As each and every serving is made right in front of your eyes, it's fresh. That means that the flavour is everything it could be. As it's frozen in seconds, it's also very smooth. That means that there's a velvety texture and a creaminess that you won't find in the tub at the bottom of your freezer. The Science: The liquid nitrogen rapidly creates miniscule ice crystals, quickly evaporating after coming into contact with the ice cream base. Liquid nitrogen boils at -196C, meaning that there won't be a trace of it left by the time you've given yourself brain freeze. I think it's safe to say if Science lessons were this much fun (and edible) I would have left school with a completely different career path.

This summer I tried...Pembrokeshire Promise, Celtic Crunch, Raspberry Cheesecake, Salted Caramel, Toffee Popcorn, Rhubarb Crumble, Marscapone and Fig, M&M, Snickers, Oreo. There is always a queue, whatever time of day, whatever type of weather - and the weather is variable in St davids. It's fun standing in a queue with other eager beavers as the rain pelts down. Almost as much fun as sitting on the nearby benches in the belting sun with your prize and watching the surfers and the oldie coach parties go by. Said queue goes down very quickly though with expert service. St David's wouldn't be quite the same without Gianni's. The place may not be as clean and shiny as the very popular Joes, but what it lacks in style it makes up by serving ice-cream which hand on heart sets your taste buds a flutter! In addition to the fabulous ice creams, they also serve a variety of toasties, which though basic, taste jolly good. Finally the views of Limeslade Bay are simply stunning!
