This is a grocery store for emergencies only. I STRONGLY DO NOT recommend supporting them for the following reasons: 1) They display sales for items not in stock & refuse to give rain checks because those items may not be in their weekly ad. This has happened on numerous occasions & to the chagrin of the Manager nothing can be done because it is a corporate decision. (photos attached) 2) Earning points for gasoline reduction is a farce. They are trying to compete with Stop & Shop who also offer 10 cents per $100 spent. However, the gas stations that are part of the Shaws network hike up the price of their gas so much that any saving doesn't even come close to what can be purchased elsewhere. If you accrue points, use them as cash in the store. Do not be fooled into thinking they are offering any discount for gasoline. It is a sham. My lesson has been learned & I hope to pass this on to others. read more

The product quality is good, but the delivery service (as well as contacting store's customer service & delivery departments) has gotten awful. This is the second time I was given a time-frame for delivery, and the food arrived an hour and 45 minutes. Each time, I'd get an e-mail my groceries were on their way. I look at the delivery map, and see that the delivery vehicle is next to the store icon. Not moving. Meanwhile, the system keeps updating the expected delivery time - pushing it out, further & further. Calls to the store result in long hold times, and then transfers to departments that don't answer. Shaws: If you don't wanna be in business, just sell out to a grocery chain that DOES want to serve customers. I don't care to which delivery service you've outsourced - they're torpedoing your reputation. read more

Make sure you check the expiration dates on your delivery and pick up orders, its disgusting how they push expired food, this has happened to me numerous times, but today I ordered 3 packages of stew steak, today is july 31, when I opened them up to put in my crockpot this horrible smell hit me in the face check the dates and 2 packages expired july 29 and 1 package july 28! Shame on you, if you wouldn't want to buy it yourself why do you send those out to people if I hadn't have noticed my entire family could have gotten very sick read more

More and more Shaw's is forgetting the service part of customer service. The latest incident came this evening at the Hyannis store. I stopped in to get a few things. My first stop was at the deli to get a half pound of ham only to be informed that the deli was closed. It was 8:15 and the store doesn't close until 10:00. The staff at the counter wouldn't help. They pointed to the grab and go. I then went over to the service counter to find a manager. I asked why the deli was closed while the store was open. I was told that it's policy. That the closing time for the deli was 8:00. That they needed time to clean the area. I truly have to call BS. There were four people working in the deli. The store had hardly any customers. There is no reason that one couldn't be serving customers while the rest cleaned. It's bad enough they don't have sufficient staff during normal hours. That they don't have enough people manning the registers. That they keep pushing us to use self checkout. It's bad enough that they keep pulling no sugar items that diabetics like myself depend on from the shelves. But to care so little for their customers that they won't even provide full service while they are open. Particularly during tourist season when many people arrive on the the Cape late and need to stock up. read more

This place is a joke of a grocery store. They don't have much of a selection, never have the weekly deals price tags on anything. The manager and employees on last night wanted to close early last night and harassed me the whole time. The night manager Mathew followed me to the register and stood over my shoulder and threatened to shut it down on me before their closing time because I said your store closes at 10pm. He eventually did right before I swiped my last item to pay and kicked me out of the store. He insisted the store closes when he says it closes. Just a power trip that I wanted nothing to do with. I just wanted to get my few items, not talk to anyone and leave. read more

I was here on a slow Monday morning. What a terrible atmosphere. It was dead silent. No music. No happy customers chatting. No employees chatting. Nothing. Employees were extreme with just completely looking forward or down. Zero smiling or interacting at all. Cashier same. No hello or smile. If you add in the uptight locals that are downright angry and rude. Yikes. Food was ok but expensive. That was my 2nd and last time there. I'll choose the touristy Market Basket for kind employees and customers with better prices. read more

Treated like a local. And that's a good thing. I've been doing a bunch of grocery shopping to feed these hungry folks I'm with here. No matter who I asked, where can I find this item in your store for hey would walk me to it. None of this oh down aisle 3 on the left hand side. Got to love That level of service I hardly see anymore. read more

One again, against my better judgement, I went into this location for a couple of items. I see the Deli counter has gotten no better. Tricia was lacking in the customer service department. I only know that I will go to the Main St location where I always get great customer service throughout the store. read more

Couldn't find "Beyond Burgers" . The manager walked by and saw my lost face and asked if he could do anything. I told him what I was looking for so he looked with me thoroughly and then went in the back of the meat section and came out with some. So pleasant and eager to please . Every time I go in there he is so nice. Always a kind comment always running around the store checking on everyone and everything. This store Is clean, well run and organized. Thank you! " read more

This Shaw's is poorly managed compared to the one in West Yarmouth. The prepared food in the deli department is absolutely gross. All their dishes must be old because they're all crusted over. The fresh fish looks a bit suspicious too. I wanted a bag of mussels, but the woman behind the counter who told me she would be "in a minute" spent so long scaling some fish that I finally walked away. You know the employees are either poorly trained or don't care when they would rather do something else than serve customers. Don't shop here if you want white eggs. They don't sell them. You would think at the prices they charge, you would get service and quality. This Shaw is only minutes to my house but I drive the extra miles to go to the one in West Yarmouth. Most of my shopping I do at Trader Joes. Their selection is small but the prices are more reasonable than the other supermarkets in the area. Whatever you do, don't waste time and money at this Shaws in Hyannis. The place is run by zombies. read more
