Our water pump went out and we knew it was going to be hard to find a mechanic on a Friday night let alone a Saturday! Thankfully we had it towed to slates corner with in 5 minutes from calling a local towing businesses. Thankfully he could fix it! First thing Saturday morning he got the new water pump and began the repair. The kids and I sat in the store chatting with the owner Darletta and her daughter Lilly. They are amazing people, made my little family feel completely welcomed. Our car was fixed by noon and we were ready to head back on our first family vacation ! The cost of the repair was extremely cheaper then what we are used to. I could not believe the amazingly fast and friendly service we received! We will always stop for gas and snacks every time we drive on hwy 12 on our way to he ocean!

Anyway, this station also has a latte stand attached to it, and has Huckleberry as one of the flavors you can get in your coffee- yummy! Love anything Huckleberries! Since it is a tourist area, once the summer has gone and fall winds down, many of the local businesses shut down for the winter. This can make finding restaurants that are open hard to find. Moclips Country Store was recommended by the staff where I was staying. They had a good variety of grocery items for such a small convenience store. I was able to try their pizza a couple times and found it to be very good. The only drawback was I had to call many hours ahead, because they hand make the pizza dough the same day. They have a pretty good selection of hot food items available, and if you want something special, your request just might be granted. Other than that, I found everything I needed for my short stay in the area. As far as other items of interest, they had a little nook off to the side that had children's books and a few board games available for purchase. If you are ever in the area, Moclips Country Store is a great little convenience store to patronize. I highly recommend!

(We found out we did, once we decided to go to Lucky Dog Casino, maybe there, they have something more decent, like fresh fish? (Somewhere there must be one, since we're on a canal!) After a food-to-go from the casino, we stopped here again, for a box of wine, and some ice cream in a package. Hubby said, he didn't find any pastries, we could eat for breakfast, in the morning. Beautiful hanging flowers, were being hanged by two cars, that just pulled in with their ladders, just in time for Mother's Day.
