The lady in the cashier helped me pump my gas. I'm disabled so I needed someone to do it for me. It went very well.

Meet Oscar. He is the janitor for the Shell on Century Blvd at the LAX airport here in Los Angeles. This whole altercation started after I asked to use the bathroom on Monday, October 2nd 2023 at 6:20pm. Oscar began screaming at me in Spanish as I approached the bathroom door. I said I don't speak Spanish that well sorry. He then points at a trash can behind me and says, "key." I replied, "oh....okay the key for the restroom...thanks". So I go and pick up the bathroom key from the dirty trash can and he continues to mumble under his breath. I brush it off, use the restroom and leave. I ask him if I need to give him the key or to the attendant inside. (It's an outside restroom) He takes it and says, "Next time...(and then the rest is indistinguishable)". So naturally I turn around and say, "I'm sorry I didn't hear you?" He waves me off with his hands and says nothing. So I'm like wtf is this dudes problem? I get into my car and drive away, and out of the corner of my eye I see him CHASING my car down, mop in hand. This guy crosses 4 busy lanes of LA traffic and starts screaming at me! He hits my car with his mop and comes around to the driver side window where there is a concrete median and starts screaming at me that I peed on floor! I'm like what are you talking about you lunatic!? This guy is obviously not in his right state of mind and is completely unfit to even be employed. He runs back to the gas station, and I'm like OH HELL NO. So I make a U turn and go right back to the gas station and ask for the manager. I tell her what happened and let her know he hit my car with his mop, chased me down, and is screaming at me in the middle of the street! Like are you trying to be killed or cause an accident! She apologizes and says, "come on let's go figure this out he shouldn't be acting like this towards customers." Ummm....obviously. So we go outside where they start speaking in Spanish and after a minute or few the lady says, "It's okay sir everything is fine." I was like IT'S FINE? I was like did you not hear what I just told you? This is assault!? At this point this guy starts screaming at me and getting in my face. You guys, literally inches from my face. I'm like starting to shake like a kid! I've never had this type of situation transpire ever! This poor woman is trying to PULL HIM BACK FROM ME and I'm like this is absolutely ridiculous! He is saying he's going to physically assault me, calls me a faggot, and that I need to check the cameras. Like MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. I get in my car and am trying to call the Shell Corporate number and this dude surrounds my car! He starts taking his shirt off and surrounds my vehicle like some sort of wild animal and I'm like wtf is going on today! So all I ask is you share this so they listen. I'm not sure weather or not to file a police report or call a lawyer! Customer service was a complete joke and just kept saying it's independently owned. All I know is, don't go to this gas station. I had a severe altercation with the Speedway-Shell worker behind the counter when I tried asking about a pump's credit card reader. She yelled at me that she didn't want to talk because she was eating. Literally--she told me to stop asking her questions because she was eating. Then she said that if I wanted to be served anytime soon, I should go across the street to the 76 station which is what I did. Mark this off my list for future fill-ups. read more

I was early to pick up a friend from LAX and low on gas, so the Gas Buddy app found me this gas station. Great location and about 20 cents cheaper than the 76 across the street, I was sold. Most might consider Shell to be a better brand than no name gas or Arco which here the other two cheaper options, so this was it. Really happy that they don't charge a crazy amount just because they could. Close to airport and close to freeways, the saying is location location location! The convenience store is a small but picked up two large bottles of Smart Water for $3 not bad. Recommend this if you're near LAX, easy to get to and get out of even though Century Blvd. is a wide street. read more

