Their physical therapy has allowed me to get off pain medicine and get back to life, chasing my puppy and scurrying around like I used to. The PTs and athletic trainers have the sense to know when you're genuinely hurting, but push you once you're doing better, to actually get you strong again --no "going through the motions" b.s. You'll leave with that "tired in a good way" feeling. You take for granted how critical your back is until it's crushed and you're lying in bed with a brace so tight you can't breathe. This is some serious selfcare with a legit purpose.

He referred her to PT without an MRI or a diagnosis and seemed most concerned with receiving payment- to the point of making her stand on crutches for 20 minutes at a time while he had the office staff check and recheck her hardship application with the main hospital. He promised to prescribe her a wheel chair and then never followed up on it. Very bad attitude.

I've worked with Stephany mostly, but also had a session with Katie. Their training (MPT, DPT) and experience (24 years for Stephany) enable them to home in surprisingly quickly on causes of pain. My right shoulder has been really hurting after a fall. The usual culprits, muscle trauma and arthritis, are major sources of this pain. But Stephany soon realized that a pinched nerve in my cervical spine is also causing substantial pain. She's given me a menu of stretching and extension exercises that are simple and effective. And after she has worked on--manipulated--my shoulder for a while, I leave PTSMC feeling decidedly better. Katie worked with me one time when Stephany was unavailable. She had thoroughly discussed my problems with Stephany beforehand, and I got the same level of expert therapy guidance from Katie as I had experienced with Stephany. Stephany and Katie are pleasant and patient. Sidney and Sam at the front desk are pleasant and invariably helpful. The studio itself is bright with plenty of outside light streaming in through the windows, well laid out, and clean. After years of physical therapy that was annoying, but necessary, I consider myself very lucky to have come across PTSMC, where I actually look forward to my physical therapy sessions. In 2014 he did my left hip, in 2019 my right hip and in 2020 my right knee. All were total replacements. I could not be happier with each result and recommend him unconditionally. All of my surgeries were at the CJRI at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. While there I talked to several nurses and PT's. All agreed he was one of the top 2 or 3 orthopedic surgeons doing hips and knees in the area. He appears to do a very large number of hips and knees which is one of the things one wants in an orthopedist doing such procedures. My experience, and theirs, was that he combines an excellent surgical technique with a warm bedside manner, spending as much time answering questions and explaining all options and answering questions. I also found all the group's staff to be exceptional, from the PA's to the surgical schedulers. I cannot recommend Dr. Kennon more highly.

I was absolutely shocked when I tried to see a doctor yesterday at this location. After waiting for…read moremy turn at the reception desk I was turned away because although I have Connecticare, because I have it thru Access Health (Obamacare) they don't take it. However they do accept Connecticare patients who do not have the insurance thru the exchange. Even the receptionist was apologetic. I had the option of paying $250 for a visit which I declined since I do have insurance. She wrote out the names of other places I could go to get looked at. I just drove home feeling humiliated and embarrassed. I contacted the State insurance department to ask if this was legal? Sounds suspicious to me.
