IF YOU ARE AN AMERICAN, BEWARE!! READ THIS BEFORE GOING!!!…read more They took advantage of us. Because the pump card reader was broken, I had to go in to prepay. Used a credit card, said to put $10.50 on the pump, giving us just enough to make it to Bonner's Ferry across the border to fill up there. Used the pump and it stopped at $10.50 like I asked. Moved the car out from the pumps and went inside to use the restroom. As I left the same young man that helped me prepay called me over. He said that he put it on the wrong pump and canceled the credit card transaction. I told him it worked properly, no issues. He then said I still owed them the money and the only way to pay would be with debit card or cash. He would not accept the credit card again. Would not explain the reason for this ridiculous claim, just kept repeating the same phrase. After running though this with him many times how it worked properly and I pumped the gas, I pulled out my debit card (which has an international fee). He let me use it, ran the transaction, and at the end of it said he said could not use it because it was a visa. I was upset, and showed him the card where it said Premium Debit Card on multiple spots on the card. He kept repeating it was a visa. Finally got my wife who had cash, went in and they charged a .9 conversion rate. As much as I wanted to fight this, we were borderline making it home before dark as it was and didn't want to risk hitting wildlife. He went through all of this for an extra $1 from me vs regular conversion. Not only did he put me in a very uncomfortable situation where I felt as though I couldn't leave, he actually charged my debit card too. Paid roughly $20 for 7 liters of gas. We did get our money eventually from the debit card though, but this further shows that they could have used it. The other person also at the register could help explain things too right? Nope, just looked at me the whole time not saying a word the entire time. Put a bad taste in my mouth to say the least. This place will scam you and put you in an uncomfortable bizarre position if you are American and they recognize it (probably saw my plates as I drove away to park).
