Growing up in a environment (hunting) where guns were a routine occurrence, it was never a big deal for me to be around them. A while back my wife and I decided to obtain our concealed carry permits; one for her to fully understand what the whole gun issue thing is about and second to know more about how to avoid dangerous situations. That is what the course is more about, avoidance. We did a pre-class round of shooting to familiarize her with the handgun she was going to use and to get the feel of shooting. I was going to give her tips but the team at WFTC was fantastic and jumped right in to help her. So much better than trying to have a family member/husband try to explain everything. They had her shooting in a matter of minutes and taught her everything she needed to know while I did my own shooting. The staff at the site is terrific. Some may say they are a little ridged, but in their environment you have to be. They will set you up with everything you need to have a fun and safe experience. The CCW class was full (25% were women). It had people who were avid shooters to brand new to guns. Although the class was extremely informative, there were a few places where the instructor could have kept with the curriculum vs. life stories (they were interesting, but not relevant at times). They made everyone feel welcome and by the end everyone had done a very nice job. My wife had such a great time she is joining the 3rd Thursday women's night events. One hour of discussion and 1hr of range time. Taught by women for women. If you want to get a better understanding of the whole gun control issue, I highly recommend taking a class to decide for yourself. You may end up finding something that peaks your interest, that you never thought would happen.

However, my experience at the range was great, and moreover, I was pleasantly surprised at how every employee I interacted with was kind, helpful, professional, and made me feel welcomed. I came back a couple weeks later with my colleague, and after reviewing the benefits of membership, I decided to become a member. I have since taken two classes, and I have been so impressed with the classroom and live fire instruction. John Dennert instructed my handgun 101 class, and he is excellent. The emphasis on safety was greatly appreciated and every instructor has been so kind and helpful. I noticed a Fletcher employee in the second class I took, and apparently that is common - truly a testament of the quality of the classes when the employees take them as well. I hope to take several more classes. When sending emails regarding questions I have, the owner, Megan, has often responded herself, and has gone above and beyond to be of assistance. I've also interacted with so many on the Fletcher team from the range to the store that have left a positive impression on me (shout out to Tracey, Max, Ben, and many more - I wish I remembered all their names). The culture of excellence at Fletcher clearly flows from the top down. I'm glad to support this business - you should absolutely stop in and see what they have to offer.

This was the experience of myself and my brother on 9/1/24. First, as a nonmember you need a card to access the course (not explained to me). The card machine was not working so I told them that I would shoot first and then pick up the card. Myself not being experience with this clubs procedures I did know and WAS NOT TOLD, that without the card I couldn't shoot. So I went all the way out to start shooting and had to come back in to get my card so I could actually shoot. Unfortunately the card machine took another 10 minutes to start working. Second, they give you no instructions on how to use their controls. We did figure them mostly out but on the first station one of the workers had forgotten to switch on one of the machines, so we had wasted 10 of our allotted "birds" trying to figure this out. You are given a waste of 5 birds per person for machine malfunction , broken birds, etc. So with 2 people shooting. we had already used up our allotment. We had many other broken birds in the course, so by the last station we were not allowed to shoot anymore to finish. The controls also did not work as they were intended to all the time, but would still charge you for the bird each time. By this time we were so beyond dealing with such a poorly run facility that instead of having this remedied we walked out and NEVER plan on coming back! Also, their staff needs much better training!
