Dr. Does not listen--staff is less than friendly... I thought that maybe it was a thing of the past but doesn't seem like much has changed.

Henderson & Walton Women's Center

I had an incredibly frustrating experience at Henderson & Walton Women's Center after being…read morereferred here following my previous OBGYN's retirement. They received all my medical records, including my history of an ectopic pregnancy in 2023 and my struggles with infertility over the past 3 years. Yet, my interactions felt rushed, unprofessional, and completely dismissive of my health concerns. The appointment itself was poorly managed. When I first arrived and put my name on the sign up sheet, I noticed that others had the same appointment time as me with the same doctor, which made the entire experience feel disorganized and chaotic. I arrived around 2:00 PM, only to wait in a crowded waiting room with little guidance. The front desk staff were unprofessional and barely communicated with me. When they finally called me up at my scheduled time of 2:30, I filled out forms I thought I should've been given beforehand, but instead they had told me to have a seat and then giggled to themselves. It wasn't until after 3:00 PM that I was called back for my appointment. And by the way, they called me and scheduled me for an annual exam, but I was told only when I was taken back to see the doctor that it was too early for my insurance to cover the Pap smear. My last Pap smear was abnormal and I had thought that this appointment was meant to be the original check up I had with my previous doctor concerning that and the procedure we had done last year. I was told by my previous doctor it was necessary to come back and check for cervical cancer again. That's frustrating enough, because why was the appointment scheduled too early to do the Pap smear in the first place, but what made it worse was that I had just received a positive pregnancy test two days prior to my appointment, taken on a Saturday night. I took another test the morning of my visit, which was also positive. I thought it was a good thing and a happy coincidence that I finally got a positive test right before this appointment. Well that was wrong. When I explained that I had a positive pregnancy test and reminded them of my ectopic pregnancy history, the doctor's response and first sentence upon entering the room with me was that my pregnancy test was negative. I don't know how that was possible, as I went home, took another positive test that same night, and 3 days later had a positive test confirmed at a clinic with an ultrasound. It felt like I was either misdiagnosed or possibly mixed up with another patient. The doctor promised to order blood work to check my HCG levels and said I would receive a call the following morning. That call never came, and even after multiple attempts to reach them by phone, I was sent straight to voicemail. To make matters worse, I checked my Labcorp account and saw that no blood work had ever been ordered. There was no ultrasound, no empathy, no concern for my well-being, no clear next steps discussed or follow-up appointment set, and I was sent out the door after a quick pelvic exam. It felt like I was just another number to them and no one took my concerns or my health seriously. I was treated with indifference. I have no confidence in their care. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for your care, as this experience was disappointing from start to finish. I understand that healthcare can be busy, but this experience was a complete lack of care and attention. I'm extremely disappointed in the way my situation was handled and will be seeking care elsewhere. Side note, I requested access to the patient portal and have not received it almost 2 weeks later. I hate to leave reviews, and in this case would have done a survey but I never received one, or messaging access in a patient portal. Other women should be aware of this anyway.

i can not get a copy of my medical records and it is prolonging my surgury. i will pay extra to…read morehave these but i just had them do it in june. i requested it in september and still december and nothing.
