I had a few teeth pulled awhile ago. I had dental insurance at the time. When I had the work done I paid for what the insurance didn't cover out of pocket in cash. Now after what I believe is at least several months, i have received a bill from Advana for the portion the insurance was suppose to cover. It isn't a large sum of money by dental work standards but it's money I simply do not have. I also made it VERY clear to the office staff that I needed assurance that they were certain of the cost before anything was done. They assured me that the insurance would cover a certain amount and now I'm receiving a bill for that amount. This isn't just unprofessional it's dangerous. I can't afford to pay for money I don't owe. And frankly if this is a common practice with this office it's probably affecting many others. read more

I paid almost $6000.00 for my dentures. During waX fitting I kept telling them that I felt like they were too big for my mouth. They assured me that the actual dentures would fit better. They noted everything I said, but not what they said. Therefore when my final dentures were delivered, they were too big! The assistant is very rude everytime I go in for an adjustment makes me feel awful. I wouldn't EVER suggest this company for any dental work at all. read more

Went in for a consultation on Friday. Was told,explicitly, that they would contact my oncologist for approval for my procedure and i would hear early this week. Never heard anything from them, despite being told that the ball was in their court. Called today and received nothing but walks, excuses and lies about what they said were the expectations. They were rude,unprofessional, and incompetent. Office experience was atrocious. Staff is rude and unprofessional. Service and care, deplorable. They are less expensive because the quality of care is below subpar. And they lie. Go there at your own risk. This place sucks. And I had the money to pay for their services. They won't deliver on their care. I will be filing a report with the agency that oversees their licensing. read more

My appointment was at four. They told me to get there 20 till I got there at 3:47 and I was greeted with the most hateful person. Her name is Victoria and instead of saying hi she just said what is the name on the appointment. The lady behind her, then looked at her and said I told her to come earlier, I tried to explain I live in a different town and traffic was terrible due to road construction and I was seven minutes late even though my appointment wasn't until four. I still got there before four but they were just very rude. I am a cash customer and would have been paying out of pocket. They just lost quite a bit of money treating me very badly. read more

This is the worse place to go for dental service. I had to have some partials made. They give you no instructions on how to take care of them. was told if I needed to have them adjusted just call and they would get me in . have tried twice to get an appointment and they never have anything available. they can get you in in a couple of weeks. When you can't wear them because they are causing sores in the mouth you can't wait a couple of weeks. Victoria in the front office is always very rude and will not do anything to help you out. I have seen her be rude to other patients that come in. once you get your partials, dentures you are pretty much out of luck getting them adjusted. I guess that's why you pay before hand. Once they get your money it's see you later sucker. Would never recommend them. read more

First, I was incorrectly informed that the warranty on my dentures had expired. As a result, I was left to fix broken dentures on my own. I was later notified that the warranty was NOT expired, but since I repaired the dentures on my own, the warranty was now voided. So this forced me to have to buy another top plate. I was quoted over $1,600 WITH Insurance covering half of the bill. Paid the $1,600 out of pocket. Spent entire day with them getting a new plate made. Picked it up at end of day and new plate fits worse than my broken plate. While trying to explain to dental assistant that new plate was not fitting properly, she proceeded to argue with me about it but then took it in the back to have adjustments made. Did this three separate times. By this time, the dental assistant was becoming very inpatient with me because it was end of day on a Friday and she wanted to go home. So it forced me to accept a product that I paid $1,600 for and can not use without having to go home and make additional modifications in order to be able to use it. Use caution when going to this place. They will take you for a spin for sure! read more

I would never go anywhere else. They are vary professional and very kind. They always take the time to squeeze me in if possible. They make my visit as pleasant as can be each time. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist. read more

If I could put zero stars I would. This place is such a scam. I went in just for a filling and he lied to me about how all these things are wrong with my teeth EVEN THOUGH HE PUT THE MATERIAL ON MY TEETH AND THERE WERE NO CAVATIES THERE WAS ONLY AN OLD FILLING THAT FELL OUT. This place just took advantage of my 17 year old son! We came here for another opinion and what a mistake that was! I told them he just had X-rays on the paper work. He went in for a consultation they did X-rays and then walked in said since you just had them Ins won't cover it! Wth!!! Why wouldn't you let us know this before the xrays! Instead of writing the X-rays off like other dentist office they are sticking me with the bill! If it isnt bad enough they were trying to screw my ins when that didn't work they are trying to screw me! The lady up front was so rude and just kept saying well what's done is done! Made it so difficult to receive the services I paid for. Requiring multiple trips for EVERYTHING. Establish 1 trip, xrays 1 trip, cleaning 1 trip, removal 1 trip... oh new year? new xrays 1 trip and at least 1 more trip for fillings. It was so hard to try to find time that I gave up and lost all of the money that I paid out of pocket. I liked the Doctor, the hygienist, and the assistants I dealt with. The office staff and especially the scheduling people are a joke. read more

