No shit, we have a placard and we were planning to buy lottery tickets inside. Well, we went inside and told the store clerk the security guard was harassing us about the parking spot. Clerk agreed with the security and told us we aren't supposed to park there for more than 10 minutes (even tho the sign outside says 20). And I restated we literally just parked , why are you telling us not to park there ?? Anyways, we left and decided to buy lottery tickets elsewhere ; where staff will not harass us for parking in designated areas. They obviously didn't want us there. Maybe they are racists against Asians? I have no clue. But The staff here is completely unprofessional.

There was an independent contractor doing it for $30 so we opted to have him install the chains for us instead. And don't get me started on how long we waited before someone approached us about the chain installation. If it hadn't been for that independent contractor, we would've waited longer. Next, the chain size they sold us was wrong. When we asked for it to be exchanged, they asked for additional $30 and took the wrong sized tires.

My car broke down late Wednesday night, and after getting nowhere with AAA, I tried again Thursday morning and eventually drove (nervously) to AutoZone for a diagnostic. They pointed me toward Kingsbury Auto for a new alternator. Called--no answer. Took a leap of faith and just drove there. Total "damsel in distress" moment the Thursday before Memorial Day, with a deadline to drive back to the Bay the next afternoon. And wow--I'm so glad I did. Elise was incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating. You can tell it's a family-owned and operated shop, and they treat you like a human, not just a ticket number. Not only did they fit me in last-minute, but Elise also tracked down an alternator and had me back on the road in about 2 hours. On a busy holiday weekend, no less. I seriously can't thank them enough. Total lifesavers. If I ever break down in Tahoe again (fingers crossed I don't), I know exactly where I'm going.

Meanwhile in the Carson Valley (where I live), it was a full $1.50 per gallon cheaper. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough gas to get back there, which of course was poor planning on my part. Other than that, the pump was modern, the receipt dispenser didn't work, and off the road and back on was easy. Same as it ever was.
