows, give me a break. I also had water drips through out my car that they failed to clean up. Not very professional in my opinion. They told me that I had a guarantee on the work and if I had any issues they fix it. Does anyone think I'd go back a third time, NOPE. Went elsewhere (Found out Shield X had scratched my windows when they removed the tint to replace it.), and now it looks great. read more

I brought my Jeep here almost 3 years ago to have my front windows tinted. After I received my first fix it ticket, the owner was very informative and quick to help me solve my problem and come up with a solution! He also went over the state law with me. My boyfriend is restoring a 65 VW Bug and had some windows with scratches in it. He calls Shield X and they told him that they could buff out the scratches so he drops the windows off to them. A week later, no call, no status of the windows. He calls over and over and gets no answers, weeks go by, and finally he decides to just go down there to pick up his windows. A month went by and they did nothing to the windows. If they couldn't do the job, no problem, just call and let us know instead of wasting our time by having the windows sit at the shop for a month. Couple months later he gets the Bug back from the paint shop and needs someone to install the windshield. He calls several places and forgets what company he called and makes an appointment for someone to come to the house to do the job. Just so happen the guy who shows up is the guy who screwed us the first time with the other windows. So he gives him the benefit of the doubt, he installs the windshield and it cracks. With all fairness, there was a chip in the glass. So he tells us that he will pick up another windshield and come back the next day to install it. The next day, no call, no show, no windshield, and he doesn't answer his phone. My Boyfriend calls the owner of the store and he tells my boyfriend to get another windshield and that he would send another guy out the next day. So the other guy shows up, long story short, he didn't know what he was doing, he ruined the seal and chrome around the windshield, and on top of that he scratched the clear coat of the brand new $3500 paint job. My boyfriend is beyond pissed at this point, he pays him anyway without finishing the job and tells him just to leave. So my Boyfriend gets on the phone with the owner of the company and persuades him to come by to look at the mess his guy did. The owner of the shop came by the next day and had the "oh well" attitude, was not apologetic, did not offer any resolution or money for the cost of the damaged windshield frame, chrome, or for the paint job. He pretty much threw $140 at my boyfriend and says "that's lunch money to me" and leaves. Fair warning, if you value your time, money, and property, do not call these guys!!! read more

IF YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE READING THIS WHOLE POST, READ THIS: AVOID THIS PLACE...LOOK AROUND FOR OTHER PLACES. THE PRICE IS CHEAP BUT NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE. : ) First off, let me just say I have never written a bad review before because I never thought it was worth the energy to write a review when the service wasn't that great. I feel the need to now because the service was unbelievably horrible. seriously. When first arriving, I entered the door to young adult behind the counter...its the son of the owners. After picking my tint percentage out, he told me it would be about 2 hours and to return at 1:00PM. I returned at 1:00PM and he let me know it would be no more then 20 more minutes. I went back inside after 30 minutes and he said it would be another 20 minutes. After 2 more hours, my car was finished. I did not mind that it took over 4 hours, I just would have liked to know so I could have went home. During those extra 2 hours, he went and got a pizza for himself and the workers.... At this point I am a little annoyed, but did not give the kid a hard time because I'm not one to complain and it wasn't a big deal. When they finished, they pulled my car up to the front for me to go home. I get in my car and the whole inside is dirty. It had trash in it, part of the tint they didn't use in it, water in the trunk, a razor blade in the back seat, and a ding on the inside of my driver side door. The tint specialist also took a removable sticker off (Honda road side assistance sticker), which I need to receive this service, and threw it away! what the?!?!?! Along with the customer service not being so awesome, the tint has bubbles and was very poorly done. I called the owner of the company and explained what happened...she cut me off every chance she got and had every excuse in the book. She said she would redo it for free...in the rudest way possible. Why would I go back after all of that?? Basically, I'm afraid to take my car back to them. Does that tell you enough? Look other places before you go here. There prices are cheap, but not worth the stress, arguing, bad customer service, or not so great tint job. PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE AND AVOID THEM, YOU WONT REGRET IT! read more
