Not the Sheila's drapery that was on 16 th Ave for years. Restringing my blind was and continues to be terrible just broke again three times in one year. Surely you can understand the quality of the string is poor or the blind has a spot that the string rubs on and frays. Recently, we were thinking about how things are with the team at Shelia's Drapery and decided to look them up. Both my husband and I were a little surprised to see the negative reviews on Yelp. So we decided to share our experience as well: We built our first house 5 years ago, and at the time we were expecting our first child. It was a very hectic time for us - as we were expecting our first baby and going back and forth to the home builder's design centre to decide on our finishings. We were given a choice to go with the home builder's supplier, but because the initial consultation experience we had wasn't so great; we decided to go with a friend's recommendation and arranged a consultation with Shelia's Drapery. We ended up going with them for the supply and install of our Hunter Douglas Pirouette. We can't be more than happy with our choice today. They provided a very professional consultation and made our decision-making process that much easier. When we build again, we will DEFINITELY be using Shelia's Drapery. read more

The owner Ted Knapik was rude and over 45 minutes late for the appointment. Tried to blame me for him being late because I didn't answer my phone when he called to "confirm" the appointment 1 minute before he was suppose to be there! Provided a 20 min consultation with no written quotation just "yeah that will be around 3 grand". He then called back a week later as a follow up....when I politely told him we have decided to go with someone else, he hung up on me! I'm so glad I decided not to go with this company. I couldn't imagine having to deal with this guy if there were any issues after the fact, perhaps warranty related. Very happy with who I decided to go w/ instead! read more

I saw rave reviews on the internet. At first visit, nice people. I bought very simple oversized curtain rods, reasonably priced. Everything else they quoted me was very expensive. It seemed they start highest and work their way down, sizing up how much I was willing to pay. The sales person was much nicer than the owner. The price of installing was extremely high. $14 a linear foot. It took less than 30 minutes, 8 brackets to hold the simple rail up, which does look very nice though. But, wish I knew a handyman and hired them to do it instead of paying over $300 just for the install. read more

No Customer Service - only lip service. I had bought a Hunter Douglas blind from Sheila's back in 2002. The blind flew off the wall one day, the bracket hadn't been properly installed using only one screw per bracket. When the blind crashed to the ground it shattered the end brackets so I couldn't remount. I went back to Sheila's to see about repairing the blind. One month later, dealing with 3 different people, everyone passing the buck (or blind), I still have no parts, and no blind in my front window. I was told that the parts were ordered and someone would contact me. I could have ordered new blinds and had them installed while waiting for my replacement parts. I honestly don't believe any one ordered my parts, no one has followed up with a phone call or email and they probably hope I just go away - so I will. With the economy in Calgary being what it is, you would think that customer service, especially from loyal customers would have been a priority. read more

I do not recommend this place to anyone. I am surprised by the absurd "positive" reviews Sheila's has on homestars.com, I will not be surprised if they pay the website to eliminate the bad ones. Bought Hunter Douglas blinds from them last year, the measurements were wrong. We were told that they will fix the ones that do not sit well, but it has been a year and still no response. My husband has been emailing them, and has been ignored. I called them, and they still have not returned my call. Bad customer service!!! Do not go here!!! read more

This store now seems to be under new ownership. The previous owners were decent, but didn't seem to focus much on after-sale customer service. The new owner seems to have good intentions, but lacks some customer service savvy. I would not go back here for any of new purchases. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews. I've used Sheilas Drapery twice in the last 3 years. Both times they came to my house with samples, measured my windows and a few weeks later they had everything installed. The gentleman that came to my house was nothing less of professional and was extremely knowledgeable of his products. I am super happy with the end result and would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends. read more

The representative stopped by for a quote today for the replacement of the blinds in 3 offices of our company. What a terrible experience! He was condescending and disrespectful, knocked one of the blinds down during the measurements and did not even bother to pick it up. No written quote as I requested, only a number scribbled on the back of his business card. I would advise potential customers to stay well away from this company. read more