I have a major fear of public restrooms. And don't get me wrong, I love the "looks" of a nice restroom at say, a restaurant or what have you, but on the whole, the idea of taking care of business where others have before, just urks me and kinda freaks me out. So imagine my chagrin when on the way to LAX, and after consuming copious amounts of filtered water on my drive there (that was for my parents, readers), I really had to tinkle. I also needed to fill up the tank on my rental car, but how in the hell was I going to get past my fears of the public toilet, let alone a gas station bathroom. YUCK! Well, after a few paces of bladder panic I decided, "ya know what, you chicken pussy bed-wetter, get over it and go take care of it." Wow, my inner voice is rude today, but it had a point, so after filling up my tank, I marched in and asked for the key and bravely went around the side of the building. "Ewhh, ewhh, ewhh" was all I kept thinking, but as I slowly put the key in and pulled open the door, I saw it! A dead body!!!! Kidding, it was a totally clean and nicely kept toilet and bathroom. Yaaaay, there is a porcelain god and he preaches near LAX. And so, public bathroom paranoia sufferers of the world on your way to travel, give this one a go, it's safe. :) read more

Second time in 7 days that I have ended up at a Shell has station. As usual, their gas prices are higher than most other places. At least this location was lower priced than the station close by. Do not recommend coming here in the very early morning hours. Several weirdos were hanging around harassing customers. read more

Besides Arco, this is the cheapest place to get gas in Westchester/LAX so I always come here. It's fast and easy for me to get gas here. I would give this place 5 stars however about 50% of the time that I come here, I'm hassled by someone that wants to con me or wants to clean my windows. I don't mind the window washers so much. However the guy that is always there trying to con people really bothers me. He has tried to con me out of money 3 times and on the 3rd attempt, I called him out on his story and that he has tried to con me 3 times before. Needless to say, if some guy comes up to you and says that him and his family are staying at the Travelodge next to the gas station and his car broke down and he needs extra cash for a tow, DO NOT BELIEVE HIM. He says that he has some cash, will show you the cash in his wallet, and say that he needs $20 more. It's bullshit. Otherwise, enjoy the cheapest gas in Westchester/LAX! read more

Saw 1 obvious panhandler. Long line to pay but cashier was pleasant. Across the street is a 76 much bigger, cleaner, more selection by far, no line and cheaper prices. read more

New pumps. Handy location, on the corner. Great place to gas up before returning your rental car. Seems like a safe location, with lots of lights. read more

Two workers lock the front door, see customers waiting, signal "be right back" and then disappear into the back for 10 minutes... with a line of customers in the front waiting. Upon return from whatever they did, they kept the door locked and waved us to the little window where they told us none of the convenience store was available. Rude and could have told the customers beforehand. The station across the street was nicer, anyway. read more

Do not go to Shell Fuels- 5551 W Century, Los Angeles, CA. The gentleman behind the counter seemed genuine enough in assisting me with pre paid gas as I had not had experience with this before, but instead he scammed me and ripped me off. So disappointed. Recommend that it's best to avoid this place. read more

Stopped in here on way to drop off rental. It was dark and I not one but 2 separate times I was yelled for my attention to give money. One was ever wearing a security vest which I actually thought he came over to help from the last guy. At this point one was at front of car and one at back. So uncomfortable. Beware!!!!!!! Card readers at the pump are scams. I tried to use my debit card at the pump, and scammers have infiltrated the card readers and stolen your debit card info. Fortunately my bank suspected and disallowed charges. I'd avoid anything but paying cash if you have to use this gas station. read more

As other commenters mentioned, there are scam artists harassing customers here. They often have a story about needing gas for some reason or another. I've heard that they just ran out, or yhat they have to go work a job somewhere and don't have enough to make it. If you don't have cash, they will offer to pull their car around. Shameless and it has been going on for quite some time. Perhaps I look gullible, but I would anticipate being approached and will now take my business elsewhere in the future. It's a shame because this is a very convenient location for rental returns to LAX. read more

Pretty sure that my company credit card information got stolen here. The card payment on the pump didnt work and they insisted on keeping my card in the store while i pump the gas. A few weeks later I have fraudulent charges on my card and need it replaced. The same happened to my colleague at this place as well. read more

Convenient location, we are at LAX almost every week so we fill up before we park. The scam artists are there every time we get gas, sometimes we see them within 2 days hassling customers with the same story. They need to get them out of there, seriously, they should be made to leave the premises. read more
