But now that Yelp has shown me the magic of smaller businesses, we looked around and found a Rodda down the road. We stopped in on a Thursday morning to find some samples and we're so glad that we did! We have now been in three times. The first two to find some samples and the third to place the large order for all the paint we will need to paint the interior of our house (GULP!) The staff here were so helpful. All three times we have been in, it has been the same lady and gentleman working and both of them have been awesome. They answered all our questions, without hovering or trying to make big sales. On my second trip in, I was looking for a paint that was somewhere in between two other colors and the gentleman poured over all their paint chips to find me the perfect one! And sure enough, that's the one that's going up on our walls! They advised us on the type of sheen to get for the three different colors (we have to do ceiling, walls AND trim...double GULP) and which ones would be the most durable to hold up against Hurricane (1 years old). They have lots of supplies, from rollers to paint brushes, drop cloths to paint clothes, thinners to stains. This will be our forever paint store! Thanks Rodda!

The products are top-quality, prices are no different, and some lower, than any of the big boxes. They are very courteous, professional, and sincerely want to help you, not condescending, not rushing you or trying to push you to buy stuff you don't need. I need to make a shout-out to Mr. Pete Slocum, assistant manager, for his great advice, service and overall helpfulness. A fine gentleman that made my store visit a delight! The results of my finished project were outstanding!

And super eager to do their jobs. Can't remember their names, but two females that work there...made the experience all the better. That being said! Haha! Now comes the surrious, surrioussss part. I gave it 3 stars when I wanted to give it two. As mentioned, the staff put at 3 stars and had this been a review just on the in-store staff, I would have GLADLY given 5 stars. So I moved into my home a year ago this past Spring. One of the contracted painters with this store, Jason, was the one we were SO blessed to have as the guy painting the house Exactly ONE year to the day of moving in, the roommate and I noticed that the paint from this place...began to peel away from the rain gutters as well as some of the trim. Roommate contacted the painter and his response was something like "I am not responsible for that sort of thing" That was it. His response didn't surprise me all that much. I mean, it was crazy rude, because that sort of reaction reflects back on this business. Do they contract quality guys to paint? Hmmm So, basically, ahem! Ahem! Lol, if you choose this place, just keep in mind that the paint...is NOT the best quality...and if Jason ends up being sent to your house, sorry, Jason, but people...request another person to do the job. My house is about 1500 sq ft. It's a contemporary style house from the 80's. Its unique af! Some parts of the roof...shoot up to 17ft at their highest peak. So, I get it can be difficult. Jason..proved that. I don't wanna say to much about him. I mean, aside from his rude response to the gutters/trim peeling...he was a pretty nice guy. Big dude. It took him a month to complete the house. It easily could have been completed in maybeeee 2 weeks? He just called the roommate a LOT to say he wasn't coming and for various reasons. So, this review wasn't as colorful as I guess it could have been. But I'm on Yelp to tell the truth about businesses and the services they provide. That being said, thanks for reading. Cheers!

I told him I wanted 2 gallons of a particular stain so he wrote it up and hauled it out the the car for me. After arriving back home, I realized that the stain was a solid, not the semi-transparent I wanted, so I went back to the store. Sure enough, The sign over the stain I bought clearly stated it was a SOLID stain, so the fault was mine. The manager located what I should have bought, explained exactly how to prepare the surface and gave me a substantial discount on the two new gallons although, I'm sure he didn't have to. I will most certainly buy from them again and again!

We specifically chose this family business because we wanted to support a family owned business. The owner seemed very helpful trying to find the right white to go with our cabinets. My husband who worked 15 years as a trade painter for a large company, went to trade school and is a certified journeyman so basically knows this business very well, this was before going to work for the Fire Dept. For 25 years. We ordered 15 Gallons- a custom sheen at a ratio of 2:1 of egg shell to flat, and after a lengthy discussion on this we placed the order. Long story short-they NEVER mixed to color!!!!! They never said they didn't mix the 15 gallons! 1st off had we know this, fine-we would have done it ourselves. But standard practice when you order a custom color you mix it. I've never ordered any amount of paint that wasn't mixed throughly. Pryor to this large order we also had ordered other paints and stain, no problem, the owner was helpful. This time the son took the order. This was a white color and in the great room we where painting the ceiling, there are a lot of shadows and light and very hard at the height we where working to see until the paint dried that the paint was never mixed. This was very hard work as well as renting the staging. This is not being sprayed it's all brush and roll. In all with prep and setting up staging I can't begin to tell you the time and money and energy that was wasted due to complete negligence. We went in and told them what they did and after a side private discussion their response was "sorry". My husband got in the truck and didn't say a word until we got home he was so upset. He finally said they didn't even offer to at least replace the paint, or cover the renting of the scaffolding, nothing. I'm sorry but absolutely unacceptable. Quite honestly just the absolute waste of our time and the fact that my husband has to completely re-do the entire 25 foot ceilings just infuriates me that I had to write this review, my husband isn't even aware, it's just been upsetting watching him have to do this again! This was unacceptable.
