I'm a sucker for cheap coffee…read more I don't care as long as it contains caffeine, so I'll go make myself a handy half/half. This means half coffee and half of that fake coffee mix from powder quaintly labeled White Chocolate Cappuccino. And for a medium sized caffeinated drink at $1.79 compared to $4 at Starbucks, I'm all for the cheapness. In addition to hot drinks, they carry the typical range of drinks, soft drinks, bottled water, liquor, snacks, chips, candy, and even small toiletry items in the case you tourists forget to pack. There are also two clean restrooms in the back and if you are lucky, may be able to catch the local sheriff on a coffee break chatting up the equally nice (and funny) counter staff. Oh! And you can purchase Sno-Park passes for the day here ($5) and for the entire season as well :)

Adj: Diamond in the Rough Gem near Sparkling Lake Tahoe…read more This GO is a gem. I mean, it's SLT, so food's expensive here. I can't imagine living here without a GO and as a tourist/visitor, this place is indispensable too! Selection is good. Deli might be a bit lacking, but made up for w/all the snacks, sweets and treats you can find here for your SLT hikes, hangouts at the beach and other outings. I love that there are always new finds of new brands that would be an arm and leg to try at regular or organic grocery stores like Whole Foods, but they're usually discounted here and I get to try "odd" flavors from boutique and specialty brands. I didn't look as much for things that require refrigeration besides drinks and picnic items like cheeses and deli meats for sandwiches, but I saw enough shelf stable and ingredients for home cooking that I think this GO offers plenty of produce, meats, and other grocery necessities for locals. Service is quick and quite friendly. Overall, this GO is a nice and thankfully quite stable store here in SLT and it's a feature I'm thankful for.

You can't stack them to buy something big, but it's nice for small things. Can place a $12 order and just pay the diff of $2. The guy here is super sweet. I think he actually recognizes me now. Last pick up he's like DD? Sometimes they give me a different flavored White Claw or Truly, but I don't really care that much. Especially since I'm only paying a few bucks for two seltzers and a bag of chips. Parking is plentiful as there is a lot. The manager promised he would review the security footage and call me back after confirming my purchase. He never called. A week later, I went back into the store with my wife and asked him if he had called me back. He wasn't being cooperative and was clearly blowing us off, acting like we were wasting his time while he focused on other customers. As we were leaving, I flipped him off and said something like, "Thanks for robbing us, asshole." That's when the manager yelled, "Come back in here, motherf*cker." I went back inside, recording it and he immediately started telling us to leave. So we left and got into our car. The manager then came outside and filmed our license plate. About 15 minutes later, the police were knocking at our door. The officer told us that this store had previously been busted for overcharging customers for cigarettes. The owner of the store where I now buy my cigarettes confirmed the same thing. BTW -- I've known the previous owner's brother, "Mike," for over 30 years. He and his family were best friends with my mother, who went to India with them twice--once for their wedding.
