Only annoying this is these pumps don't seem to like my card, forcing me to pay inside. And it can sometimes be busy.. But other than that, all good!

On the southeast corner of Major Mac and Donald Cousens Parkway is this Pioneer gas station. A tidbit of information: Donald Cousens was the former Mayor of Markham. He held that position from 1994 till 2006. My parents liked him. I did, too, although I caught the beginning and end of his mayoral tenure. Naming this parkway after him was a nice touch. The gas price was cheaper than the posted price at a nearby Esso station by four cents a litre. I frequent the Circle K there. I immediately made a left turn to fill my car's gas tank here. There were a few customers pumping gas. I found an available gas pump. The problem was that I couldn't pay for gas at the pump. It was the case with all pumps that day. Luckily, the option to pay inside the store was available, so I did just that. I was at pump 8. When I was done, I walked into the convenience store. It's huge. It was nice to browse a bit before paying. There's a mini Country Style area. You can get coffee, slushies, hot chocolate, and more. There was a sign that said donuts, but I didn't see any in the display case. I love crullers from Country Style. Sadly, I didn't see any in the display case. I got a helpful man at the payment area. I said that I had gas to pay for at pump 8. I got my Journie barcode scanned for the first time. Husky got bought out by Journie at least a year ago, so I got my Husky rewards transferred over to Journie. I then paid with a credit card. Done! I thanked the man after he gave me my receipt. I headed to my car and continued my drive home. If you want cheap gas in the northeastern part of Markham, come here. It was an unexpected, pleasant find. I recommend signing up for Journie points, so you can get discounts on future gas, convenience store purchases, and more. (229)

Is this how the free market works?? Yesterday way passed midnight when all the other gas stations had their prices at 108.9 and they still keeping theirs at 99.9?! That's just so amazing. New gas stations with new pumps and love their paypass options right at the pumps. A quick tap 1 second later, I am ready to put in my gas. It was cold yesterday! This store in Whitchurch-Stouffville also has hot beverages. This Circle K is part of an Esso gas station. Next to this store is a pizza restaurant. I parked in a corner facing Winona Drive and Main Street, and walked over. This store used to be a Mac's. It has a good selection of beverages. The Froster and Polar Pop flavours were also decent, with roughly a dozen of varieties to choose from, respectively. You can get hot foods, but nothing was there that I wanted to get. There were hot dog rollers, but no hot dogs were available. There was a place to fetch pizza, except that there weren't any slices when I was there. It felt like a hot foods shortage when I was in the store. It was quite the rollercoaster set of emotions. I was thrilled that this store offered hot foods, but I couldn't get anything that I wanted. I had digital coupons for a pizza slice and a hot dog. I put them away. Instead, I used my coupon for a $2 bag of chips. The man at the counter was direct. I had my coupon scanned. I went to scan my PC Optimum card. He said that I didn't earn any points. I said that it was okay. It was habit. I paid with a debit card. I thanked him and left with my bag. Maybe it's timing. I got a medium hot chocolate (average taste) and a small bag of Circle K branded sour cream and onion chips. There are all the typical things that a large convenience store has including household cleaning supplies. There are two freezers of ice cream products and  milkshakes making machine. They do have an ATM should you need cash. They also sell lottery tickets, greeting cards, USB charging cables, sun glasses, and laundry detergent. They also have pet food. This is one of the largest Esso stations I've ever been to that isn't at an ONRoute or similar…read morestyle rest stop area off of a major multi lane highway. It includes 12 passenger vehicle pump stations as well as a separate commercial cardlock station for larger vehicles. This 24 hour fuel station includes a Country Style kiosk as well as an LCBO convenience outlet. Not sure how I feel about having such easy access to alcohol and spirits at a gas station but it wouldn't be the first one I've seen in rural Ontario. There is a large lot where a commercial vehicles can park and truck drivers can take a break.

I visited two locations close to where I live. Both only accepted cash. If you know me well, I rarely have cash on me, especially during the pandemic. I'm all plastic cards. I remembered this Esso station that I pass by often heading to and from Stouffville. I decided to try my plastic card luck up there. The place had steady business. I had no problem finding a gas pump and pulled up next to it. I have frequented the Circle K a couple of times that's a part of this Esso. Staff have always been super nice to me. The area around the gas pump was clean. I rarely fill up at Esso. You have the option of either entering your PC Optimum card on the screen or swiping your card. It's funny, but I don't know my PC Optimum card off the top of my head. I can rattle off some card numbers, such as Air Miles, Aeroplan, and my 16-digit RBC client number. I oddly don't know what my PC Optimum card number is. I'll need to work on that. I had no problem using my PC Optimum and credit cards at the pump. It was a smooth transaction with an equally smooth gas fill-up. I thank Esso for not having an issue with its credit and debit cards. I had a terrific experience and relieved that I didn't need to visit more gas stations that night! (381)

Cheaters ... crooks and crooks…read more The pomps are calibrated to pay 20% more. The people are fooled by the very low price but in reality, shows more liters pumped into the tank. Ex: An empty tank of 79 liters was filled up with almost 96 liters of gasoline. That is possible only at this station to put more gasoline in a tank than its max capacity. Never see you again. Avoid this station. You do not need to believe me. Try on your own skin.

I prefer visiting…read morethis one, as it's easy to get anywhere from the southwest corner of McCowan Road and 14th Avenue. I like that there are plenty of bays, which are wide. The lanes are one-directional. The idea is that traffic flows north, so you need to be facing that way when you pull up next to a pump. This station has a small convenience store. I don't normally buy anything there. I typically pay at the pump and leave. The only time when it gets extremely busy occurs when folks are using the car wash, trying to get salt off their car when it's winter. Other than that, it's easy dropping by, fuelling your car up, and leaving. Gas prices suck these days. This Petro-Canada posts regular gas prices.
