Once I entered the shop, a lovely woman was working and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I learned that she is a vendor, and others are as well. One other woman that has a shop on Mound used to also be a vendor as well. She gave me a lot of information and showed me around some pieces. I found an adorable stool perfect for our kitchen. I also found a super cute plant table perfect for my hall by the front door. It matches my bench there perfectly. I was super excited. She told me that some vendors are also willing to negotiate a little on prices, depending on the items. I really loved one of the night stands and I was going to buy one, but I could not decide which would fit best. She suggested I take measurements and see which would fit better. She did not push me to make the buy. She told me to think it over night and if I were to decide to buy it, I could always call to hold it. She was super sweet and helpful. She even helped me carry my items out to the car as well. Both pieces are painted beautifully, and they even sell the paint in store. I will 100% be back very very soon!

There is an array of fun and funky items for home, garden and gift giving to the person that has everything. I fell in love with all the re-purposed dresser drawers; they were so beautiful! The two women that were overseeing the shop for the day were very informative and pleasant. They are talented artisans that re-purpose much of the furniture that you'll see in the shop. Not only are they talented and friendly but they are generous as well. The owners and the employees give back to the community by donating furniture to Turning Point, one of the top woman's abuse shelters for the Macomb county area. You can even take a class so you can learn how to paint and re-purpose your own table, dressers, etc. The owner, Denise Schultz, provides music lessons to youngsters. This store and the people that oversee it are what is considered "the salt of the earth"; please come out and support them. Absolute worst customer service I've encountered. Every employee I encountered during my screen…read moredebacle was inept, uninformed and frankly didn't care about customer service up to the manager. So I guess it comes from the top down. -I needed two screens replaced. Dropped off and was told their screen guy would take care of it. -Went to pick up and he put the wrong latched on the screens. Why wouldn't you use the ones that came? Or marked where they attach? He was clueless when I explained I couldn't use the screens now. He then sends me across town to get new latches from Richmond Glass (just take your screens there for work FYI) they were so helpful and sympathetic to my having to deal with the idiots at Ace. -I return and the screen guy tells me I should just replace the latches myself and he can sell me the screen tool. I already paid for him to do this. I then see the parts I drove across town to get that he told me Ace doesn't carry. I ask him to replace the latches as I've paid for the job. -I provide him the measurements verbally 3 times with approximately 5 times repeat back because he admits he didn't write them down. Spoiler Alert: he mismeasures where the latches go. We have to take it back. -then after several phone calls to inquire on our screens we are told he was off and the manager couldn't have anyone else work on them because of the issues. -This hour tops job took over a week with us doing most of the legwork. Zero apologies. We've had them do screens before and it was always great. This was atrocious and I'm upset over the entire experience. Buyer beware. Go to Richmond Glass for actual customer service and expertise. Ace has gone downhill.

I noticed that they had a kitchen area filled with small appliances, food storage, cooking, and bakeware. There are other household products such as cleaning supplies and laundry items. I love their trash cans. My mom actually bought one from here. The Brute ones are amazing and cheap. Great for yard and trash. They have a large section for paint and wood supplies. Anything you can think of, they have. All the the necessary tools as well. Even ladders for outside work, painters, or anyone. One of my favorite things was the storage bins. Perfect for storing away things taking up space. They have many other sections like plumbing, automotive, and hardware. A useful area for me is the doorknobs and padlocks. I was looking for new ones. We also saw lots and lots of tooks for everything. Their biggest section may have been lawn. The lawn area have sprinklers, tools, weedwackers, blowers, lawn mowers, hose, bird feeders, plant food, insect control, fertilizer, grass chemicals, and grass seed. They also have grills and propane. Some of the tools are useful for yard work such as shovels and rakes. It's seems like a great place to buy painting and lawn items more than anything else. I did see some items priced higher than other stores like the cleaning supplies. They do also have some cheap steals.

I needed to resurface part of my wood floor, so I went to Home Depot and picked up a can of stain…read morethat looked - from the can - like the color of my floor. It was much too dark, and it looked terrible. I told a friend about what happened, and he recommended I got to Sherwin-Williams. I brought a piece of the stained wood from the original floor. The store manager spent some time comparing the different stains they had to the piece of wood: the wood itself can affect how the stain looks, so you can't always go just by the picture on the can. It's not the same thing as paint. He picked a shade that looked close, and he did something Home Depot didn't do: he applied the stain to the piece of wood I brought, on the unstained part, so I could see what it would look like on the wood. He told me that, if it didn't match perfectly, he could do some color matching to get the stain to look perfect. It would have taken a day for him to do this, but he would have done it free of charge. As it turned out, the stain matched perfectly. I sanded out the mistaken stain from before and applied the stain I got from this store. I first thought there was something wrong, but then I realized: the new stain looks like the floor when I first laid it down. The existing floor is dirty from years of not being polished. If you look at the picture I attached, you'll see this: the lighter color on the left is the current (dirty) floor; the darker color on the right is the newly-stained floor. Now, I just need to wash the rest of the floor, and it will be as good as new!

Mike Kennedy from a Brush Above Painting is terrible! It really saddens me to even have to write…read morethis. He was hired to paint my basement. The ceiling is a horrible mess. There are so many places that he missed. I have given him amply time to fix his mistakes. He has told us several times and dates that he would be over, so we canceled plans would rearrange our schedules, and he canceled every time. Needless to say, a month later and he still has not come back. He also made a mess on the floors, hand rails, and light switch covers. He tried to do a "bait and switch" with the paint he told us he would use. Talked a big story of using Sherwin Williams Emerald paint. I happen to take a look around and check, Mike was using the cheapest paint. I had to call him out on it, and he tried to fast talk me. (Little did he know, I have done my fair share of painting-and knew my products). Stay away and hire a real professional painter! (BTW, I would give zero stars if it would let me)
