I was approached mid-workout by a manager (Jessica) on the gym floor, in front of other members, in a way that made me feel publicly called out and extremely uncomfortable. Even if it was a misunderstanding, the approach was embarrassing enough that I no longer feel comfortable coming back to the gym. It's especially disappointing because the gym promotes supporting women, but the way I was treated and publicly embarrassed did not reflect that message. Because of this experience, I cancelled my membership at She's Fit Metrotown. I do want to acknowledge that the General Manager handled the situation professionally afterward and was respectful in listening - but unfortunately the public confrontation on the floor overshadowed what had otherwise been a very positive experience. read more

My membership started many years ago with Just Ladies and then moved to Shes Fit. Ive been a member since the 1990's. Over the last year I was not able to attend gym due to illness or otherwise, however, my bi weekly fee of $10.?? went thru and I never complained. i paid for almost 14 months without using the gym. I also paid for my parking and never ever received my formal parking pass and all they kept blaming the City of Burnaby for being behind. Just this February I had to cancel my membership due to unforeseen circumstances. Things have settled down and want to enroll once again. Called Metrotown and they quoted me the different prices to rejoin and also the bi weekly fee that has gone up considerably. Shes fit will not give a long time member the benefit of rejoining and it's all about money. I also ran across a credit card dilemma and the office you call had the most awful rude person working there. She makes you feel like a criminal. I have to admit the gym its self is very good the equipment is state of the art but the staff could be a bit more caring. Some staff members don't even know how to answer a simple question, nor can you get help when needed. read more

I'm a long time memeber of this She's fit location, and did not expect this kind of unlawful practice. Recently I have been charged $20 for overpayment however when I called to update my credit card information to a 'new one' they said this card is already on my account. When I asked the employee (Janelle) why they didn't charge that secondary card on file when the other one didn't work, she mentioned that they didn't have 'permissions' to charge that card even though it's already on file. Since I have already given the card I would assume that it's chargeable and expect them to try it if it's there already... Very poor management and policies/system. If a 'permission' is required I would expect that they would call me to ask. Yet nothing was communicated until the email sent to me on overpayment due and charging me $20 per late payment. Clearly only cares about squeezing more money from their customers. read more

I am a regular client at the Kingsway - Metrotown location. Today, there was an insident happened, and that made me very not happy. One staff handled the situation acceptable, one was very rude - like put more gas on the fire! My personal / sensitive information was collected /scanned uploaded without my authorization. I asked them to remove it but they were not able to because they has no authorization to do so. They tried to contact their manager, but no responses for such situation. Was a member since it was Just Ladies Fitness, and find myself eventually returning here, even if I've moved closer to the new Brentwood location. Yes, it's an older facility with some occasional leaks. From ceilings, older machines, but I noticed they have switched to a newer line of equipment post-pandemic restrictions. Though it is small, I do appreciate the shower area, and the dry sauna. My membership allows me to use other locations and though I love the convenience of the location, and the larger facilities, I am still uncomfortable having to walk through the co-ed section to get into the she's fit area there. Felt like walking into a "fishbowl." I also love the parking lot with an annual fee of around $30, which saves so much hassle and money! My only wish is to have the option to rent a locker for 3/6/12 months, so I won't have to bring extra bag(s) for shoe and toiletries (plus a hair dryer). I sometimes have to squeeze in my gym time in between two different work commitments, and it's just a bit complicated having to carry three bags to the gym. I am a regular member at this gym for almost three years now. I used the tanning booth in the private room August 5th. I was completely naked in the room for 30 minutes and I kept hearing noises. After I finished my tanning booth session I looked up and noticed a big hole and a man is up in my room in the ceiling with a flashlight looking at my NAKED body. I asked him what he was doing there up in my own room and he said he was doing maintenance. I FREAK OUT and run to the reception CRYING. I booked an appointment to speak with the manager. The day comes, the manager of this location does NOT bother to call me to discuss the situation. I call the gym the next day and makes an excuse that and she did not have the time to call me. I ask if I can get a compensation of any sort. That would be the LEAST they can do. She gets back to me the next day and tells me there is nothing they can do. Super unprofessional. Manager does not care about her customers. Does not even bother calling back. This could have been prevented if the girls at the reception payed attention but they don't care and all they do is chit chat whenever I come to the gym. THIS is an only women's gym. Huge violation of the gym policy and their promise. And huge violation of my own privacy. If I can give it 0 stars I would. read more

