The only gas station in several city blocks of South Lake Union, I was at their mercy to put gas in my car. Came here a few times for gas. Noticed that they give a discount with a Fred Meyer card. Went inside of the store, and it was like stepping into another country. Really weird vibe, not clean, unfriendly cashiers and someone not in uniform yelling in an argument with the cashier. I left without making a purchase. Small parking lot with not much room to turn around or get out. The only way to enter is while heading west on Denny or south on 99. read more

Always there when I need a quick pitstop. Staff is always friendly, and very accommodating. My trips never last long, and I am in and out with no problem. Price is right and the location is great. read more

Just your average gas station. Somewhat clean but in a difficult spot. It's not easy getting in there and much worse trying to get out back onto the road. I would only recommend going if either there is no traffic or if you desperately need gas like I did. Didn't get to go inside the store area but looked like a decent size considering its in downtown Seattle. read more

I have a short list of criteria when it comes to gas stations: that they sell Parliament Menthol Lights (shhh, I know smoking is gross) and that they have a decent selection of gummy candy. This Shell DELIVERS. If you don't have a nasty smoking habit like I do, it's worth the trip for their generic mini gummy bears. The mini ones. Not the regular ones. Funny to review a gas station, I know. But I live right next door, and the attendants here are super cool. I have gotten to know them, they are sweet, funny, and have seen me at my worst, early in the morning, before makeup and hair is done. Do not give this business your money. They will openly insult customers, and nothing seems to be their fault, even if their own equipment is not working. I stopped in this morning for gas - was almost on empty - and had to deal with bizarre rudeness just to get some gas in my car. Their machine on the pump couldn't read my card, which, while inconvenient, would be fine, but the cashier's attitude about the whole thing, and the way he conversed with me, was inexcusable. His first assumption was that my card didn't work because I must be Canadian - um, no, I'm local, I work 4 blocks from here and have for years. His second assumption was that my card's stripe must be unreadable - um, no, this card is only one month old, and I haven't had any problems with it yet. The idea that his card reader might be having trouble - trouble that he might want to look into, maybe even fix, so his customers could use it - did not seem to occur to him. Then he suggested I leave my credit card inside to go tank up - um, no, nothing about your shop or your demeanor make me think I should even let you touch my credit card, let alone leave it alone with you for several minutes! At one point, he asked if I understood him, as "I've tried to tell you three times . . ." I said "Are you insulting me?" and he tried to play it off. I put minimal money on my pump just to get out of there with a better-than-empty tank, and as I began to leave, he said "you know I wasn't insulting you, right? because . . ." and at this point I said "I need to go, I'm late for work." As I walked out the door, he said "Maybe you're upset about something else." NO, I was angry that someone I was trying to transact business with was bizarrely, unnecessarily rude, made an unfortunate situation far more unpleasant than it had to be, and had to try to get in the last word! Wow people. Go to the shell on 12th avenue, where the folks are nicer - or ANYWHERE else, really. read more

I filed a police report this afternoon after I was assaulted by the clerk and proprietor of this store. I stopped in the store on my way to work and was ignored by both gentlemen.As I left the store the clerk came up behind me and grabbed my bag and wouldn't let go.He just kept yanking on the bag! At first I didn't understand what was going on, until the older gentleman came running out and yelling at me "I know you have something in there" and began feeling my coat pockets. Then I understood. I unzipped my bag so they could see there was none of their merchandise in it. But they never apologized, and I stood there on the sidewalk feeling mugged. I am a 62 year-old woman who works at Seattle Center, and do not, even now understand why they did that to me, because my bag was tucked under my arm the entire 4-5 minutes I was in the store. What a horrible experience. Beware. read more
