We've stopped in here for doners a couple of times on the way back from the cottage. They were…read moregood! However a few things about this place could use some improvement. The doners seemed different each time we ate here. Both were good, but the way they were made was not consistent, and I'm not even sure they used the same sauce. The second time they put way, way too many onions, to the point that I dumped out a handful of them, and they were chopped into very large chunks and just too overpowering. The meat of the doner tastes really good - much better than other options in the area like grody pita pit up the road in Port Severn! The owner is very friendly, but I was disappointed that he told me the cheese bread thing was "tiny" so I ordered two of them. Well they aren't tiny, they're the size of a medium pizza, so I ended up wasting money on a huge bag of bread. It was very tasty and very fresh, but I sort of felt like he was just trying to get me to spend more (and the place definitely is not cheap). Place seems very clean, and the food didn't upset my stomach like so many other fast food places in dirty Barrie. The only other gripe - and it's small but it really stuck in my mind - is that the seat in the washroom is too far away from the tissue roll, so that when you're sitting down there is no possible way you can reach it! Seems like a very simple thing to fix. A bit pricey, but the food is good so it's worth it. My advice to management: work on consistency of the food, quit trying to up-sell, and move the tissue dispenser in the washroom! I will eat here again.

**A True Hidden Gem in Orillia **…read more As we were passing through Orillia, we decided to stop into **Theo's Restaurant** for a bite to eat--and I'm so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and brought to our table with such genuine hospitality. The space is spotless, intimate, and beautifully styled, creating the perfect atmosphere for a cozy meal. The menu is filled with wonderful Greek and Italian options, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The bruschetta was outstanding, and the veal parm was perfection. The food alone is worth the visit, but the service truly elevated the experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, giving us that small-town connection where we didn't feel like "just customers." We also noticed the same level of care at the tables around us--clearly, this is how they treat everyone who walks in. Theo's is definitely a place I'd stop at again on my next trip back. And for anyone who lives in Orillia, it's a wonderful spot for a family celebration, a special date night, a relaxed dinner out, or even a business meeting. **Five stars all the way. The Theo family has done an incredible job.** Anja Lavigne ( Toronto/Kwarthas )
