Take note that they are open M-F only and closed on weekends so plan your next stop accordingly. They've got salads, soups, wraps, sandwiches, pizza and more. Just a reminder everything is fresh daily and homemade! It's great if you are headed to the lake or in a hurry as they also have grab and go items in their display cases. If you decide to "eat in" there is plenty of seating inside. Oh! And I can't forget to mention this is located inside the "Melrose 1 Stop". They offer full service at the gas pumps at no extra charge. Stop by soon and you'll be greeted with a big smile from Bitzy's staff.

We turned around and drove back as we wanted something home cooked and light before getting into Alex and having dinner. We drove past Bitzy's as the branding is all Sinclair. Melrose One Stop appears on the door in faded letters. On the third pass we found it Super friendly staff explained lunch/dinner is the big meal served until 2 pm. We grabbed a Hickory bacon Chicken wrap, two built to order beef soft shell tacos and a bag of cheese curds. My son reports the wrap was very good. The tacos were simple American version but very tasty and good propositions. My wife said the cheese curds did NOT make her teeth squeak. I highly recommend sticking with the Bitzy branded goodies. I believe the Bitzy stuff is made on site. PS My rating is relative to the value and price of the food. The diner is set up in a convenience store. PSS Thank you Bitzy!

There isn't a need to enter your ZIP code, which is nice. Canadians have postal codes. I needed to fuel my rental vehicle as I was making my way up to Winnipeg from Minneapolis. It seemed like a good move to stop at his Cenex in Freeport. What I like about Freeport is the water tower. It has a happy face. I wanted to take a photo, but I didn't have a chance to. Freeport is a small city. It has roughly 700 people living here. I'm happy that it had this gas station. There was a welcome sign next to the convenience store. I liked that touch. I had no problem finding an available gas pump. I used my credit card to pay at the pump and used the handsfree option to pump away. No issues. Yay! It was clean around the gas pump that I used. I managed to toss out some garbage while fuelling. This tank of gas got me to Winnipeg without refuelling until the following day. Nice! I'd return if I need gas. I'd also return to get a photo of the smiling water tower. (484)

It really has nothing to do with the gas pumps or people, I admit it. Its this addicting personal hot stuff pizza that gets me every time I drive by. Many times, they are out but if you ask them, they will make you one fresh which really is best anyways! You can create your own and it only takes about 7 minutes. They are open 24 hours I believe and often times have good specials on other items. They are doing work on the pumps right now though ( mid October 2014) so you can not actually get gas. I would anticipate this would end shortly however.
