This was the primary reason for the sugery... to correct an inverted nipple and to round-out a 'squared' area of one breast for symmitry It was a big and disappointing surprise when I woke up. Dr. Vega by the way, said he thought I wanted to be smaller just ahead of the surgery(!?). I had to remind him we discussed him trying out 2 or 3 different sizes to get a C/D cup, which I was before the cancer, and for symmitry. It was clear he forgot, and did not order larger sizes. Whe we discussed that the fat transfer wouldn't have made a difference, he himself suggested I get a 2nd opion. I did.... going to the doctor he recommended. Mistake. At that visit this doctor referred to Dr. Vega by his first name (friends or what?) and said the work was 'just fine'. ("not") Dr. Vega's office then sends a letter saying that since I went to another practice I am no longer their patient. Please note... my records were not sent to the office I used for a 2nd opion, I went for a 2nd opinion at his suggestions, and I never said I was leaving his practice. What is interesting, is that the fat-transfer work I had done prior (but in Florida so no longer covered by my insurance) was great. And my new, local doctor was able to complete the 'tweaks' just fine. Last, there were no office visits of any sort made prior to the surgery, and so it is not a surprise Dr. Vega lost track. But he did not make it right, and his arrogance was awful though he did call to personally apologize after one particularly nasty visit. I expect my surgeon to have just enough arrogance and confidence to cut me open. But not to the point where s/he does not listen. This review will be shared elsewhere as well.

Dr. Goldgeir seemed to me to be so overly scared of covid that he was incapacitated. I went to him with a specific concern about a spot on my nose. He did a strange exam that did not include looking at my face or scalp which are the spots the he focused on last time. Last time he even looked in my mouth. This time, he didnt even ask me to remove my mask. While I was on the table and not able to see what he was doing, he grabbed one of my hands and squirted some hand sanitizer into it and the squirt bottle squirted out past my hands and got the gown I was wearing wet, too. He had no right or reason to do so. SO he left the room without looking at the spot on my nose. I had to ask for him to come back in and I held a hand held mirror up so I could point to the spot I am concerned about ( a spot that still has not resolved and now I am seeking a new DR. btw) He came back in and quickly looked at the spot and then used a tool to burn it away and left again. When he left I looked in the mirror again and the spot was still there. He had burned a different spot. I asked again and the girl went and asked him and he said the spot I am concerned about is just a clogged pore. But it isnt. It is still there and it has been6 months. It looks like a small scar but I never had an injury there so I know it isn't a scar. It just appeared there one day last summer. I think its a shame he acted this way. He could be a great Dr. but he sure wasnt great for me. A mind is a terrible thing to waste. I hope he gets back to himself soon. Or just retire bc seeing patients this way is wrong.

Everything you've heard is true - she is absolutely an artist. She really had her work cut out for her but she sculpted me in a way nobody else could have. I am so grateful to her! I had become very unhappy with these areas as I've aged and my fat has accumulated and redistributed itself throughout my body. When I noticed how similar my shape had become to my mother's, I realized this was what I was genetically predisposed to, and I wanted a procedure that could help me feel better about my appearance and be maintained without any drastic lifestyle changes because I have never enjoyed vigorous exercise and didn't want to have to restrict my moderate and consistent calorie intake. Clothing had always been a way I felt I could express myself creatively and I no longer felt comfortable wearing anything besides men's tshirts and baggy sweatpants if I couldn't just wear a bathrobe. I was hardly socializing at all anymore because I felt insecure about my appearance and simply couldn't find clothing I felt hid my shape well enough. I chose Dr. Amalfi because she was familiar to me from growing up and socializing in similar circles and because of her reputation locally. I wish that personally and as a society these things were less important, but sadly that is not the case so I firmly believe that if something makes you feel good and it doesn't hurt others, you should do it. I am happy to get dressed in the morning now! I run errands and socialize without that dark cloud looming over me. I feel so much freer to devote time to connecting with others and carrying out daily responsibilities that seemed so daunting before. That is priceless to me.
