Dr. Cheneweth is great, sadly her office manager is not. I won't go back to avoid having to deal with rude incompetence.

I came here, as the reviews were great. I was able to snag a morning appointment as a first timer, and at the first visit the dental hygienist did a thorough job. She explained every step, which none of my other dental experiences have done. They even gave me some lip balm, which was a nice touch. I had a pain in my molar, which the dentist came and looked at my xrays and listened to my details of my pain. I switched to Sensodyne toothpaste, and the pain isn't bothering me any longer. I don't normally leave bad reviews, I like to give the person or company the benefit of the doubt but after receiving yet again horrible care I will not be going back and I do not recommend this office. The manager is incredibly rude, unorganized and acts like she is the best thing to walk this earth. They charge way more than any great dentist I've ever been to. read more

Dr. Cheneweth lacks the skill or caring to turn out a good product. She tried to put a large deformed looking crown in my mouth. This office is more concerned about the payment than doing quality work. A lot of double talk going on here also. read more

Love, love this dentist! What a find. Dr. Shelly Cheneweth is an excellent dentist. She's compassionate, skillful, patient, understanding and supportive. That's a lot. It's also obvious that the entire staff is sincerely enrolled in providing a positive experience in the office--from the friendly, welcoming front desk, to the dental assistants, the dental hygienist (who was happily humming as she worked on me!), to the private checkout procedure. Where else are you treated to a warm shoulder pillow and lip balm while gazing out at a peaceful garden setting? This is a transformative experience for dentistry. Wish more folks would follow suit. OMG, when I left the office I forgot I was at the dentist, except I had clean sparkly teeth! Not only is the office emaculately clean, the staff friendly, you get to have a parafin wax treatment to your hands. Yes, you read correctly parafin wax on you hands. The chairs have massagers and you have a warmed neck pillow for added comfort. The equipment is all state of the art, you can wear sunglasses to avoid the bright lights in your eyes to avoid "over exposure" and Dr. Cheneweth actually does your cleaning, not an assistant.. She is very thorough and explains not only what is going on in your mouth, but how to prevent future problems. Honestly, when I got up to leave, I thought I had just had a massage. Who thought a dental experience could be so relaxing. read more

My first visit to Dr. Shelly Cheneweth DDS has been the most enjoyable and satisfying dental cleaning and examination experience. I was greeted by the receptionist right away as I walked in the door. The dental hygienist welcomed me and brought me inside. She dipped my hands in paraffin wax, placed a warm pillow over my neck and shoulder, and asked if I had any concern about my teeth. She then turned on the massager on chair and applied Chap Stick on my lips before she started cleaning. Dr. Cheneweth was so personable and professional. She performed a thorough exam and explained my dental health status and addressed my concerns. Dr. Cheneweth and her staff are competent and caring. First off , I appreciated that they were able to fit me on a moments notice. I had my first appointment with her today. I am amazed by not only the painless procedure (cavity filling), but the staff does go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable in many other ways. The receptionist was very welcoming and pleasant and offered me a beverage on arrival, once I was in the treatment room they dipped my hands in paraffin wax, placed a warm neck roll on my neck and shoulders, and put chap-stick on my lips before and after the procedure. Not only did I appreciate those little touches, but I also appreciated Dr. Cheneweth's bedside manner. She was caring, talked me through the quick procedure, and most importantly made sure I was numb before she started treating me, afterwards she took time to speak with me about the procedure and to answer any of my questions. in summary, if you are looking for a dentist in Ukiah, I highly recommend Dr. Cheneweth! read more

This week I had my first visit to this office and I am going back again. I have decided Dr. Shelly is my new dentist, even though her office is an hour and 15 minutes from my home. Everyone there is very caring and professional. Dr. Shelly has a "light touch" and is very concerned for her patient's comfort . The paraffin wax treatment, sunglasses to dim the bright light, the warmed neck pillow, the blanket for your legs, the iPod with your choice of music, and the massage in the chair - not to mention the very sweet assistant and staff....it doesn't get any better than this! read more

I had my first visit with DDS Cheneweth last week and I was impressed. The staff was very polite, the hygienist and Dr. Cheneweth were extremely professional. The only reason I did not rate as a 5 star is because it is hard to reach the office by phone. I had a tough time setting up the appointment. Let me start by saying that I, like many people do not enjoy going to the dentist. I needed to have some dental work done before a heart surgery and my dentist had moved. It had been awhile since I had been and I started asking around and reading reviews. I chose Dr. Cheneweth because of some of the reviews and boy am I glad that I did. First off the staff are all very friendly and helpful. As the other reviewer stated I was taken into a beautiful room with a relaxing view and dipped my hands into warm parafin. Then I sat in a very comfortable chair with a heated neck wrap and was give earphones so I could listen to any type of music I chose. Dr. Cheneweth is so very nice and warm and she does fantastic work. I left feeling relaxed which is a first for me after a dental appointment. I have been back several times for regular cleanings and always leave happy. Since then my husband has started going and loves it. I have recommended Dr. Cheneweth to many people and all of them love her practice. read more
