I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated with Shatford Law. My mother and father drafted a family trust in the 90's with Walter Shatford. My father died soon after and my mother didn't do a good job of keeping a copy of the trust. She died recently, leaving only a note saying Shatford Law has it. Meanwhile, the Shatford family sold the law firm to current ownership in the 2000's. Current ownership was initially unresponsive to my requests for help, then dismissive, just saying they don't have the trust. The consequences of the loss of the trust are significant and will cost us possibly years in probate court and a fair chunk of my parents' small estate. Were we at fault for not making sure a physical copy of the trust was safely stored? Certainly. But my mom, and we, are not lawyers. Had Shatford Law kept competent records to act as a backup, the entire problem could have been avoided. Other lawyers I've spoken to since have called that behavior unconscionable. My advice? Do not trust Shatford Law. Find someone else. I wish my parents had. read more

I had a work related injury 4 and 1/2 years ago they haven't really done anything for me until I find them with the bar association a year and a half ago finally they got me the medical that I needed since I was injured. I don't know whose side they're on the company I work for or for myself the injured party. Also I have had numerous and answered responses to my voice messages phone calls and emails I do not recommend them whatsoever. read more

When I applied to be with shatford and to get a consultation, everything went so smoothly. I was taken on by Ryan who has done an incredible job at being my attorney. Communication was on point, any time I had a question and emailed him he responded back in a timely matter, it never went pass 24 hours. Andy Szeto took my workers comp case 6 years ago. Before taking on Shatford Law I thought I could handle it myself. Andy explained what defense lawyers can do to injured parties (wear them down, string out the case, and try incessantly to settle for less than the case is worth). I got hurt on the job, and I was down for a year. I had no income and I couldn't move very much. I was in pain everyday and losing my home. Shatford law (Andy Specifically) helped me to get the most that I could possibly get. Even when I was stressed out and wanted to fire everyone and go with somebody else. Closer to me. I can't describe how disappointed I was & am with this firm, big mistake on my end hiring such a firm..not only the service, communication and attitude was awful but they wanted me to settle for peanuts and as if they were working against me... I have tremendous amount of comments made by Silvia and other reps at the firm that it will take a long time to express, I finally had to work with the attorney assigned to my case, he's too busy "for me" to respond to my concerns.. A little over a year ago, I had an accident at work, and didn't have any kind of injuries in my 34 years of my food industry career. I my experience, they are unorganized and unresponsive. My account manager changed more than 3 times and last I tried to reach out to her, I received an automated "invalid email" message! They submitted my paperwork to the opposing attorney with missing signatures. They even went as far as blaming me for their own lack of attention to detail. read more

They only care about the BIG money cases. They barely know the details of your case before they go in to court. I've NEVER been as disrespected or basically left to fight my own battle. It's difficult to actually get to speak to an attorney unless you put up a fight or call them a ton. It's a fast food type of firm. They have an assistant that takes all your info and serves it up to the attorney the same day as the trial. THEN when a decision and settlement was agreed to by both parties to pay my medical bills for this injury, I didn't get anything but a case number to give to my medical creditors who have turned me over to collections, affecting my credit significantly. The settlement was agreed that the workers Comp Insurance company was going to pay the bills (Approx $36k) that I listed out and ave to my attorney. After I signed the paperwork I received no letter - I had to call and raise hell just to get a letter to creditors referencing the settlement agreement and I had to send it out to each of my creditors. Ok, so I sent all these out and to this day- one year 14 months after the incident I am still struggling to get the workers Comp Insurance Company- Sedgewick to take care of the medical bills incurred. The law firm will not respond Nothing. I would save yourself from working with these incompetent and uncaring people. They straight up said, since they only made $750 on me that it wasn't a case they would finish or prioritize. Workers Comp doesn't allow you to switch attorneys once you've retained one without a bit of work so buyer beware. read more

I used Shatford for a Workers Comp litigation. Almost every deposition, hearing, court appearance I had a different attorney, so there was no consistency. Received a lien notice from Insurance company and contacted the law office. They stated that since the case had been settled that they would not be involved in any further issues. They get their money and you are on your own to address any other issues. read more

big talk up front to get you as a client then they failed miserably. 4 years later I'm still disabled and the settlement was not worth the time it took to get. never spoke to the same guy twice and a kid just out of school showed up at court. My attorneys office was based in Irvine,Ca.. Also they lied to get me to settle the case. I was told 35k would be paid back to state disability and only 5k was. Then when I questioned them about it they tell me that was not part of the settlement. I thought lawyers are set out to help you. That is not the case with Shatford law. I was told that I have to do my deposition in Los Angeles. Not realizing that, that would make me have to go there every time. I was ripped off in a sense of speaking. Shatford law doesn't care about there clients and could honestly care less about what happens to your case. I don't recommend Shatford Law because their values are extremely poor. They make their Law Firm sound good, but once you sign up, that is it expect you can expect your case to be destroyed entirely. It is extremely unfortunate they put me through a horrifying hardship, and even more so during my deposition the lawyer assigned to my case allowed my rights to be violated and for me to be badgered by the other party's attorney. This is probably one of the worst law firms ever. Some of the staff is very rude and very unprofessional. Stafford Law Firm is more the employer than the clients. I've had my signature forged on documentation without my permission. I've never received anything from Stafford Law Firm by mail regarding my case. Half of the time there is no one to answer my calls or answer my questions regarding my case. Silva, thinks she's the governor of California. Marlene yawned several times while I was explaining my concerns. Other words...she don't give a damn. Instead of dealing with 1 person. I've had to deal with damn near 10 people at this law firm and half of them sound like young kids in high school with no knowledge of the law firm. No one has answers or compassion for clients like myself. Statford is more for the employer and not the clients. I wouldn't recommend anyone to Statford Law Firm not even my buck tooth dog. read more

Unfortunately, my experience is the exact opposite of the post below mine. I am in the middle of a case being handled by Shatford Law so I'll keep this brief & will follow-up once my case is closed. Communication is horrible with Nancy. She does not reach out to me to provide status updates on my case & when she returns my calls, it's obvious she isn't knowledgeable because she places me on hold while she reads my file aloud. She makes me feel as if my case is worthless because of the attention she gives me & we aren't even in the phase of discussing settlement yet! Nancy has been handling my case for 9 months now. So I've got a long way to go. She's not helpful & her tone of voice is not pleasant. She makes me feel like I'm a pest when I call her an update. I purposely wait 60 days after a treatment session before I call her. That's because every time I talk to her she says "it takes 30 days to get a response". My final break that drew me to this post... Nancy told me that she received my results at the end of November & that it takes 30 days to contest the DRs report. My results needed to be contested and we're past 30 days! If I didn't call her, I'm confident my case would've gained dust on Nancy's desk. Now, I'm in limbo waiting for another 30 days that'll take 30 days. I need help finding a new attorney. read more
