If you spend the night at my place and your clothing ends up strewn across the floor, I won't mind…read morethat you left your Bra in My Hall. (brainmyhall) as long as your Lane down in my bed. In fact this stadium is named after the concept... Brainmyhall Lane. First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I absolutely love Bramall Lane. It's infinitely better than Hillsborough, the other Sheffield stadium. I've seen Oxford play here (and get beaten) a long time ago, but recently I saw a Sheffield home game in League Two, and the fans were just as loud as any Prem stadium! They're such amazing passionate fans and this is just such a cauldron. I've seen maybe 3 games here and can't wait to go to a 4th, probably in 2016. I have pictures of my time here and will always consider a part of me a SUFC supporter because of these intense experiences. I've been to most UK & US stadiums, due to lifelong obsessions with travel, sport & especially footy (soccer to Americans). Born & raised in England, I followed Oxford United (hometown team) to stadia all over the country at away games, and later Liverpool (fave team) around. Every stadium review - like all my reviews - are from first-hand personal experience, usually from several visits. In 2011, I was on music tour in the UK, and visited most stadiums for fun in my spare time. As recently as Fall 2014, when I was "stuck" in UK for 3 months, I went to hundreds yet again while travelling. I have pictures of me at most, which I'll post later. Also, when back in UK I'll take more pix, and add more stadia! *** return to regular review *** This is one of the best stadiums in England, easily. It's loud, obnoxious, intense, modern and rebuilt, but old and historical. It's closed in, it's beautiful, it's fantastic. I don't even particularly love Sheffield United, but they have a hell of a tradition, a hell of a support, and a hell of a team. The Blades. Bramall holds 32k people and gets intense crowds for sure. It's right near town and is a wonderful place to watch footy. It was built way the hell back in 1855 too so it's one of the oldest grounds in the UK. Back in those days, rent for the ground was 70 pounds a year... haha. 1862 was the first footy game... Sheffield FC vs Hallam FC. England have played here 5 times. There are 10 or 12 other reviews for this stadium, but they are incorrectly under the club page for SUFC. Hopefully theywill be moved over here soon.

I like young girls, but I like Milfsmore, and this stadium is named after my preference…read more First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I visited this stadium as a kid, maybe 20 years ago... back in the days when I had pen pals, and I was up in the Sheffield area to meet one. Then I visited again as a teen, following Oxford United around, but didn't go into the game because I was distracted by a girl. However I did go to the stadium after the game and hung out with the fans and we even went inside. The away fans, that is. So I do have very good memories of it despite not being inside during the game. However I have to say that from both my trips here, it was just very average really. The new stadium they have built is superior on all levels. I've been to most UK & US stadiums, due to lifelong obsessions with travel, sport & especially footy (soccer to Americans). Born & raised in England, I followed Oxford United (hometown team) to stadia all over the country at away games, and later Liverpool (fave team) around. They tried to get rugby to move in but nothing has happened or worked. So it just sits there and is haunted by all these memories of the past. It's got a lot of problems, but the memories live on. As Milfs do.

