Second, in my experience, they will lure you in with a $99 teeth cleaning special, then TAKE X-RAYS and say "That's it." Then they upsell for a $600 treatment plan and act confused as to why you want your money back. From their own website: "Any teeth cleaning at Carp Dental in Norristown, PA will include the following: Removal of calculus (tartar): Calculus is hardened plaque that has been left on the tooth for some time and is now attached to the surface of your teeth. Calculus forms above and below the gum line and can only be removed with special dental cleaning instruments. Removal of plaque: Plaque is a sticky, almost invisible film that forms on your teeth. It is a growing colony of living bacteria, food debris, and saliva. The bacteria produce toxins that inflame the gums. This inflammation is the start of periodontal disease. Teeth polishing: removes staining and plaque from your teeth that is not removed during routine tooth brushing." This is a lie. Third, Monica should be nowhere NEAR customers of any kind. This argumentative personality who literally can't spell HIPAA is as unprofessional as you will find. (She really did mis-spell "hippa" in communications to the Better Business Bureau and myself. Yea, real pros working over there) Avoid. Pathetic amateurs who will steal your money and not provide service. Lastly, a quote from monica herself "Unfortunately at this time i am not able to release any information without the Patient signing a HIPPA form for me to do so. I would be more than happy to give you any Information on this case as everything that was sent to you is the PT not understanding his treatment and understand how our $99 Patient Special works. Please feel free to call me at my office with anymore questions. 610-275-1565. Monica" Do you really want to trust your health to someone who will steal your money AND can't spell HIPAA ?

After completing my X-rays and consultation with the dentist, I was then advised there was "no time" left for my cleaning. I expressed my concern because only part of the appointment was honored. I arrived 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment time, so the lack of fulfillment was extremely unprofessional and showed very little consideration for patients and their time.

Extremely disappointing experience with this dental office…read more Before any treatment, I clearly stated that I did not want services that were not covered by my insurance. Despite that, I was later billed for charges I never knowingly approved and never agreed to pay out of pocket. What made this worse was the lack of transparency. I repeatedly asked for clear documentation, itemized charges, and proof that I signed for certain services they later claimed I owed. Instead of properly resolving the dispute, the account was sent to collections and reported to the credit bureaus. I already paid significant amounts directly to the office, including payment for Invisalign by credit card, yet they still pursued additional disputed charges without properly explaining them. Patients should be very careful here and request everything in writing before agreeing to treatment. Make sure you fully understand what insurance covers and what they may later try to bill you for. Very stressful experience overall, especially the handling of billing and collections.

My initial visit went well- I provided my insurance information and was provided a treatment plan detailing my costs- perfect! I was informed I would need a deep cleaning- which would need to happen in 2 sessions. I went to my first appointment early december and paid the amount outlined in the treatment plan. Easy peasy. TWO weeks later, on the eve of my 2nd deep cleaning session (and less than 15 hours before my appointment)- I received an appointment confirmation call. At the end of the call the receptionist CASUALLY mentions something about my insurance not being in network anymore and how I would now need to pay $700+ out of pocket. Girl, how are you going to call someone and drop that bomb on them 5 days before christmas? Needless to say, I cancelled the appointment and emailed them to get a more detailed explanation. Except I never got one. Instead, I received the least professional response I've ever gotten (see attached). I do not blame fresh smiles for my insurance *seemingly nowhere within a 2 week time frame deciding their office was OON* however, i DO blame them for piss poor communication. So now i sit, dentistless with half my mouth cleaned. Please be warned that while this dentist office has some of THE sweetest hygienists, and a great atmosphere, the communication here is absolute garbage between patients and their front office. Please do better!

I believe they use deceptive business practices and I fired them. In my first visit they used up my entire yearly maximum insurance and now any dental work will be out of pocket. Since this office was listed as 'in…read morenetwork' on my insurance company website, and was close by, I made an appointment for a cleaning and checkup. After arriving at the office I was asked to purchase dental insurance from the office. I took the paperwork to look it over, then went in for X-rays and cleaning. After finishing up, I was informed that I owed over $300. I said, but I have my own insurance. Was then told 'we don't accept any insurance'. First, no one indicated this to me either when I made my appointment OR when I arrived at the office. Second, as I stated, they were listed as an in-network dental office on my insurance company website. Now, I would think that a dental insurance that accepts 'no insurance' would state this on the phone, or certainly upon arrival for the appointment. Nope. The woman at the desk proceeded to BLAME ME for not telling her that I HAD insurance because if I had, 'none of this would have happened'. The woman at the desk - LISA - neglected to ask ME for my insurance when I arrived. In my opinion, any dental office that has a policy of accepting NO INSURANCE should make that crystal clear up front. Also, it was THEIR responsibility to remove their office name from my insurance website's list of in network offices. I did my due diligence and this office failed (miserably) to do theirs.. In the meantime, I found that this office has been accepting my sister's insurance for years, therefore the woman at the desk - LISA - lied. Like I said......BEWARE.
