Unprofessional and chaotic host. Here's why you shouldn't book an apartment through them. After our reservation in Barcelona was confirmed, we provided the information about the guests. But afterwards we've been asked several times to provide the same information. The communication went through the AirBnB, then moved to WhatsApp before moving back to the AirBnB, then continued through both channels. In the reservation it was mentioned how an agent greets the guests and hands over the keys (it costs 30 EUR btw.). The time of the check-in got moved several times. We wanted at 15h, they suggested 13:30. After waiting for about half an hour, I called, and they told me that we have check-in planned at 15h?! They then said that they could send someone at 15:30. But just after 30 min someone called to say the agent couldn't meet us and asked to pick-up the keys from a safety locker "5 minutes" away. This turned into a 10 minute taxi ride which we paid. However, we weren't able to enter the apartment because someone changed the locks. We even heard a dog barking behind the door. Everything was so fishy. Our reservation got promptly cancelled and the host stopped communicating with us instead of offering help. It was not funny at all. In February, without accommodation. They even told me that I am respectlos. Really?! Although we got our money back we had to find a solution ourselves. Zero stars! read more

Aléjense de esta agencia, ¡no confíen en ellos ni siquiera para alquilar un piso sólo un fin de semana! No solo no son profesionales, sino que son unos tramposos en serie. Mi experiencia en detalle: Reservé uno de sus pisos en paseo sant joan (vivo en Barcelona, y quería que mi familiares que vienen a visitarme estuviesen cerca de mi casa el finde), depositando un anticipo dos meses antes de mi fecha de llegada. Sólo 5 días antes de mi llegada, SH Barcelona me envió un correo electrónico cancelando mi reserva. Dejando a 4 personas tiradas 5 días antes de la fecha de llegada en Barcelona. Sólo después de mil llamadas y e-mails de queja me proponen como solución un piso peor pegado al Raval (no sólo alejado de donde lo había reservado, sino también peligroso para personas mayores que no conocen la ciudad ni el idioma). Pues bien, pedí de buena fe la aplicación de su ARTÍCULO 6 DEL CONTRATO: "POLÍTICA DE CANCELACIÓN": que dice así: "Si usted desea cancelar su reserva tenga en cuenta lo siguiente: Si usted nos informa con una antelación superior a 30 días antes de la fecha de check-in, se le cargará el 50% de la paga y señal. Si usted nos informa con 30 días o menos antes de la fecha de check-in, esto implica la pérdida total de la paga y señal. En caso de incumplimiento de la reserva por parte de la empresa se aplicará la misma política de cancelación." Que sepan que la norma solo se aplica si el cliente cancela, si ellos cancelan no les importa y no les pagan NADA! solo anularé esta reseña cuando cobre la cantidad a la que tengo derecho según el art. 6 del contrato! sinvergüenzas! además ya les he denunciado a las autoridades competentes. la respuesta es mentirosa como ustedes! no han pagado nada por la cancelacion de mi reserva!!!!!! read more

If you think the reviews are too good to be true, it's because they are. For every negative, real review, this company has 10 fake positive ones to follow it. That's how desperate they are. I nearly had to take legal action to sue this company, who also owns ShMadrid, for scamming me. Wasn't until I threatened with the law did I get my security deposit returned, 2 months after having moved out. ShMadrid violated the terms of our contract with a late return. Went back and forth claiming they "sent" the money for weeks. If I didn't keep reminding them to uphold their terms of the contract, they would have tried to get away with stealing €2700+, since I live in the United States. Further, ShMadrid does not accurately regulate their utilities. They took a large amount from my security deposit for gas using an "estimated" cost on the bills. Meanwhile, I was never in the apartment and was traveling so it is impossible that my gas consumption was as high as the amount charged. Highly doubt that "utility" money is going to the actual owner of the apartment. They have tried to suck as much money out of me as possible and have been unkind, irresponsible, dishonest, and aggressive. They will do whatever they can to gaslight and shift blame on to the customer. Here are some horrors that happened during my stay: - Loud construction right next to the apartment took place in the early hours every day. The agency NEVER disclosed that construction was taking place or that it would be a huge disruption. - On the first days, there was no heat in the apartment in January. Agency is unresponsive. Claims they "shut their phone off", even though WhatsApp messages were delivered. They also claim 24/7 support. (All lies). - Locked out of the apartment multiple times due to faulty keys and refusing to change the locks on the door. - Charged €100 for a door knob that broke off due to the apartment being incredibly old (wear and tear). All they did was glue the same door knob back on. - High-speed wifi stopped working a couple months into our stay. Never fixed and still paid wifi bill. - Called my roommate and I "unprofessional" and tells us we "are not a priority" when we ask for basic assistance, like returning our 2 month late security deposit. I can go on and on about the verbal abuse and lack of professionalism from this agency. - Sneaked in extra "WiFi" charges that we already paid for. Luckily I had receipts of having paid prior. Constantly had to check if I was being charged correctly. - Maryana and Augusto are the most rude and entitled "professionals" I have ever spoken to. They are undeserving of the huge agency fee they charge, as they don't do any work at all except collect your rent on their own time. They are grossly incompetent and make every situation difficult for you, the customer. Most of the reviews on here aren't legitimate either. 