After my restroom break at Walmart in Fort Stockton, TX, I thought I might as well get some gas…read moreeven though the car had a little bit more than half of gas left. Walmart gas prices were cheaper than most gas stations that I visited so far on my TX road trip. Their gas prices were pretty comparable to the Love's and Pilot gas stations though. This Walmart gas have 2 pumps per aisle which is average. It wasn't very big though... I think about 12 pumps. It also has a very small food mart. I am glad that I can pump Walmart gas without having the Sam's Club membership. Thank you Walmart!

We are currently out of Unleaded and Unleaded Plus." Watched people drive up to the pumps and then leave; apparently they couldn't read or understand the first two words on the signs: "Fuel Available." There weren't any lines, so there were certainly enough pumps for everyone who could read and understand the signs. Everyone was pumping Premium gas, which was at a great price at that time: $3.05. We can only imagine how much cheaper Unleaded and Unleaded Plus prices would have been had they been in supply. The fuel station was clean too.

I had my truck tire blow about 10 miles east of Ft Stockton with my wife and 3 dogs in the truck. It was 3pm on a Sunday. We were still 6 hours of driving to make it home. I was able to change to the spare, but a spare won't make it 6 hours of highway driving and I needed a tire. I thought I was going to have to find a hotel and wait till Monday for a tire shop to open. Wife did a search and found Five Star Tires , open 24hrs and we headed that way. Joel had the tire we needed, gave us a fair price and provided exceptional service. He had us back on the road in about 30 minutes. Thank you again Five Star Tires! Also, FYI to others, after hours fees still exist even if they are advertised as open 24hrs - an operator is making themselves available on a Sun, or after hours to help you. Don't give the business a poor rating like one other did. This business saved me and my family a lot of grief and I'm thankful for their service. I hope I never have a blow out like that again, but if I do and it happens to be in Ft Stockton area, I know a guy.

I followed his professional advice and monitored the tires and successfully completed the journey.
