Formerly Beacon, now Valero's gas station. And yes, that makes 2 Valero's ,1 on each side of town, both on Front St. They do not rip you off at either location. When you pay at the pump versus inside the store, the computer at the pump automatically holds a predetermined amount, usually $50 or $75 from your debit/credit card because it does not know how much gas you will actually be buying until you actually finish pumping. Therefore,it will hold the predetermined amount even if you only pump $5. It merely holds it ,it does not charge it. The hold will remain for about 2 to 3 days or until the actual amount you pumped has been withdrawn from your account. This is a very common practice at most gas stations and that is why you should pay inside the store, where you tell the cashier the exact amount you will be pumping and you can avoid the hold entirely. This is not exclusive to debit/credit cards as it follows the same procedure for gift cards as well. Anyways, cigarettes are too expensive here. The price of gas is the price of gas. You can buy propane here as well, and at a decent price. The guys that work there are all very cool and very attentive. This gas station provides its customers with clean bathrooms,a nicely stocked mini store, lotto, and is conveniantly located right off the highway. Stop by the Valero's and pump it..... read more
