The inside store is set up similarly to a Buc-Ees: refrigerated drinks line the wall and in one area are the hot/cold/Ice-Ee drinks. I was impressed by the seemingly low cost of the larger bottled beer selection. I love me some Shiner Prickly Pear! The cashier attendant was friendly. The store is clean and well organized. With sunglasses and hats selection, I may come through a browse the store a little longer next time.

I received a Buc-ee's dog leash as a gift, and the very first time I used it, it broke. Luckily, I have a good boy and didn't run off, which could have easily turned into a dangerous situation. I went back to the store looking for an exchange, not even a refund, and that's where things got super weird and frustrating. I was told by the Manager Miah that without a receipt, nothing could be done. But, in the same conversation, she told me the item would also need to be in "resellable condition." .... HMMMMM.... wait, that doesn't make much sense. Let me get this straight, if the product is defective and broke on first use, how would it ever be resellable? BUuuuuuut if I did have a receipt, suddenly the broken leash is acceptable for exchange? The logic just didn't add up. Miah then insisted on stressing "store policy" and that she could lose her job for making an exception. But isn't store policy to satisfy your customers and provide them with an experience that makes them want to return. That's hard to believe that taking care of a customer over a clearly defective $20 item would be a fireable offense. Come on guys, where is the use of basic common sense. The most disappointing is that I've been a loyal Buc-ee's customer. Every year before visiting family overseas, we spend $100's of dollars on Buc-ee's merchandise, snacks, and gifts to take with us. It's been a tradition, one that ended today. Completely shocked that a company valued at over $2 Billion would choose to stand firm over a $20 defective leash. How about you guys do a better job training management to handle situations like this with a little flexibility and customer-first thinking vs. scaring them into losing their jobs, which loses customers! On the floor, no toilet paper no paper towels, worse than a cat mechanic shop. JEESH, I hate to be harsh but Katy is an expensive upscale area and they are the only Closest brand name gas in all of old town Katy, I hate that I don't have a safe place that's clean. Extraordinarily cheap gas station located in Katy Texas which can often be the lowest of the prices in this area. And when that happens Barbie flips off her shoes because that's what she does when she gets super excited as you can see from the pictures. Of course I don't like giving my money to Walmart - but it's nice to save $0.10 on gas and they usually are about $0.10 cheaper than about the average. Not the cheapest in Katy but sometimes almost thereabouts.

What's the reason to have an open restroom and then not check if anyone is in it before locking it.