90% of the positive reviews are from either 1.) people that work at the company (Nico, Ricardo, Luz, and Sofía to name a few fake reviews), 2.) friends of people that work at the company, or 3.) fake accounts (notice all the accounts with capital lettered names, 1 review, and no profile picture). This is against EU law "Unfair Commerce Practices Directive", which requires websites to present truthful information to consumers to ensure an informed decision. Using fake reviews from people that have not actually used ShMadrid's service is a conflict of interest and I hope this company suffers the consequences. Had this agency treated me with respect and followed the terms of the contract, I would have been happy to refer a friend to rent the apartment right after my stay, as she expressed interest in the place. However, I would not wish renting from this agency on anyone. Dishonest business. Overall, really disappointed. I hope this company gets shut down for all of the illegalities. P.S.: As soon as I posted this review on Google Reviews, the Google Reviews page suddenly had 10 new 5 star reviews from fake accounts and friends of the company to try to drown out my negative review. Huge disappointment at the end of contract. If you're planning to rent with Sh Barcelona, you need to be aware of these facts: - they charge a fixed amount of money (e.g. 75€) and they calculate the difference between the actual cost of water and electricity AFTER the end of contract! This way you will NEVER know how much they're going to be charged in your deposit before the end of the contract. Therefore make sure of asking them to provide you with details month by month. - slow intervention when you need help: they take days to send a technician after you report a problem - if you book online make sure of checking out the apartment with an Sh Barcelona agent. TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING (mattress included!) since they might charge you for stuff you didn't break at the end of the contract Being Sh Barcelona a very expensive agency, I was surely expecting a better service... I have just moved in to my new apartment, and have had somewhat of a bad experience. To make it short: - The images on the website are very misleading, and are taken so that insufficiencies are not shown. (It is not possible to see the apartments before you move in) - The apartment hadn't been cleaned at all. (e.g. rotten food in the pantries, sticky dining table & dusty floor) (I have gotten a 50% discount on the cleaning fee when I move out) (You decide if that is enough) - AND THE WORST THING. The kitchen has mold, and that's a lot of mold. Besides being unhealthy, I smells at lot. It is impossible to used the kitchen for cooking, and the living room for living. If I close the door to the bedroom, it's bearable to stay there. At least I'm only paying 995 euro a month.... read more

SHBarcelona staff is professional, helpful, understands the pain of looking for an accomodation when you have few days or hours to decide. The quality of their selection of properties is certainly above the average you would find on the market, this perhaps reflects a bit on the price, which is totally worth it if you consider they do speak english and are fairly responsive in email communication (in Spain email are almost ignored, you need to phone and speak - good luck if you come from abroad). I just wish I had found SHBarcelona website earlier before relocating from London to Barcelona, it would have spared me lots of time, stress, incompetence of other agencies and money! ShBarcelona gave terrible service. Everyone was kind and professional when they were around, but it was very difficult to communicate with them-- they simply took days or weeks to respond to messages. They did not accompany me to the apartment when I first arrived for a walk-through, and what I found upon arrival was a very dark, noisy, and dank apartment that left my feet black with dirt when I first walked through it. One of the bedroom walls was covered in mold, the couches and chairs all had stains on them, and when a light blew out in my second week there, they did not address the problem. I felt taken advantage of with the high service fee and the low-level service. The apartment was described as "fully equipped", but I had to spend my first day in Barcelona buying basic items for the apartment to make it livable. They also advertised the place as having two sets of sheets, but there was only one set, which was problematic because the apartment was so dark and damp that it took more than a day to dry anything. Seems my experience fell through the cracks for them. read more

