There are only seven booths inside, but the space feels open -- bright, uncluttered, simple. No gimmicks. No fluff. Just clean and straightforward. Sometimes that's exactly what you want. I had studied the menu for days. DAYS. I thought I knew what I was ordering. And then I walked in, looked at the board again, and immediately changed my mind. I ordered the Gyro Bowl with Lamb ($14.99), Spanakopita ($5.99), and a fountain soda, bringing my total to $31.61 with tip -- and for what I received, that felt like an absolute steal. The gentleman behind the counter greeted me right away, took my order quickly, and checked in while I was eating to make sure everything tasted good. Polite. Attentive. No hovering. Just solid customer service. While I was there, there was also a steady stream of people coming in and out for takeout, which is always a good sign. The spanakopita came out first -- four large pieces -- and I literally did a little seated dance before even taking a bite. The pastry was buttery and flaky, and the spinach and cheese filling was rich and flavorful without being heavy. I made it through two pieces before the main event arrived. And when the gyro bowl arrived... IT ARRIVED. This wasn't a bowl. This was a baking-sheet-sized platter disguised as a bowl. It was massive and piled high with lamb. No skimping on the rice. No skimping on the pita. No skimping on the Greek salad. And the lamb? Oh my god. Buttery. Melt-in-your-mouth. Big, generous chunks -- not sad little shreds. Easily the best Greek lamb I've ever had, and I eat a lot. The Greek salad came with the dressing on the side (thank you), loaded with feta, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, and green peppers. The combination of that fresh, crisp salad with the rich, tender lamb was perfection. I was grinning. I was dancing in my seat. I was having a moment. I ate and ate and still left with a completely full takeout box that's basically a second full meal. I'm already excited about tomorrow's leftovers, which might be the highest compliment I can give. Given all the errors, everything was delayed and took longer, which was frustrating. - Payment. You're expected to pay your tab before actual service, which includes tips, as well.