This office is not only unorganized and has poor communication between its staff, but the receptionist is highly unprofessional and rude. I was scheduled for an extraction. Came in. Got NUMBED. Then the dentist decided not to pull it and redo xrays. Wel my military dentist(who only does exams for reservists) said it was safe to get it pulled. So I call back, and tell them. And the receptionist tells me well I guess you can go through who they referred you to. They do not refer you. It's four hours away...for one. And two I PAID YOU FOR THE SERVICE ALREADY. Worthless dentist office. Now, the in town dentist, hygienist, and techs were very sweet. But the dentists do not communicate well amongst each other. And the way the office staff handled the situation was ridiculous. read more

Think twice before you use this place - My husband paid for top teeth dentures with Sherwood Dental and after having teeth extracted, the dentist shut down and retired. So he made an appointment and purchased his denture from Advanna that included a 5 year warranty. He has not dropped his dentures and is meticulous with cleaning. He has had his dentures just under a year and the minute he went to bite down on a bagel his denture broke in half. He did buy a dental kit in an attempt to fix them until he could get into the dentist since it was a weekend but it was difficult to attempt to hold the denture together so he just gave up and threw the kit away. He went in and was told all they could do is glue them back together. So they took them and glued them back together and handed them to him in a bag of listerine and said "if you want to try them on - go to the bathroom." So he did put them on and left but has now got to go back because they do not fit right. When I called to speak to the office as I felt the dentures were defective if they broke that easy within a year - I was told the dentures broke because of trauma? My husband has never dropped the dentures and the only trauma they would be subjected to is eating. So I guess you have to be careful eating with these dentures. Basically the 5 year warranty you get is for having them glued if they break as they will not replace broken dentures unless you pay for them again. I asked them to mail a copy of the warranty as my husband didn't recall getting a copy when he got his dentures. Don't waste your money at this place. read more

Worst dentist I have ever been too. I went in for simple cleaning and filling and I left with excruciating pain. I went to a different Dr. After being in pain for a week and the fillings are uneven and bumpy. The staff was completely unprofessional the doctor was asking me about my personal life things I didn't feel comfortable sharing. Then he "missed his target" multiple times when he was trying to numb my mouth. They kept reminding me that they were short staffed and that because of that, the job would have to do. I later called and asked for a refund since I have to get all of the work redone. They were rude and refused to give me back my money and not once apologized for the awful job that was done. I hope that someone reads this and it saves them from making the same mistake as I did. The business manager was useless and Dr Jennings shouldn't be taking patients. I am taking further action towards this case. read more

I really enjoyed my cleaning and exam at Advana. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I am usually afraid of the dentist and put it off but they make it easy and enjoyable. I went in with bleeding gums and had some cleaning done. 4 teeth has been done only, still bleeding gums, they kept telling me I have more teeth work and sign me into the lending club for income to get my teeth fixed well I got sick after getting out of the dentist they over did the numbing meds. I called and canceled my appointment and mention I am not coming back. Still payments over 2000 dollars I still owe they said, I have not had that work done. I am going to take these people to court if they don't take this money off of me. read more

Very poor quality of patient care. My dentist was changed 3 times during treatment with no notice, and I was delivered a set of dentures that have never fit properly and advana refuses to correct the problem. I would not recommend this place to anyone! read more

In the middle of relocating to Lubbock and staying with family in Amarillo I broke my upper denture in half eating a croissant (yeah, right?) They were not able to fit me in that day but scheduled me for the next morning. They were apologetic about not getting me in immediately. Told me that they would be able to repair my broken denture but due to it's age (15+ yrs) the repair might not hold for long and they did not feel it was the smart thing to do to possibly waste the cost (about $2-300) on something that could put me in the same position quickly. Had a consultation to discuss new dentures....no pressure at all. Took impressions and set me up to come in three days later for a fitting and later that day for new dentures! Made adjustments to ensure they were a proper fit and looked the way I wanted them to. I will have to go back for a little tweaking next week when I go back to Amarillo for a visit. The office is squeaky clean everywhere and everyone smiles all the time. I would highly recommend them for general care and dentures. read more
