We had Mr. Rooter come out to take a look at what we thought was a fairly straightforward plumbing…read moreissue. After looking things over, they quoted us around $2,800 and told us it would take two technicians most of the day to complete. They also said they would have to cut into our bathroom wall, which immediately made us nervous. Before committing to that kind of expense and disruption, we decided to get a couple of second opinions. Both plumbers we called came to the same conclusion: the repair was simply an elbow replacement under the house. Neither of them could understand why opening up the bathroom wall would be necessary. We ended up hiring one of those companies, and they had everything repaired in about an hour. The final bill came to just over $750, and the repair was completed without cutting into any walls or creating unnecessary damage. I'm glad we trusted our instincts and got other opinions. It saved us a significant amount of money and avoided a much bigger job than what was actually needed.

A while back I called A&A Mechanical to service my Generac generator. I called Generac directly as…read morethe home I bought this year came with a large generator. I have never had a generator before and didn't know what needed to be done on it. They gave me a list of companies that service their generators near my home, and A&A was a company within my town. I called and scheduled an appointment with them in a few days. What was great was that I found out from them, that they used to service the generator for the old owner of my house. They came, performed service on the generator and set it up so I get it serviced once a year. Technician was friendly and explained to me how my generator worked, how it would test the system every week, pretty much gave me a lot of useful info. I am very glad I did get it service because two weeks later, my area lost power for an entire day. Seems some squirrel(s) messed around a nearby electrical substation. Immediately my generator kicked in... and it's an amazing generator powered my entire home! I so could have used this when I lived in Miami during hurricane season! If I didn't get it serviced, I would have been without power and I would have lost a stand alone freezer and a refrigerators worth of food... so I saved a lot of money! If you have a generator, get regular service.... and get it from A&A! Seems also per the website they also do work in plumbing, heating and A/C... so something to keep in mind too.

ETA: I was contacted by Korte and we discussed the issues that have occurred in the last 2 days…read more They offered to send a technician out this afternoon , and I agreed to let him come. He was here a little over an hour, and repaired the capacitor in our compressor that was the issue with our air conditioning. He was professional, kind, and did a great job. He got our compressor up and running, and our air conditioning is now running again. They followed up to make sure everything was as expected, and after the original failure in communication and service, they put it right. I wish we hadn't had the issues with them that we had originally, but I do appreciate that they were quick to offer to rectify the problem, and provided top notch service. Original: Last summer we scheduled a service call to check out AC unit. I advised at least three people that the AC unit we have is not a traditional AC system. They all told me they'd send a technician that could work on it. A young man showed up and advised he didn't work on those systems and had never seen one. He cleaned our compressor, refused to check anything in our attic and then left. Fast forward to this week. Our AC goes out Friday and I scheduled an appointment via their website for Monday morning at 8am. Monday noon rolls around, nothing from Korte. I call and ask about arrival time. They can't guarantee me anything and left me on the schedule. Monday evening, around 7pm, I get a text that my Monday appointment was now moved to Tuesday. On Tuesday, I received another text that they weren't going to make it on that day either (so many emergencies for people without AC - yeah, like us) and we needed to reschedule again. We decided to go with another company, and will use them for any and all heating or cooling needs going forward. DO NOT use Korte. The customer service is non-existent, and if you can get someone out to the job, they won't know what to do. They cost us at least three business days of getting our system fixed, and additional days because now we have to get slotted in with another company.

We were recommended Korte about 10 years ago, and at that time, the technicians, customer service,…read moreand quality were all excellent. Sometime around 2023, we noticed a significant decline across all three areas. The worst issue happened twice: our annual inspection checks were cashed, yet our appointments were later cancelled for nonpayment. Did they bother to call us to let us know the appointment was cancelled or inform us that payment hadn't been received? No. It wasn't until a calendar reminder went off that I had to call them myself. Despite this being their error, they could not fit us in for months. Because of this delay, our AC was inspected at the end of summer rather than mid-spring when it should have been done. Its frustrating dealing with such disorganization when they used to be better. It is clear that management does not care about these mistakes, which is why I am giving this a poor rating. Based on these changes and price hikes, I would recommend finding a locally owned HVAC company instead of one that has been bought out and having all its value extracted, likely to be gutted for parts.
