If you're serious about selling your home in the Hampton Bays area do not use Douglas Elliman and…read moreparticularly its manager Todd Bourgard. When we decided to put our house on the market, we arranged for Todd to come over and give us his thoughts. Within minutes of coming over he told us we would get no more than $499K for our home, to which we expressed disbelief. He brought us comps to compare what houses had sold for in the neighborhood, though they were not prepared by him and were not recent. It appears he had just gotten back from a vacation and had his assistant run some comps, which he didn't bother to check for accuracy. Before leaving he again said to my wife and I, "You'll see your house will sell for $499K. No follow up at all after he left. Suffice it to say, we called another broker over that same day from Village Realty and she immediately advised us that our house would sell for much more. It did! It sold for $575K. It appears that Douglas Elliman and Todd Bourgard could care less about you, your house or anything associated with its sale. They don't do their homework and don't care what your house sells for. All they care about is a sale, even if it's for below market value. What a bunch of tools!!

Compass itself offers so much. I had the misfortune of working with the Midlam team. Bryan, the…read moreleader of the team is arrogant, condescending, and doesn't listen to to the needs of the client. It's all about him. His second in command had a completely unprofessional melt down when confronted with discrepancies in the team's reports. The other two people on the team appear to be quite nice -- but are clearly not calling the shots. I wound up ultimately placing a property with another agent who was able to get more than 20% more than what Bryan Midlam assured me was possible. A really negative experience. I really don't trust them.

Every step of the way she went out of her way to make our lives easy. Maria even helped us sell all our household items to the new buyers. She was and remains the Greatest Agent of All Time!!! Stay away from this place! They promised my wife that they would sell our place in a week and…read morealmost 6 months later, nothing. 2 offers (well below what she promised I would get) and they had to back out because they did not have the money. They con'ed my wife into 1 year agreement and when I asked them to back out, they said they would but I would still have to pay them a commission if it sells. I feel they did zero to market the place, all they did was stick it on the MLS and disappear. I have been self employed my entire life and have never treated or been treated nearly as bad as this place is treating us, Stay away, tell your friends to stay away, Hampton Bays has plenty of great real estate agents, you can do no worst then this place. FYI, I had a real estate license years ago and I am making my judgement based on experience. This is the 1st review I have ever written, that is how disappointed I am. I also told them I would do this and they did not care. YELP needs to change the scale to also include negative stars, they do not even deserve 0 stars.
