Well, pretty much just ask them about anything. They've got the best seeds, the best feeds, the best fertilizer. Just go. They'll help you even if you're the most sophisticated city slicker around.

BUT not only is Southern States cheaper than Lowe's, Home Depot, or Tractor Supply - but their incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff will go out of their way to help you, instruct you, give the best advice they can, order anything you need and point out the best deals/buys for whatever you are looking for. We have an account with them and they are so familiar with our farm needs that they are quick to pull up our account before we can even provide them with the number - they just have us memorized. They've never tried to make sale on something more expensive if the "off-brand" is just as good of quality. They are just terrific! They are always my first pick for feed, fencing, vaccinations, or even just some quick and helpful advice. Their business card board inside the store is also a great place to find local produce, animal sitters, livestock vets, etc. Definitely a great store and great staff!

All these years later, I purchased a 4 zone water timer last year and never got to use it till this spring when I learned it was defective. I really thought I was going to have a struggle getting this resolved but that was not the case. I called customer service and was walked through a few preliminary troubleshooting steps. They gave me a phone number to text a few pics and in no time, they requested my mailing address and had a new timer on the way. However, should you have some 'issue' with a product, you can call customer service and they are helpful, professional, knowledgeable and very customer oriented. If a product is not performing as it should, more than likely they will simply send out a replacement in quick fashion. Their products are great, but should they fail, which is unusual in my opinion, they will replace them in accordance with their great warranties. Melnor is a great choice!!!