I had a really bad experience at the She's fit Burnaby.Last year, I registered for membership,they did not tell me the details of the rule. Especially they will charge $24 fee for bi weekly late payment.On April 19 i went there to cancel my membership,they told me if i want to cancel i have to pay $180 for membership and late fee.I told them it was too much. Then they went to talk to a woman,i think it was a manager.They came back and told me they reduced my price to $140.I still did not feel satisfied so i said I would come back an other day.On April 30,i decided to pay that amount and come back to cancel,because i don't want to be associated with this club anymore.But you know,they made me even angrie.They made me pay total of almost $300,including $50 is for the gym equipment fee for 1 year and additional month's fee becau they said i had to cancel a month in advance. Wtf.. .after 10 days returning i have to pay doubleAnd i remember that last year i registered around June,so why do i have to pay for gym equipment fee??? This review is not about the gym (when I was going, it was great). For reasons beyond my control, I find I have to cancel my membership. However when you try to cancel your membership, the process is onerous! Be prepared to speak with an automated voice system at a call centre in the US who will have to verify your membership in about 5 different ways. Invariably, you will fail at some of those ways. After i raised my voice to the automated system in frustration, I was transferred to an agent who was somewhat easier to deal with. I have now cancelled, I hope. read more

Been with the gym for a week and love it so far. $18/month for one location, $20 card + $20 sign up fees, need 30 days notice to cancel. No more trial periods or drop ins unfortunately, but they'll give you a tour before signing up so you can decide. They're taking COVID seriously: lots of cleaning, the booking system is great, things are spaced out, good signage, masks required at all times, and they reminded someone not wearing a mask properly about needing to wear it properly, which I found reassuring. Lots of cardio and weight machines! The one disappointment is the free weights area is fairly limited, with only 3 benches (1 with barbell). Still, I've rarely had to wait for anything! I love the big open studio at the top, too! The staff have also been very helpful and friendly. It's been fantastic working out with only women -- I feel immensely more comfortable. You can wear a sports bra without stares! Highly recommend overall. read more

I love this gym! Having a workout environment that is only women makes me a lot more comfortable and everyone is focused on themselves rather than staring at other people. I come to this gym at different hours every day and I always see staff cleaning, which is great (nobody wants to use dirty, sweaty equipment). The classes are EXCELLENT. They offer a variety of classes from yoga, to zumba, to HIIT workouts. If you're looking to really get into shape and want a push, take one of Stephanie's "Group Blast" workouts, she's awesome. I'm giving 4 stars rather than 5 because the receptionists at the front are either kind, approachable and helpful or aloof and sometimes even rude. read more

I have been trying to leave this gym since January. After speaking to 6 people, coming into shes fit twice and "successfully" ending my membership twice, I found out that once again I am getting charged for a monthly payment that I had cancelled months ago as well as another yearly service fee. I spoke to them at length about the ridiculousness of getting charged for something that I had already cancelled well in advance but alas they are incapable of doing anything about it. I guess because Im leaving and they already have my money, why worry about customer loyalty. About the gym itself: the facility looks great, people are nice. Most machines are working, and although classes can be hard to get into they're fairly good. I'm sure that if the location had been halfway convenient for me I might have been inclined to use it more often. However my experience trying to leave this gym has sworn me off of gym memberships for life. read more

