If you're coming from Route 8, find a less congested area to cross lanes to traffic for gas. There are four or five pumps available, and navigating around the parking lot can be a little challenging because the space is a little small. But once you've pumped your gas, the convenience shop is a really quick walk compared to other stations, and since they never refill the paper for receipts, you'll find yourself walking in. There is a restroom, coffee station, milkshake machine, occasionally hot food, and grab and go sandwiches. It's a nice variety. Look for sale signs, because often you can get a free bag of chips or other snack with your soda!

When I questioned the store manager he replied " our policy is that if someone isn't wearing a mask, we are to offer one. If they decline, we walk away." I almost fainted. How irresponsible is this policy. Also I'd passed the little Winstead park where there was a gathering of firemen including some from other towns. They were dressed up in their blue jackets and white hats looking dashing. The ceremony had broken up leaving 20 or so people in the non-distancing park. Out of 20, 4 wore masks. Yes. 4. I asked an intelligent masked man what Connecticut's policy was and why the majority were not masked. He told me "it's our personal preference whether or not to wear a mask". Really? That translates into " if I choose to possibly spread a deadly virus I have that right". Wrong. I was given the very same explanation at the Big Y in Great Barrington! Offer the mask. Don't want it? No problem. That is their company policy. Does everyone of intelligence want to wear these masks forever? Some have said " we have no confirmed cases so we don't need masks". Oh, so your entire town is tested on a regular basis? What about all the out of state leaf peepers? We as a nation must stick together and rid ourselves of this virus. NOW. If something as simple as wearing a mask in public will help to stop the spread, why can't everyone comply? I'm terribly disappointed in both states not to mention the stores. Obviously, the sale means more to these CEOs than people. How about educating your citizens. Here's a slight bit of advice. Don't attempt to enter any place in New York without a mask. You will definitely not be welcome and you will be asked to leave.

The inside is much bigger than I was expecting with the usual snacks, drinks, and travel stuffs.
