It's true that many families will go where they're referred. We've sat through two different consultations, and while they were both informative and helpful, it seemed that Hodges & Hodges cared and really wanted to get to know their clients. The bottom dollar was also a factor in whether our son should wear braces. One orthodontist even commented that it looked like our son had gone through "phase one" with braces already, which he hadn't! Good news: we opted to put him in braces and Hodges & Hodges told us 12-14 months! From Cassie, the assistant who runs the consultations, to Brande, who works the finances, and to Dr. Patrick Hodges-- we were extremely pleased with their friendliness, ability to answer all of our questions, and then the pricing. It was seriously $800 less than their competitor, and they offer the same thing but in less time (their competitor quoted us 18 months). We've known multiple families who used H&H plus a few former employees and we've always heard great things! Our son gets braces in just a few days and we know we've chosen the right office with the right doctors, with the right methods, and the right staff! I felt like it was a bit pricey for what others told me they paid in this area. The staff overall seemed like they didnt want to be there, there is always a strange vibe I couldnt put my finger on. Most of the time the staff wouldnt even speak to me because they were too busy gossiping about coworkers or whatever. Its one of those places that has a row of chairs all lined up right next to each other and treats patients like a head of cattle in a processing plant. You definitely dont get the personal touch here, if thats what you look for. The Hodges brothers pretty much spend as little time as possible interacting with you, and brush off any issues you may be having unless you keep insisting that they investigate further. They just want you out of there to open up the seat for the next patient. Really, I imagine I couldve gone about anywhere here for the same results as I got. I would not recommend this office to any friends for the reasons I listed. Shop around and find a staff you wont get tired of seeing for the next couple of years, trust me!

She started out in braces when she was in 6th grade. Not all her adult teeth had grown in yet. The Dr's reassured us of the plan of care and it turned out to be one of the best healthy investments we could have made for her. When I moved to Amarillo after getting married (and apparently trying to make my role as a married adult) I decided I needed to finally just take care of ALL my teeth problems. After reading reviews I chose DGOA. Praise the Lord. The hygienists and assistants are so very kind, and Dr. Allison (my dentist) is just outstanding. When I was 23, for the very first time in my life, I was cavity free. Through four cavity fillings in one sitting, a root canal, and multiple teeth cleanings, I have ALWAYS felt comfortable and cared for here. I would probably fly back to Amarillo to come here, if I ever move away. This may seem totally corny and silly, but I have sincerely teared up a little bit thinking about how much I adore this place. I have severe anxiety and have had traumatic dental experiences, and their ability to take that away just astounds me. DO come here.

I unknowingly paid more than my allowable amount when I had the procedure done. When I finally received the itemized bill from my insurance I was also blessed with ANOTHER bill from Dental Group of Amarillo wanting even MORE money !! The charges that this group send out are absolutely a rip off to all of the Amarillo community. No procedure should cost as much as they want to charge. I ended up spending time on the phone with my insurance carrier and they informed me since this group is in network they can NOT charge me more than the allowed amount and they sent me a fraud/grievance report to fill out. I ended up calling the dental office and I had to explain that they couldn't bill me this ridiculous amount and they ended up stating they would talk to their billing department. They acted Shocked and stunned and said " I guess we missed that allowable amount, let me talk to our billing department ". Once they called me back, I was credited for overpaying and told to throw away the new additional bill that they surprised me with. I will never use the dental group again. They also used a product that my insurance doesn't cover knowing that they could bill more for it without telling me this prior to the procedure. This is the most shady money grubbing dental group I've ever seen. If I had not paid attention to the bill and not called both my insurance and this dental group to explain to them they overcharged me and shouldn't be billing me more they would have gotten away with it and no one would have been the wiser. There is no telling how many people they have ripped off in our community.

Went in for a consultation for Invisalign which I was told was a package that included an X-ray,…read morebasic cleaning and a consultation. The visit in total took 3.5 hours mostly waiting. After my X-ray I was advised that I would need several other services which were priced outrageously then denied my basic cleaning due to the fact that I would need a deeper clean even though I was charged a package that includes a basic cleaning. The office staff handled the situation very nonchalantly, woul not recommend this place!