This gym is disgusting. Not only does it smell horrible, the machines are never wiped down. The floor in the tanning rooms have never been cleaned. I recently purchased a bottle of tanning lotion, got into the tanning room and the lotion was opened and used!!! The Customer service rep (if you can call her that) shrugged her shoulders and found an a new bottle. No apology, nothing. They have a revolving door of staff, I don't think I've seen the same girl there twice. They are rude, take personal calls at reception when members are waiting to be assisted. I quite like this gym. Yes, there are start up fees, there's an annual fee and an annual parking pass fee if you opt for that. However the monthly costs are fairly inexpensive, and it provides a no frills, clean environment to work out in. Parking: Fantastic. Lots of parking in a well lit area. Staff: Very friendly and helpful. No problems with them whatsoever. I sent an email through their website's contact us page asking if they would order a couple 2.5lb weights for the squat rack, and had a reply the same day saying they would order it that day. How awesome is that? Cleanliness: Very clean in all areas, including showers. Though I only ever go at 6am, so not sure what they're like later on in the day. There's a sheet that says someone checks on the locker/shower areas multiple times a day, and I have seen them thoroughly check through the area. Equipment: Good selection and number of cardio machines. I enjoy the selection of weight machines too. My only gripe is that I wish there was more than 1 squat rack and more barbells.. I hate taking the bar away from the one squat rack in order to do deadlifts. Overall I like the gym. Nothing fancy, inexpensive, gets the job done. read more

My mother tried to go to the gym today and staff member Rubina at 7:21 PM on Monday October 5 has demanded she pay the no-show $10.00 for a missed gym session dated back to August 24. My mom did not miss this dated session, and the card scan was faulty that day (and other days). She was still allowed in even though her card did not scan. The staff here informed my mom 16 day laters on Sept 9 that she owed the no-show fee. They SHOULD'VE told her sooner, not over 2 weeks later. This shows POOR communication for members and LACK OF CLARITY amongst staff to retain proper scanning protocol. read more

I joined this club on November 2019, I got a week free pass and they extend it to another 10 days to see if I really like it, My focus is to improve my strenght and toned my body a bit, there is some fees to pay up front and $140 to take a 7 month program as your option and this includes meal plan and a 1 day guided exercise routine from the fitness guru after that it's your duty to make sure you follow the meal program and the exercise as set for your specific needs, I have no negative comment to the facility and the staff at the moment, I found them friendly and the gym seems ok, for $16 per month membership and no contract to keep I think its pretty decent, it's our body and health is what we have to focus more, everything cost something but when it comes to our health we shouldn't cheap out! read more

This used to be Just Ladies Fitness. They had a promo going on for $14.99/month, but I chose the 'Elite' package for $24.99/month so I could work out at any gym on their list and also sometimes I like to tan. I went in there, knowing what I want out of a gym. I was honest and upfront with the sales rep and I told her to not to try to sell me anything. I just want to work out, I don't want to be bothered .. I was working out at a community centre that was charging me $42/month and their equipment was failing. So this is a big step up. I just have to drive a little further, but I'm okay with that. So happy here. I'm motivated because they have all new equipment, classes and also.. TV's on all their cardio equipment. The staff is helpful and nice and that's all I care about. I'm deducting one star because you have to pay for parking.. $33/year for a pass or 50 cents an hour. I'll tell you the good, the bad, and the ugly. PRICING: The good is that the monthly pricing of She's Fit is considerably lower than other gyms. The bad and ugly is their advertising can be deceptive. 10 dollars a month promo? Yes but you have to pay $100+ up front, and an additional $20 to "lock in" your monthly fee so that it doesn't go up. Oh, and a mandatory fitness test which costs $30. After a year, you'll also have to pay in to their equipment improvement fee. If you decide to cancel, for some reason they need a month's notice so you'll still have to pay up for another month. When my friends and I were still contemplating a time to sign up, the sales girl really pushed us to come back during her shift so that she can meet her numbers. I think there is definitely a line between being an assertive salesperson, and just coming off as pushy. To be fair, this kind of pricing scheme and attitude seems pretty common in the fitness club industry, for whatever reason. Sales come first. Despite all the extra fees, it is still a lot cheaper than other gyms which start at $50+ a month. THE FITNESS TEST: Basically at the fitness test they go over your fitness goals, and give you suggestions for how to meet them. They also take your blood pressure, and size measurements (optional). I didn't find the test itself helpful, but Alisha, the girl who was doing the fitness test for us was super friendly. FACILITIES: This place used to be a Just Ladies Fitness, so you can tell things have been renovated since then. The change rooms and washrooms could use an update, but the equipment all seems fairly new. There's quite a lot of treadmills and elipticals, which is awesome. Definitely a step up from the local Bonsor community centre. The cardio equipment each has an individual TV, so an hour of cardio for me goes by pretty fast. For me this is a big plus, because my biggest barrier going to the gym is getting bored staring into space. If you know what you want out of a local gym, then this might be right for you. Also, once in a while there are drips from the ceiling, which staff says is from condensation. Ummm that's nice but I don't think anyone wants to get splashed by that.. read more

