Update: I left a 5-star review after my first appointment because they took care of my broken tooth swiftly and they have signs encouraging you to leave reviews for a "prize". I now know quick doesn't mean efficient in this office. I came here because I saw others in their reviews had a pleasant experience here, but that couldn't be further from my truth. I've realized that they tend to overcompensate with what they say because their way of treatment isn't up to par in my personal experience. After my initial appointment, I returned to get filings done twice, and less than a week after that second filling appointment I started feeling immense tooth pain on both sides they worked on and unbearable headaches. Not to mention that during my second filling, the doctor instructed the male dental assistant who had literally started that same day to screw the thing on my tooth and he snagged my lip and didn't adjust it. I felt the discomfort during the procedure, but I didn't actually notice until after because I was extremely numb. Anyway, I reached out to see if they could check out why my teeth have been in excruciating pain because I couldn't handle it any longer. It was a hassle trying to schedule an appointment with them and they wouldn't take my urgency seriously. I finally got into the office today for my scheduled cleaning and the dental assistant was extremely inconsiderate of the pain I had already explained I was in. She kept stabbing my gums and just saying sorry every single time. Before starting she gave me one excuse for the pain in question and when the doctor came in she said something different. Neither one of them provided a solution and they just got defensive when I showed my concerns. The doctor was invalidating everything I had to say and kept talking over me to try to prove a point. Proceeded to show me pictures of my teeth, explained what it could be that's causing me such discomfort, and still disregarded me explaining once again that it felt like the fillings were stabbing my gums even after the cleaning was done. So because she couldn't find anything in between my teeth she made me floss in front of her like that would prove anything at all. I simply clarified that it FELT like there was something, not that there was. After I explained multiple times that I would get migraines from eating or drinking anything too cold or too hot she said to refrain from doing so then. I confronted her by saying she never informed me of that and all she had to say was, "Well now you know". Completely unprofessional and just blatantly rude in my opinion. The dental assistant had the nerve to ask me on my way out if I wanted to schedule another appointment, absolutely not. A complete waste of time and I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Finally made my way down here to get my teeth cleaned (2 years overdue... My bad! With a new baby in the picture and COVID coming along for the ride, it's been a pretty crazy couple of years!) I was Dr. Eddy Sugiarto's former patient before he retired, he was seriously the best dentist ever (he's known me since I was literally a child) but then I decided to just stay along with Dr. Angela Shaw as she took over his former office. Fast forward to today, she revamped his former office to have it look so up to date, modern and really CLEAN! And I've been post poning my wisdom teeth extractions (my last two) that needed to go for the longest time... Finally bit the bullet and got one done today and just say that part of the visit was far less painless than getting my fillings refilled. Right when she was done, I thought she was still going to keep tugging it out, nope literally 3 mins or less hahaha! Only took maybe an additional 2 more shots of novacaine but I was good! I haven't been back to the clinic since my last regular cleaning at the end of last year. I was hesitant to come back due to the increasing number of COVID cases recently. However, the receptionist, Ryan was very friendly and professional on the phone explaining how they are taking extra steps to ensure the place is sanitized and cleaned thoroughly between patients. When I came in this morning, all the staffs were wearing masks, they provided me hand sanitizers, and took my temperature. I actually appreciate them taking extra steps to ensure anyone coming is well. When I passed the first room and I saw the blue light in the room and got curious what that was. Then they told me it's UV light and they used it to sanitize the room for one hour before the next patient. That was very impressive how much how they put in to protect the patients and themselves. I have been a patient here for almost a year and half and I really appreciate how Dr Shaw is taking care of me. First time going back to the dentist since before COVID! I needed to find a new one in the area and a friend recommended me to Dr. Shaw. I just needed my annual cleaning. Went in and filled a quick questionnaire (receptionists were very nice!) and I quickly realized I was the last appointment for the week. Despite that, Dr. Shaw was very nice and calm! Her gentle demeanor made everything very easy. Throughout the x-rays and cleanings, she explained everything that she would be doing so that I wasn't caught off guard. I unfortunately had a few cavities, but she was very quick when she had them filled. She could tell when I was struggling during some of the drilling but talked me through it. It was overall a great experience. What really made me happy was I got a text recently from the receptionist Michelle, who informed me that my insurance had actually covered more than expected and they'd be sending a check for a refund for what I had paid for the fillings! Went to Angela Shaw Dental yesterday and I was greeted with kindness. My husband and we're assisted promptly. Alyssa helped us out doing X-Rays, CT scan and made sure we knew everything that they were going to do. She walked us through each step of the process. She also went over billing and insurance coverage which I found very helpful given my previous experiences in other dental offices lacked in providing details of costs coverage. Alyssa also made sure we got copies of our records and a CD copy of our scans to take with us to our Ortho and Endo drs.