I came to ShBarcelona after a poor experience with another "agency", they took care of me right after that, even assisting me with problems i could have with my former agent (deposit etc). It was for a monthly rental, the new flat was awesome and they are very professional, you can speak to them in french/english/spanish without any difficulty (and that is important !) and they were really good to explain me each point and take away any doubts on my mind. They don't hide anything from you and are always open to speak if something can be wrong (I needed some furnitures more in my flat and they helped very fastly). Sergi was in charge of our flat and us, and he is a really nice and professional guy. For example he translated all contract in english, even if i understand a little spanish. (my former agency gave me a spanish contract and didnt help) He gaves us also good tips on how living in Barcelona, because they have a great knowledge on this city. I strongly recommand them, even if they are a little more expensive (and not always!) than craps like idealista and all the bad stuffs you find in it. Moreover, quality, good feeling, and safety worth largely the few euros more. And with them, no doubt on getting back your deposit or not (which is a terrible uncertainty in Spain even if you broke nothing!) so at the result, they aren't so expensive. i am a 22 years old french student and i can tell you that this is hard to find something good with good conditions in Barcelona; and after one month and a half of many researches to find the cheapest, and having bad situations, bad feeling and complete swindle from some agency (4 months of deposit for example). So if you are coming to Barcelona from abroad and want a highly professional and trustworthy property agent for either, long or short-term letting then look no further. ShBarcelona either met or exceeded all my requirements - and I consider myself to be a very demanding customer. For those looking for a more detailed review, please read on. Trying to find accommodation in a new country can often be troublesome. Although the distance from London to Barcelona is not that far I do not speak a word of Spanish (and even less Catalan for that matter). The excellent service I received from ShBarcelona allowed me to find suitable accommodation in a matter of hours. As always - I contacted a number of property agents in the city and viewed many properties. ShBarcelona's agents offered me more accommodation than all the other agents I saw combined. During my search, I encountered many single agents (one person) companies offering properties. Although helpful - the single agents tended to maintain very close relationships with the landlords, which I was worried may work against me with the contract. Since I had no previous experience renting in Spain and did not speak the language, I wanted to rent with an established property agent in the city. ShBarcelona did not let me down. Every member of their team, from the agents that showed me the properties to their property managers that handled the contract were excellent. Staff The staff were all very friendly polite approachable and professional. The first agents showed me a variety of accommodations. Unfortunately I arrived very late for the first appointment and expected a cancellation but the agent was patient and understanding and spent two hours showing me a variety of suitable places. After about 2 hours of viewing properties the first agent had to make another appoint. The agent appreciated that I had only a few days to find accommodation. Instead of scheduling to meet on another date he introduced me to another colleague who continued to show me other suitable accommodation. This allowed me to identify a number of properties that matched my requirements. My requirement was a two bed apartment above the second floor with a balcony, lots of natural light, internet access and in a good area. I ended up with a two bed apartment on the 8th floor with a 40 square metre balcony/terrace in, what I would argue, to be one of if not the best part of Barcelona. As for the sunlight...what can I say - I am now a dark shade of brown :) The agents even took their time to identify my tastes in food and social life so that they could find me a property I liked. Dealing with Problems: I experienced a problem with the internet connection, which I found to be too slow for my needs. This problem was resolved by the agent within two days of my informing them - they upgraded the service at no cost to myself or change to my initial contract. It is fair to say that ShBarcelona totally met and exceeded all my expectations. All the flats are extremely well decorated and a very usefull traitement of the team (informations of the city, 24hphone in case of problems, etc). They speak French in adition to English. They have nice available agents and they speck many languages such as english and french and maybe even more. I engaged myself in renting a flat but I had some issues that changed my plans and they didn't charge me at all.
