Shear Bliss - Love my highlights from Dhayna~she's the best!! - Hair Salons Near Me - Kailua, Hawaii

Dayna did a beautiful job with my hair color and cut. She is a gem. And her prices are right!

Dhayna is very very talented! Highly recommend her. Shes a hidden treasure in Kailua. Excellent hair cut, very experienced and knowledgeable for my high maintenance hair and she's great with kids and read more

Alright hair cut. Not the best not the worst. But, 3 stars because you pay quite a bit for a so so hair cut. I had a simple trim and just bangs. No layering or anything fancy. I have thin straight hair. No wash as well because I had already washed. So super simple hair cut over 75 dollars not including tip and I always tip so close to 90 for a so so hair cut. Was a bit much. Just go to any run of the mil chain hair cut place for same quality and cheaper price which is what I will do next time read more

Never been so happy, excited and relieved to get my haircut after months of social distancing and shut down of businesses such as salons. Mahalo to Dhayna for fitting me in and doing a great job of unloading inches of hair from my stressed out head and giving me some awesome face framing highlights. The salon was outfitted with divided panel/curtain between the 2 stations. All the stylists wore masks as well as the clients. Everything was properly disinfected and I felt safe getting my hair done. No blowouts are allowed right now and perfectly ok with me. The salon is located off of Oneawa. There are a few parking spaces in back or park on the residential side street. Pricing reasonable. $45 for haircut with shampoo and deep conditioning. read more

Steph did a fantastic job on my 14year old. Beautiful cut with the most beautifully blended highlights. Perfect and natural for a 14 year old ! She texted us when we were clear to come in - took temperature and wore her mask . Sanitizer available and used ! She took extra care to help us feel at home and relaxed . Felt fine leaving and returning when done . Thanks Steph for a wonderful job . She's thrilled ! read more

Dana, who owns Shear Bliss is truly wonderful. Not just at her job, but in her care of her clients. I take my 99 year old father to her for haircuts. She's incredibly kind and patient. She never makes him feel like he's too slow or unimportant. And he always looks so great when she's done. read more

Got the groupon. To my surprise, she fit me in the same day! She owns the salon, and she is absolutely amazing!!! She definitely gave me a cute haircut... I was looking to change my usual one up and she cut shoulder length with layers and blunt bangs and it is adorable! Not to mention much faster to style ! The lowlights didn't take, but I had the same issue with another hair dresser so I think it's my hair... But she was able to darken my blond a bit and even the color with the roots... Really cute..... Steph is the most amazing person... She's 3 years younger than me, owns her own salon, and she goes to the Shriners hospital to cut hair for the older people there... She also takes care of several of the homeless people around her shop out of the goodness of her heart.... Every now and then I am blessed to meet the most generous and kind hearted people, it renews my validation that there is good in the world. read more

I've been coming to this salon since 2014 and have NEVER been disappointed. No one could ever get my hair the color that I wanted until I came to Steph at Shear Bliss. I was so happy that she "got it" on the very 1st visit and ever since then, without a doubt I put my FULL TRUST in her! She really listens, processes, and executes on what your hair needs and wants are. She is always very upfront about any questions that you may have (price, length of appointment, etc...) and is so pleasant to talk to...and did i mention she did my hair and makeup for my wedding too?! And not only do I go to her whenever i need a touch-up of my highlights and a haircut...my brother goes to her for highlights and haircuts, and my 5-year old son as well. My son especially is known to be a hyper kid, but from the age of 3, my son has been so comfortable with steph and you can tell that she is GREAT with kids. Now tell me, where can you find a salon where the owner is great with adults AND kids? Nowhere!! I'd definitely recommend Steph to anyone :) read more

Friendly service with a smile. This is where I go to get my hair cut. The new owners are excited to build new clientele. They have been hair stylists locally for many years and decided to pursue the American dream and start their own business. Please support Hawaii's small businesses and the U.S. economy by supporting our local owners. This is how we grow our economy. Mahalo! read more

Shear Bliss - Dhayna, in the middle of a hair cut. - Hair Salons Near Me - Kailua, Hawaii

Just brought my two little boys in for haircuts. They are energetic 2 & 4 year olds and I'd let their hair get pretty long since I didn't want to deal with the potential drama of cutting their hair myself, or bringing them somewhere where the 2 year old might make a scene. Dhayna was wonderful. She gave both boys great cuts. They wanted short and spiky 'dos like Daddy's, and Dhayna delivered. She's got great calm mom energy so even the 2 year old was pretty relaxed and let her do her thing. It's a small salon and we had the place to ourselves, which was kinda nice. I didn't have to worry about my kids' antics bugging another client. read more

It's been 4 years since I originally posted my review here. Same deal, Dana is amazing and I have nothing but great things to say. She is my hair stylist even though since having a child I dont go as often as I should. They will always be my go to. read more

NEVER AGAIN! I went to the salon this morning with my hair color looking pretty decent. I left looking like a child just dyed my hair. A child with a heavy hand on the cheapest bleach they got a hold of. I asked for a honey blonde and said several times that the only thing I did not want was to go any lighter that it was. I then showed Stephanie this picture as an example of what I wanted: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/7d/c7/1e/7dc71e65d0955e1a1fbc1ff5dee96246.jpg She proceeded to explain me this really complicated procedure that was necessary and mentioned nothing about price, which we already had agreed on. I trusted and allowed her to use her professional "expertise" to get me what I wanted. My hair has about five different colors and the ends are "pulverized" bleached so I will have to chop them off now. The disaster visit included a mediocre haircut too. Once again, I could have done it better myself. Well, that said, we all make mistakes. When I express how unhappy I was she did offer to fix it. However, she blamed on me! She said that she went with the picture I showed her (do you see bleach blonde on that picture?) and that she could only do so much with "my budget". Mind you, she charged me $200 for this ordeal, $40 more that we had agreed on. If she could not have done the job for the price we agreed on, why wasn't she upfront with me? Still, she increased the price and did an awful job. As polite as I am, I expressed my feelings, paid, tipped and walked out the door with a bleach blond pulverized dead ends hair with stains of red and brown on the root. My advise: save yourself the trouble. read more

My hair is easy. I got a wash and cut in 30 mins. Got curly hair so I don't need a dry. Cute place to go to in Kailua. Recommend!

I don't like my hair cut, one side looks a little choppy where a layer is. The other side of my head is fine.... Its just weird, it really bugs me. read more

Love this place!! Steph and Dhayna are awesome!!

I found Stephanie by using a Groupon and have been coming back ever since - almost four years. I'm a challange in that I don't know what I want - only that it shouldn't be too short, has to be able to go up in a ponytail, and I'm no good with the blow dryer or iron. Somehow Stephanie did a perfect cut. Even my kids noticed and loved it! I text Stephanie when I want an appointment and she always gets back to me right away. Oh - she also does a great eyebrow wax! Stephanie is a great stylist but also a super honest and positive person. I always feel good about myself when I walk out! read more