It's probably not worth it to be elite. I've had my membership for 5 years and i've taken a lot of classes but they've gone downhill over the years. I find the instructors rather boring. Now I just go in the evenings for a regular workout, and it's relatively quieter after the "after work" rush at around 7pm. In general it's an OK place to work out. read more

The best thing about this gym is that is ridiculously cheap - $15/month for the basic plan, no contract - but it's the epitome of "you get what you pay for"; it's not terrible, but not a top-notch facility. If you're a casual gym goer looking for a cheap place, you might like this place. Lots of cardio machines with TV's on them which is nice. Only one squat rack and a Smith machine. Other machines are old but still functioning. Plates only go up to 25 lbs and there is one set of 35's. Gets busy during peak hours but it's not too bad during the day, rarely do you have to wait for a cardio machine. Parking costs $30 ish a year, and there are usually spots available at all times during the day. There is a mandatory fitness test which is really just a way for them to take more money from you. They hook up some stuff to you and claim that they can calculate your body fat percentage that way, which by the way, is not accurate. Then they ask you about your eating habits and don't really give recommendation. Overall it's a pretty useless assessment unless you have very little knowledge about your own body. There are fitness classes that seem to be pretty popular and are included in membership I believe, and a tanning booth if that happens to be your thing. The weekend hours are absolutely terrible (8-4pm) and they're usually closed on all the stat holidays. read more

I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about the costs for... I pay 15$ a month as advertised and 10$ joining fee and the 30$ mandatory fitness assessment. They also have great promotions so you can try the gym for 7 days free. They were completely upfront about the costs and were never pushy. The staff are really awesome and friendly. The facility is clean and is never packed when I'm there, no wait times for machines and machines are always in good working condition. The fitness assessment is definitely just a money grab but hey no other gyms are this cheap and if you really don't know where you are fitness wise then this will give you some basic info. For the price you won't get anything better, if you need a higher class gym then you will pay a higher class price. read more

Signed up for an Elite membership online cause you can use any location and I like the added free tanning. I was called to come in and sort out some papers, etc. So I went in and they were perfectly friendly and the gym seems new and clean from the reception area. However I was just asked to sign the contract, asked for a method of payment and then handed an envelope of papers and sent on my way. No indication of when or how I will get my card (they start you with a temp pass) or of when I can do an orientation or the fitness assessment that they charge you $29 for every May. According to the papers I got they think they stand apart from other gyms because each new member starts with a series of 3 appointments and a fitness assessment meant to allow you to familiarize yourself with the gym so you don't find it nerve racking and stop going...I was not shown this experience. I live closer to Highgate so I will usually go to that location and likely only visit the Metrotown location for the odd class. read more

