The store was clean and well maintained. We bought some beverages and annuals they had out front (3 for $10 was a great deal)! Self-checkout was smooth and we experienced no lines. The service was great. The self-checkout cashier was helpful and friendly. We don't have a Stop & Shop membership but the cashier gave us the member price. I place an online order last night for 9-10 am p/u the next day. 6/28. I got a call from the associate to tell me it would be closer to 9:40. I called at 9:30 to confirm. The picker is alone and very obviously overwhelmed. I've managed people for 30 years and can tell by her voice she is about to hit the wall. Take better care of your staff!!! It's called management support. The picker has been alone all morning. For the hour I spent in the parking lot, I could have sipped myself. Stop and stop has waisted my time and money(fresh food on sale rots in a day or so) for the last time. I can buy boars head many other places. This is no longer convenient. read more

Someone there needs to look up the definition of service. I was shopping for a few things I needed. First I found blueberries that were advertised as on sale but with the regular price marked on them. When I finally found someone working in the produce section they tried to convince me that they were out of the size that was on sale. I pointed out that the advertisement was for one dry pint and that was what they had on display. She agreed that they would correct the price at checkout. After I finished shopping I got in the line that was marked for handicapped shoppers. I'm recovering from a hip replacement and still require a cane. Most times the checkers see the cane and make sure they don't make my bags too heavy. After she finished checking my groceries and getting the price of the blueberries straight she was leaving my groceries piled up at the end of the conveyor belt. She then asked me if I wanted my groceries bagged and I said that is why I was standing there. She then proceeded to start stuffing my groceries all into one bag. I asked her to please make the bags lighter. She reluctantly started separating my groceries. I pointed out that I was in the handicapped line for a reason. She said that I wasn't the handicapped line so I pointed out the blue handicapped sign and asked why that was there. After all was said and done I found out that Stop and Shop now charges ten cents for every bag. The only place this is posted is a very small typed notice at the end of the line. From now on I will take the time to drive to Market Basket. I wish I could give no stars. read more

We walked a mile over from where we were camping since the hours said they were open, as did the sign on the doors. But when we got there at 5:05 they said they were closing early for Easter and we couldn't get in. I have been using this pharmacy for years. But now they no longer text to let me know when my prescriptions are ready and if I try to call I get put on hold for anywhere from 10-30 minutes. If I go there to pick up without calling first the prescription is not ready or they've put it back on the shelf or some other excuse. Or they're on break or lunch. The last time I went three times before I was able to get my antibiotics. Do yourself a big favor and go somewhere else especially if you're sick and need your meds. read more

Wow... five reviews and they have 5 stars! Proud of this dump, are we, Stop & Shop? This place is the inmates running the asylum. They have two entrances and in their wisdom, have decided to close one of them. No signage until you get to the 8 1/2 x 11 printed sheets hung in the widow, directing you to the north end. Employees go in & out, there, but "it's not open to the public". My wallet opened up to Trader Joe's down the street, where the employees know where everything is in the store, and they aren't on their cellphones. Food wise, a much smarter move and it was $150.00 that Stop & Shop didn't want. Call this place "Pass and Shop"..... elsewhere read more

This location is really busy, especially in the summer, but it's no excuse for the fruit fly problem in the produce department. The flies were all over the peaches and nectarines and other fruit. There were so many on the onions it was hard to find one without a live bug on it. There were also many shelves throughout the store that were nearly empty. Several items I needed were not in stock. I will not be going back anytime soon. read more

I am so disappointed in the Hyannis stop & Shop. I can understand now why they have had such bad reviews. It is very sad that after all the trouble they have had lately with their employee relations, they would not learn about customer or people care skills. Today I wanted to buy some annual plants. They were priced and marked $7.99 for a 1 gallon size annual. However they were really 2.5 quart plants. I pointed it out to the manager and explained that I buy loads of plants there and it was marked or priced wrong. I am a huge gardener and know about plant sizes &!Prices. The price should have been about $ 4.98. I was wanting to buy a lot of them. The manager Said that $7.99 wAs the price and sorry with no regard or attempt at customer care, especially when it was false & deceptive advertising. As a result I will no longer shop there. I went to Shaw's nearby instead and bought a car chock full of annuals & perennials. I think the manager was too overworked and stressed to Attend to my good customers concerns. It is too bad as this customer among others, has been lost! Hopefully they will learn that customers & employees keep them in business if they want to compete. read more

I think the employees are doing a good job especially under the covid circumstances. Everyone has been pleasant and helpful in guiding me to products I could not find. Fed up with poor management and horrible customer service. I had a woman shoo me away from the Customer Service desk at 7:30 AM (busy time there) because they had no one there for me. I just needed to return one item. No apology. A few months ago a manger told me the reason my chicken smelled like raw sewage was because of the packing materials. Again no apology. I was the one who was ignorant. I"ve shopped at Stop and Shop for years but no more. Ridiculous! read more

This joint is a necessary evil. Stop & Shop shares 95% of the market here on Cape Cod with Shaw's. This is by far, the worst store. Go to Cotuit, where they are at least friendly. They have a bunch of lazy high school kids doing most of the work and a bunch of know nuthin's running the place. I usually shop Shaw's, just down the street or BJ's for bulk items. I don't fall for their bait & switch gas deal where they will just take what you earn if you look away. Bottom line is they don't care because they don't have to. Dodge this dump. I am going to cut & paste my previous reviews, below, because yelp seemed to believe they were for the original location which closed back in 2012. 1.0 star rating 11/16/2015 Updated review Still no improvement. My last stop when out shopping after BJ's, Shaw's and Whole Paycheck. We went recently and noticed not a few, not hundreds, but THOUSANDS of cigarette butts amongst the litter that overpowers the space that has the plantings between the parking areas. They will probably have it cleaned up in a few years. Look for the exploding "fresh" salsa or the moldy herbs when you want a little ptomaine for dinner. I went to check out and there were 3 checkers and 6 self check areas. There were at least two people with lots of stuff in each line for the checkers, but why not an 8 or 15 or less line. The scanner screwed up so I had to wait for some older woman to saunter over to reset the thing. After 3 or 4 minutes, I left one of the items, grabbed the cheaper/necessary one, and went to another register. She was on her way...... I think. Another thing that pisses me off, is that their machines don't offer a "forgot my card" option like other S&S stores. I have my 'card' on one of my sets of keys, and if I grab the wrong one, and ask an employee to scan a card for me, they give me a look of "you're asking me to break the rules". This place sucks. One register open and self checkouts. No one watching over the self checkouts. Trying to buy cold medicine. Have to prove you're over 18 so I needed to go to the cashier. The cashier starts pointing at the self checkouts as I walk towards her. So do the lights on the registers mean anything or are your employees just lazy? I tossed the medicine on the nearest shelf and left. That's when I hear her say "I'll take you over here" too late, you guys lost another customer. read more
