    I booked this venue for my daughter's baby shower (my first grandchild) because she wanted to have…read moreit near family so her great grand parents could attend. Neither my daughter or I live in North Carolina so we had to travel. When I first reached out to the owner Nicole she was very pleasant and it made me feel comfortable to spend my money with her. She provided me all the details involved in my package and I was satisfied with the details and what I was getting for my money so, I locked in. Once locked in Nicole's communication changed. She took forever to respond back to my questions about decor and then proceeded to tell me we have plenty of time to go over decorations because my shower is in January and we will get tighter in December to discuss. I understood and tried not to bother her unless I had questions that needed to be answered from my caterer. December arrives and still nothing so o reached out and again I had to wait for a response. By this time I'm getting anxious because I have already paid the full amount for the for the event. When I did finally speak with her, I asked if we can have a Zoom meeting because I am from out of town to see what she had decorating wise, and she proceeded to tell me that she had not purchased the item yet, but she will have them the day of the shower that made me real uneasy. I contacted her on my way into town to inform her that I will be there and ask if I can come see the venue prior to the baby shower which was three days before and she told me that she would not be available until the morning of that again made me real uneasy because I didn't know what I was walking into. I was informed by my Caterer that she didn't even know what time the event started and she stated that she didn't realize it was that earl. I have never worked with a professional that I was unable to see the event space or the decorations and give my stamp of approval since I am the paying customer and this is my vision that they are bringing to life. On the day of the shower, I received a text message from Nicole that informed me that I can now come before 10 am at 9:15am. I replied back that I was going to be late and Nicole called me 30 minutes later to informed me she had left the venue and proceeded to give me instructions on Cleanup. I was in shock when she said she left because I had never met this woman. Once arrived I had trouble finding the venue because it's inside a building and she had me come through the back. The building has horrible reception and I issues with getting directions from Nicole without going outside because her venue is located on the basement. When I finally got down in the basement and saw the spot I was immediately disappointed. The decorations were lack luster. A lot of wall space that had not been covered with decorations. The table formula daughter and husband to sit at was barely decorated and I didn't care for it at all. I couldn't get anything to work until she finally provided me the WiFi and then only the music I was able to get to work, but I was able was unable to use the tv to do the slideshow of pics we discussed. The bathrooms are on the outside of the venue which isn't a problem unless you have a key which I didn't have and I had to keep asking the ladies across the hall for the key as they were trying to braid hair. No tissue in the rest rooms so we had to figure out who to ask. Had she waited around for my arrival to greet me as a paying customer and give me instructions and a tour in person things could've been a little better knowing your service sucks in a basement. Needless to say, I did not enjoy myself and I tried to keep my cool for my daughter's sake. I wanted this to turn out beautiful. We traveled way too far for mediocrity and I paid a good penny for her service that was very lackluster and unprofessional. I'm just now settling to write this review because I was so disappointed. I couldn't even talk to her when she decided to come at the end for clean up because I didn't want to make a scene and embarrass my child. This experience has put a bad taste in my mouth about planning an event out of state. I hate giving bad reviews, but this experience was horrible.

    Helped plan/attended a wedding reception at The Loft on Halloween out of all days! Small, intimate…read morevenue in the heart of Historic Downtown Concord, this little place is perfect for smaller events. The rustic feel of the interior gave the party a nice, warm vibe. We were able to comfortably entertain about 35 people in the venue space. The bottom has a long, open floor space with a metal staircase leading up to second floor that I could see a small wedding ceremony taking place easily in here. While I was really happy with the outcome, there was still a lot of people elbow to elbow for most of the night. We decided to only use the upstairs for food prep that was then brought downstairs to serve in order to keep all of our guests together for the whole event. Upstairs features a Kitchenette with stove, microwave, countertop space, and a refrigerator. In the future, if we use the venue again, we might use the upstairs for dancing. While preparing food upstairs, I was unable to figure out why the garbage disposal in the sink wasn't working. Other than that, the kitchenette did exactly what we needed it for. While the primary planner (I was just helping decorate and moderate) had no problem getting in contact with the owners of the venue, I did notice while doing some research for this review that their website has been taken down. Also, it appears they were very active on social media a couple of years ago and then it all just dropped off. Definitely think they could do more with the space, but glad we were able to get the spot for a good price! Parking was super simple for everyone. Besides the handful of street parking spots, the downtown parking garage is adjacent to the building. No time limit on the weekends! If you're looking for an event space near downtown, definitely give 'em a call!
