I have used Sheerman's Appliance repair for many years and did not think twice about calling them when my refrigerator stopped chilling food. I have had many 5 star experiences with this business and have referred them several times. Because it was a refrigerator issue, they gave me a same day appointment which was great news. The technician called and arrived on time and started to pull the refrigerator out. When he saw me looking at my nice wood flooring with concern he asked if it was okay to move the fridge and I responded with "if you have to". It was only then that he asked me if I would like him to use a floor protector to reduce scarring my floors. Umm, yes, I would like that! I shocked that he considered moving it without protecting the floor. He diagnosed the starter for the compressor as being the culprit and offered to replace it for $190. Unfortunately he misdiagnosed the problem. The owner Mike came over and found a known issue with the exact refrigerator that I own. read more

Sheerman's was great years ago with a repair and I probably rated them highly. But today, when my fridge started leaking all over my kitchen floor, I called their main number after 8am (when they open), and left a message requesting someone to come out. Since I received no reply for four hours, I called again, this time to their cell number. Again, no reply. I finally called them and canceled because I'm going to call someone else. read more

I found them because I had a receipt from a repair to the same machine 15 years ago. The name has changed to Angelic Appliance repair, but the number is the same. Mike bought the business and it's as good as it was 15 years ago. They responded to my text for help, scheduled me right away, the tech showed up right on time after calling me to say he was on his way, asked what the issue was and got right down to it. He found the problem with the dryer in about 10 minutes, quoted me a price to repair it, I approved, he did the job, and buttoned up in about 20 minutes. Sheerman's is also Angelica/Sheerman's Appliance Repair. We called them to check why our dishwasher was still not working correctly after another firm had worked on it. They found a defective diverter valve - got replacement part in two days, and now our dishwasher better than new. I say this since they also "leveled it" correctly and shelves no longer slide out. Fantastic work!! Just had them out yesterday to fix clothes dryer - half and hour later and it works again !!! These are our go to appliance repair folks! Our refrigerator was leaking water from the inside. I called Sheerman and spoke to the owner of the company. The owner said the cause of the leak was probably ice clogging the defrost drain hole. Mike from Sherman came out the following afternoon. He confirmed the initial diagnosis of a clogged defrost drain hole. After fixing the problem he determined what was causing the drain hole to clog. This impressed me. Most companies would probably just fix the problem and not bother with determining the cause. When the refrigerator door was closed there was a gap between the door and refrigerator which was somehow causing ice to form on top of the defrost drain hole. Mike fixed the door by removing it and putting it back on correctly. We were told we should get another 10 years out of refrigerator. Sherman does a lot of warranty work for different brands. There is no charge to come to your home if repair work is done. read more

I found Sheerman's on Yelp (of course). Decided since he was local with great reviews I'd call them first to help with a leaky ice cube maker. The refrigerator is 17 years old and I was afraid they wouldn't be able to fix it. Got an appointment quickly and Noah came out to assess. Noah was a real pro, he assured me that he would be able to take care of it and tried to find the least expensive model of ice maker that would work. Called me back same day even though booked out a week. Mike showed up on time...took apart my washer...pointed out the problems. Of course, when the repairman comes, the washing machine has no problems and works! Wouldn't you know, a wasted service call! I have a ripped feel so the washer leaks a little bit of water, but Mike suggested I don't spend the money to replace it in case the washing machine breaks down again in the near future and it wasn't a critical fix that affected the washer as it has been that way for years. I was only charge $55 for the service call. He did not try to upsell me, and he said the computer works fine and everything looked good other than the ripped seal. Mike didn't attempt to sell me a new motor to be proactive about it breaking down. He just said it looks good and hopefully it will continue to work. I like his honesty, and the fact that he didn't try to sell me expensive, unnecessary services nor accessories that I didn't need. Steve from Sheerman Appliance arrived as promised to repair our Jenn Air Pro Style gas range. Steve replaced a broken burner valve and was in and out in less than hour. Another less honest company referred to me by Jenn Air stated that the cost of the repair would also entail moving the stove away from the counter for an additional $100.00. "The Refrigerator Whisperer..." Wonderful experience with Mike from Sherman's Appliance Repair. Spent time on initial phone call helping to diagnose the problem with our ten year old refrigerator, which died over the weekend. Then scheduled appointment on day of call. Arrived exactly on appointment time, calling 30 minutes ahead. Rolled out the French Door refrigerator, carefully placing floor mats to protect wood floor. Discussed probable cause of repair, and confirmed it was broken starter. Did more diagnostics, got part from truck, and we were good to go. Sherman appliance is a 5 star super service company. Steve, the owner, is a very fair and honest guy and will tell you if he can or can not repair an appliance. Our freezer was leaking water and after looking on Yelp for someone with great reviews, I found Sheerman's Appliance Repair. Steve was awesome! He was extremely knowledgable, professional, polite, efficient, clean and very careful in regards to moving the refrigerator on our hardwood floors. Before Steve arrived I searched internet forums where most people were saying they paid about $120 for a similar repair, and I was very surprised when Steve only charged $85. Second Updated Review: 5/8/2013 So we ended up getting a call back from Mike and that raised their review back up to 4 stars. He was very honest in letting us know that what happened to our washer was extremely common in Cabrios and that getting it fixed may not even be worth it because for just a little more than it cost to get it fixed and get the parts replaced we could buy a whole new washer and it would probably happen again in a couple years anyway. He was even kind enough to recommend particular brands for front loads if we wanted that and he let us know they would take a little more maintenance to keep them from mildewing and then recommended brands for top loaders. My dishwasher was making an awful noise so I cleaned out my dishwasher's chopper (internal garbage disposal) and found a bunch of hard pieces of plastic. A week later the circulation pump engine seized probably due to the stress the motor was in... long story short I had the dishwasher a part and needed to buy a motor and a housing. At this I was already in the dog house with the wife so I called Sherman Appliance. They ordered the motor and housing cheaper than I could get it myself and installed it for a VERY reasonable price. They are such honest craftsmen i'll find it hard to take on any DIY projects involving appliances in the future. These guys are as good as it gets. read more

My almost new Maytag washing machine stopped working. Steve came out and gave me the diagnosis. It was either one part or the other of which both cost approximately $200.00. He returned to replace the part and after trying one part and having it not work correctly he went ahead and replaced both at no additional charge. He gave me a $200.00 part for free just to keep his word on the estimate. I am more then pleased with Steve and his service. I wouldn't use anyone else for any appliance that I own.