First of all, I'm I refuse to go back to a gym where I have to pay for parking when I'm already paying for a membership. I got a parking ticket and the receptionist was absolutely no help and said there's nothing i can do except pay the $85. All the club 16 locations are great but this she's fit is dark and dingy with old machines. Not to mention the hours suck. read more

The place is filthy. Go into the change rooms and smell the funk embedded in their carpeted facility - it hasn't been properly cleaned, probably ever. The machines are dated and the staff is cranky and often incompetent. The only thing this place has going for it is that it's cheap, but otherwise it's awful. I wish I could give this 0 stars. I was interested in finding a gym closer to where I live, so I set up a meeting with a trainer. It's safe to say that I had every intention of joining after this compulsory meeting. I made an appointment early in the morning, thinking that I would be in and out and able to get to work on time. So I walked in, and told the receptionist that I had an appointment and that I was going to go pay for parking, she acknowledged that. But, when I walked in a minute later, she told me that the trainer was busy with a walk-in. I'm wondering why it was appropriate to take a walk-in client over someone who had an appointment - VERY unprofessional and a complete waste of my time. Second, why did the receptionist not tell me this before I paid for parking? At this point, I was still willing to give this gym a chance considering these things happen. However, when I asked the receptionist a question about times and an estimate, she told me that I would have to wait and that she's "just a receptionist". I asked her if she could look online and translate the information on there, again she said she can't help me. Not only did I leave this place frustrated, I also wasted my time looking into an unprofessional establishment. I can only imagine what it would be like working out here every other day. Monthly costs are low as well as the group classes, but they charge you a lot for the sign up. It cost me about $70. $20 for a member card, $30 for a fitness assessment, and so on. That "assessment" seems like a waste of time for you and easy $30 for them. Other than that it's a good place. Some of the equipment is old, but everything's clean and well maintained. I do not recommend this gym. Staff were not customer service oriented and the staff member who gave me an overview of the equipment was not informative or friendly, so it actually made me feel like a burden. My worst encounter was when I cancelled my membership, but it unfortunately wasn't cancelled. Throughout this, I had lost my bankcard and had to get a new one, so thinking my membership was cancelled, of course I did not need to update my card information, but they continued to allow membership charges to accumulate and have been completely unreasonable to deal with. A business who continues to bill and clearly the person is not using the service any longer would cancel their membership and bill them for the month you did not receive and 30 days, so two months, but not them. I never once received a call for months or mail they just allowed it to accumulate, so now that it has become a large sum they calling, emailing and still have not cancelled my membership requiring a 30 day notice. Absolutely ridiculous. Do not sign up to this gym they have horrible customer service and its impossible to get out of their membership. With the price you pay for a membership. It's not too back. I bought a membership while it was on promo and for $20/month, I was able to use all the facilities and classes as well. A few of my friends have the Club 16 membership so with my membership, I get access to that gym too. They have been doing their best with the renovations. Last year they changed the carpet and hopefully this year they can renovate the washrooms. The club has been adding extra classes to accommodate the demand which I think is pretty nice. read more

The gym is good, they have a lot of equipment and the staff are fine. My issue is the fees... They have start up fees and they made me pay almost $100 for late payment, however I had already payed the extra fee when I changed method of payment. So basically I was charged twice. If you want to end the contract you have to wait for anniversary date or pay $75. Allthough it seems like youre only paying $14.99 to 27.99 per month if you add all their fees its a lot more. I did have a good experience with the healthy transformation plan.. I lost 20lbs but it is hard because no one follows up with you as to how you are doing. Its hard to find all female gyms but Im not sure it is worth it for a student like myself...it seems cheaper than the alternatives but it really isnt. She's fit has awesome rates and if you pay for the Elite membership you get to attend classes and get free tanning. The beds are usually okay until the lights need to be replaced, but make sure to clean them before and after, since people are using them after their sweaty workouts. Other than that no complaints the classes are awesome and the staff is extremely sweet.