Match attended: Sheffield Wednesday 0 Manchester City 1…read more Hillsborough Stadium is an old English football ground, and with that comes a great deal of history, some of it is truly sad and I want to pay tribute to the fans involved here in 1989. Located in the Owlerton area of Sheffield, it's three miles from the city centre. Although some fans might make the mistake of getting off the tram at the Hillsborough stop on the Supertram network, remember not to do this as the nearest stop is infact Leppings Lane, which is the road the stadium is located on - rather confusing given the stadium name is a good 25-30 minute walk from the tram stop of the same name! It is an old stadium so they do have pillars holding the stand up in certain awkward areas which give a restricted view at certain parts. A capacity of 39,732 which is restricted to 34,854 for security reasons surely is too much for Sheffield Wednesday, only Elland Road in the EFL Championship has a larger capacity currently given the security restrictions. I did find this to be one of the worst stadiums I've visited, which for such a large stadium is unacceptable in terms of disabled access and the age of the stadium, regardless of being built in 1899 with many modernisations since then is unacceptable - approaching the stadium from Hillsborough Park there is a large fence which stewards refuse to move as "it's locked and they can't unlock it" until after the game, which would leave a disabled person stranded. In the stadium ground its-self, there is a great number of steps also from this approach and when I asked the steward the best way to get in he merely just pointed, which eventually caused me to be late to the game by around 10 minutes, which was truly frustrating given I had allowed plenty of time to get there, it was such a kerfuffle. The disabled seating area also is pretty bad, the stewards allowed numerous fans to stand all over which would block disabled spaces with the "carer" tickets being forced to stand if they want to watch the game - Hillsborough really is in the dark ages in terms of stuff like that. I'm so glad my team Manchester City got the win as that made an awful stadium experience as a spectator slightly less to my attention but still this stadium needs to be improved in so many areas from disabled access to making transportation clearer and stewards actually show some form of care, rather than sitting back with a lazy attitude "I would tell you to go this way but there are steps so just go around the stadium". The older Brammall Lane, interestingly home to their cross-city rivals Sheffield United is much better on all fronts as a spectator, so I'm glad it is Sheffield United in the Premier League over Sheffield Wednesday but even for a Championship club this ground is well below standards other than on capacity which they still can't fill, the match experience lacked atmosphere with tonnes of empty seats based on a turn-out of just 20,000.

First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I've been here to see Sheffield Wednesday play twice, but more importantly, I come here whenever I am in Sheffield, as a pilgrimage to remember 96 Liverpool fans who died right here in 1989. That's not why it gets a 2-star. But the place is still truly run down. The horrors of the past were not properly learned from because it's never been wholly renovated as it should have been. As such it remains a harrowing reminder... seeing games here is intense and cool... but when nobody's playing, it reminds you of some very painful things. I've been to most UK & US stadiums, due to lifelong obsessions with travel, sport & especially footy (soccer to Americans). Born & raised in England, I followed Oxford United (hometown team) to stadia all over the country at away games, and later Liverpool (fave team) around. Also, when back in UK I'll take more pix, and add more stadia! *** return to regular review *** So this stadium, it's really hard to write a review of it as a Liverpool fan, for obvious reasons. But even without that incident, the fact that it was such a dangerous place to watch football means it'll be hard to give it a high rating now based on what it once was. Then you also have to look at the policing, the ambulances and the stewards. And the fact that the stadium was such a death trap. And they just kept putting games there. I'm going to give the FA, the South Yorkshire Police, and so on, a 1/5, but I'll give this stadium a 2/5 just because they've made it all-seater and safe now. But the corners still aren't filled in, and it may be the biggest stadium in England outside the Prem, but it's far from one of the best. It can hold 40k and opened in 1899, but Bramall Lane is a much better stadium on every level. It hosted 4 games in the 66 World Cup, and then three Denmark games in Euro 96.

First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I was friends with a player (Taggart), or rather my Dad was. I went to see them play here when I was a kid and then came back for another concert in 2011 when on tour. Both times, the crowd was loud and intense, and both times, Barnsley were held to a draw. The crowd aside, I think it's a fantastic and underrated stadium that manages to keep the noise in. It's a real credit to League One, which doesn't have many facilities this good. I always loved coming to this place, to see games or otherwise, and look forward to the next time I get the chance. I've been to most UK & US stadiums, due to lifelong obsessions with travel, sport & especially footy (soccer to Americans). Also, when back in UK I'll take more pix, and add more stadia! *** return to regular review *** This is one of the more impressive stadiums outside the top two tiers, probably because it's historically been inside the top two tiers. The stadium houses a team, Barnsley, who have never really achieved greatness or punched at their weight, spending one solitary season in the top flight, one time, and it went pretty badly. They've won a few play off finals but no silverware. Their stadium is much more impressive than the team's track record. There are 3 or 4 other reviews for this stadium, but they're incorrectly placed under the "Barnsley FC" listing, and should be moved here since they're not about Barnsley FC and only about this stadium. One of the tiers is totally huge, kind of like my exs when I broke up with her. Nice hills in the background and a really impressive stadium, but some of the sides are not yet closed in and so I'll keep it as a 4/5 but it's very close to being a 5 with a few modifications.
