Chris Winfield came out to measure and couldn't be less friendly. I asked him what the width was just out of curiosity I wanted to see how close our measurements were. He told me he wouldn't tell me as he was "doing me a favour" to measure in the first place. Even Maurice in the showroom thought Chris was out of line. Then we got this short paragraph fro Chris that was supposed to be a quote that was over double than what we were originally quoted. No explanation, no numbers, just a few words and an amount. Nothing else. We phoned and were told that we chose the most expensive material. So I bet your thinking all we would have to do is go in and choose another material. NOPE!! We had to start the whole process over again. No measurements were on file, no record of the miniscule email we were sent. I suggested they call Chris, but apparently he doesn't accept phone calls on Saturday. Screw the customer, they would obviously rather inconvienece the customer then themselves. The only option we were given is to send Ashley out to start the process again. And if we didn't like our second choice, we would have to start all over again a third time. Don't waste your time with this company. Just run around and never do anything. So unprofessional

Brian clogged our toilet during the installation, and there was also quite a bit of residue left behind that we had to clean up. We ended up having to pay a plumber to fix the toilet, which was an unexpected expense. Brian did waive the $50 in tax, which I appreciated, but unfortunately that $50 deduction didn't really make up for having to pay for a plumber. Love the blinds, but the experience and cleanup could have been better.

Staff provided options of products we didn't even know existed. Patio door selections have come a long way. Seeing products in the show room was a value added. The staff experience was very evident with all their questions about the space and use to ensure that our needs would be met. They gave us an estimate in the store, came to our home, measured windows, provided final pricing and brought product samples. This guaranteed the materials and colors selected matched well with our décor. Sounds silly but white is a difficult choice, there are so many variants. Everything arrived within a couple weeks. Install was completed by very competent staff who knew exactly how to adjust for those not so square and not so level windows. We couldn't be happier with our choice, gone are the 20 year old metal blinds and verticals on the patio door. We selected Shadow Magic Silhouettes and Patio Door Vignette. They were not the cheapest quote that we received, but they "ticked all the boxes" for us. They are a long-established local company who manufacture the windows right here in Calgary. They also have "in-house" installers and this is very important to us. It adds so much accountability, in our opinion. And, of course, we had a great previous experience with this company. The quality of the product is excellent and the workmanship is evident in both production and installation. Starting with the person who came out to discuss and quote the windows, the person who came and measured the windows, and the excellent installers - we are just so happy with our decision. This was not a "hail claim" but we do have hail damage from last year. While getting the roofing and siding quotes, whenever I mentioned that we were also going to replace some windows, we were really impressed with how many of those other companies mentioned Western Windows. They gave high praise, and what amazed me the most, is that some of those companies also install windows. Wow. That says a lot!
