Restrooms and the store itself were clean. I like that Love's carries their own private label for many products. I've always found these private label products of theirs to be of good quality and priced lower than the brand names. This specific Love's location carried less of the private label Love's merchandise. The snacks that I wanted to purchase were unavailable here. Despite the fact that they did not carry what I wanted, it was still a nice pit stop on our way back to our friend's home.

They now have portable toilets outside and they are horrendous. I highly doubt they have them cleaned regularly. Imagine being a paying customer and have to use the restroom out in a porta potty that has no toilet paper, urine and waste all over the floor and seat, and waste piled so high, it almost overflows. Disgusting to say the least. It's like this all of the time, during holiday and non holiday trips. We're over it. Not shopping here any longer. If they were smart, they'd put at least 4 outside and have them cleaned 2x/wk during the high travel times. This seems to be the trend of moving to portable restrooms that are never cleaned.

They have a good-sized convenience mart with snacks and drinks. They also have a clean, large (maybe 6 stalls?), well-stocked women's restroom. In fact, every time I've been here there has been one of the staff cleaning and/or replenishing the paper products and soap. I suppose it happens, but I have never encountered a stall without TP, nor have I had to dry my hands on my clothes. Kudos to the employees here! Also, all the staff I've encountered have been friendly despite how crazy busy this place can be certain times of the year. Actually, I was here just a few days ago (mid-week, 4 PM-ish) and it was probably the first time I'd been here when it wasn't mobbed. It was also the first time I noticed the fried chicken. And biscuits! Since the place wasn't busy, I took a few minutes after visiting the (clean and well stocked) restroom to look around. That's when I saw the counter with the hot food - fried chicken, huge fluffy looking biscuits, mac-n-cheese, mashed potatoes, corn, etc! It looked really good and fresh for the dinner rush. Actually I wished that I was hungry so I could try some, but I was still stuffed from a ginormous burger I had back in Alamosa! BTW, if you're heading to Breckenridge from Fairplay, you might want to stop here for a break. Breck is only about 30-40 minutes away, I don't remember seeing anywhere to stop between Fairplay and Breck.
