I kept calling and asking for a start date and they seemed to have amnesia. Finally, I got the first group of workers out, but nobody seemed to know what they were doing. Each phase of the project was filled with major problems, mistakes, and poor workmanship. Each time I tried to get a problem resolved it was again as if nobody knew what project I was talking about. It's been almost a year and I still have unresolved issues with this remodel. every single thing that could have possibly gone wrong did, and then even more. Lately, I have been carrying a lot of my belongings with me such as iPhone, wallet (credit cards…read moreand cash money), iPad, car and house keys, plus my USA passport, which helps to avoid misunderstandings with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). So, these are a lot of things to stove in my pants (except the iPad, which I used to leave it in the car) ; hence, I purchased a small day pack, which is way smaller than a school backpack. This bag allows me the comfort of taking all my items with me at a moments notice, just like women do! However, women's daily pack are called handbags and they are similar if not bigger than a man's daily pack, and I bet no-one would dare to ask a woman to check their handbag at the front-desk of a hardware store! Anyway, I have never had an issue entering any store with my small daypack until today. I went to the ACE store near my house and as soon as I walked in the store a sharp voice demanded that I check my daily pack at the front desk. At first, I could not understand why is this person questioning my integrity and no even 30 seconds have gone by when another ACE store person, a large man joined in the argument and said that it was a store policy and that I needed to check "the back pack" at front or else leave the store. First of all, it is not a back-pack, but a smaller bag; secondly, store policies should be displayed at key touchpoints along the customer's journey into the store to ensure transparency and prevent disputes. Anyway, I have been coming to ACE and as a home owner, I have made lots of home improvement purchases at this ACE store which used to be on Nevada St before, and I have not been able to find such policy display any were on their front doors. I don't mind store clerks doing their job, but I do mind when they questioned my integrity. Hence, ACE has lost my patronage and moving forward I will rather drive an extra 1 mile to the HomeDepot.

Jeff Pecka, the owner, communicated with us by text and email to keep us informed of their progress in a timely manner. The process was seamless and painless and they got the job done within a week of the HOA approval. I especially like the front door that his dad painted (it's a family affair) because I used harsh cleaning chemicals on it in error during COVID. It looks better than when we moved in as the original owners. Thank you, Jeff! Even my dog likes them. They are dog people. He also took that ugly TV Dish thing to the dump for me.

Might I suggest grabbing a cart as you start and completely optional, go inside and grab a small bag of free popcorn so you can take your time looking and not get hungry. Located in Auburn, Green Acres/ Eisley's has knowledgeable employee if you ever have any questions. I have personally taken a picture of a house plant I was gifted and they were able to help me with its care and it is taking off like crazy now. Key word I was given... patience! My last couple visits, I was looking for some tomato, jalapeno, onion, and zucchini plants for my garden (I love zucchini, but I specifically have a bloody mary/ salsa garden). Also, some herbs for my cute little herb garden. The prices here are hard to beat! I went outside for my starts, which were under $4! I also picked up some thyme, rosemary, oregano, dill, cilantro, and chives all at great prices! Don't stop there. This nursery is HUGE! I was also looking for flowers that will attract bees. My tip is to watch which ones one bees are going to. Of course, they absolutely love all the flowers here, but I get the ones I see the most bees on. Now pay attention! Here's another tip! The plants that are in full sun, you should plant in full sun. The ones in shade, those you should plant in a shady area. There are trees and bushes available of so many kinds that are also either in full sun or partial shade, full shade... so pick the one that well be right for the spot you are trying to fill at home. There are planters and pots of so many sizes and made up of different materials with so many patterns available. The indoor house plants are my favorite. Can you guys guess how many indoor plants I have at home since I am a plant lover? Just inside, I have 19 plants (and counting)... so yes I am a plant lover!! If you have any questions, anyone working here is happy to help. They do offer returns, but not on vegetable plants or 1 quart potted plants. You must have your receipt (you can look up their return policy online). This nursery will put the motivation back in your attitude with just one visit. Last month I dropped on in to the a Green Acres - Eisley garden nursery in Auburn, CA. For folks,…read morelike myself, that didn't know.... the Eisley family sold their business to the local Green Acres franchise in 2020. The Eisleys founded the shop in 1932. But even though the nursery is a Green Acre's now, the majority of plants are still grown in the on site nurseries. They have a tremendously large inventory of plants, shrubs, and trees. The inventory was healthy and plentiful. The pricing is competitive to the big box shops. The nursery is well staffed and even though not all staff are knowledgeable about plants, they will quickly get someone that is to assist you. They also sell pottery, gardening supplies, sprinkler and irrigation equipment, bagged soil, seeds, and garden art. Another thing to note is that unlike the other Green Acres, this shop doesn't sell BBQ grills and patio furniture. But they do offer complimentary fresh popped popcorn which the other Green Acres don't have. The popcorn has been an Eisley tradition since 1991.
