Do you attend it was a female and the only one on duty when she saw I want to gas you put your cigarette out and helped me. Besides the grossly overpriced gas, the broken down pumps, the pumps that refuse to take your card, and the occasional murder... This place sucks. So, for well over 100 years people have been selling gasoline for cars from pumps. That is plenty, PLENTY of time to get it right. This Shell is still figuring stuff out. I barely had time to get gas before picking up my daughter, so I stopped by today. The card reader at the pump kept telling me I had an invalid zip code...which is the same f*cking zip code the pump is physically located in! After three tries I cancel the transaction and go inside. I had the card over and ask for Number 3. She asks me how much. Really? Well, let me just guess exactly how much gas my car will take, down the penny, because this is an idiot system. I remember the prices suck, I'm in a hurry, and I might not make it unless I get gas, so I say $10. I go back to the pump. Nothing. It's not activated. I go back inside. She stares at the register. I pull out the receipt and tell her she put it on Number 1. She starts complaining that the guy on Number 1 won't hang up the pump handle, so she can't transfer the card transaction to my pump. I ask if they're getting my gas, and she says no, she stopped the pump. She then says the guy on Number 1 said he was on Number 5, and that's where the mix up happened. Ok....I don't know how that translates into my money going on to another pump, but I'm there for gas, not for an argument. I don't care who's right, who's wrong, or who sucks, I just want to get some gas and go away. So the Number 1 guy comes in, and they start arguing about who said 5, who said 1, who said 5... If I don't care whether I'm right or not, I sure as shit don't care whether one stranger or another is right! At this point I ask for my money back. The lady there looks at me like I just grew an extra head. I said I have things I have to do, and this isn't one of them. She said she already charged me. I pointed out that she will not sell me gas, so I need my money back. She said go pump on Number 3. Finally, I got gas and got on with my life. I was 8 minutes late picking up my daughter...the first time that's EVER happened! No apology, no free car wash...Just shitty, useless not-service. I'm really mad at myself. I knew this place was crap. I've lived here 1 1/2 years, and I haven't been to this station in months. Half, and I do mean half, of their pumps are almost always broken. Their card readers seem to need a whole different way of doing business every three months or so. Their pumps are slow. Often there's creepy people about. Usually the ladies working there are really nice. This one was an exception, though frankly when I've worked for dumpy craphole places like that I wasn't the friendliest soul either. I almost went off in there. It takes a whole lot for me to reach that point. Did she really think I came over there to watch her argue with another customer over who said what? Did she really think anybody's going to believe her when she dicked up my pump number? Did she think everybody wanted to spend their Friday night watching her bicker with customers? Come to think about it, I've been pretty bad off, and yet when I screwed up at least I apologized. I may not have felt it, I may not have sounded like I meant it, but at least I made some sort of half-assed effort to acknowledge my shittyness. Everybody makes mistakes, and I don't hold that against her, but the rest of it, hell yeah I hold it against her! Unacceptable! If you make a mistake, and you don't feel like even apologizing for it, at least concentrate on fixing it first, and save the useless fingerpointing blame game for later. Thanksgiving day, traveling with the family, pulled in here for gas. The baby was sick and threw up in the car. Went inside to see if I could buy some wet wipes or paper towels. There were only snack foods. Cashier had TV on and her back to me. I got her attention, and asked her if they had wet wipes or any paper towels we could buy. She said, "no, but there are brown paper towels next to the gas pumps.". I thanked her and started to leave... on the counter, I spotted a napkin dispenser. So I said, "I'll grab some of these, too". As I reached over and took about 3 or 4 napkins, the clerk says to me in a very nasty tone, and while giving me the stink eye, "Well... don't take ALL of them!" I could hardly believe my ears. One would expect a gas station attendant to be more helpful, understanding, and friendly... especially considering this station being close to the freeway. I am absolutely appalled at the treatment I just witnessed of an adult with an intellectual disability. I was at the Shell station off the 91 and Adams and this gentleman came in to purchase something and he was asking the woman at the register what their hiring process was. It was very clear that this gentleman had a developmental disability. This woman that worked at Shell was utterly disrespectful to him and told him that she doesn't have any applications for him. He asked her if they were online and she said no, I only hire within. He didn't know what that meant, so he asked her and she told him that she only hires her friends and family. After this gentleman left, the worker started talking terribly about this gentleman, saying that he was crazy and saying that he was saying things that he never said. I told her that it was very clear that he had a developmental disability and she treated him very poorly. Just to keep it short since this a review of a gas station after all, I stopped here for obvious reasons and when I pulled in I took a few minutes trying to get ahold of my friend so I pulled in the furthest corner so as to not have anybody keep going around me. While I'm mid call I have the attendant come out and tell me in a rude tone "are you going to pump gas?". I informed her I was just on the phone really quick and she tells me that a truck behind me is trying to get diesel as if I knew there was only one side of diesel to this cramped station. Before leaving she has to squeeze in "just letting you know"...clearly you are. Glad this isn't my regular Shell go-to, 0/10 won't get my gas here again. read more

The lady i spoke to on the phone this morning said she was the mangers first of all very rude.. i only put $10 in for gas and it chagered me $30 .. and another employee said it happens all the time that some people are getting over chagered when pumping in gas. First the morons started charging $.08 a gallon for using your card, when they are already $08-$.10 a gallon higher than the competition. Now, they've increased all of their "convenience" products as well. Classic example of pricing themselves out of business. Arco or SAMs club for fuel and Mobil for convenience products as they're all priced reasonably, especially when compared to this place. The only reason most people go there is because of their location but they're a busing that and now they're losing business because of it. read more
