The fish was cooked when I ordered so it was fresh however it was the server running the restaurant that cooked it and didn't have gloves on. I was not a fan of that but went ahead with it. Food was good but the fish and chips could have been fried a little more it was soggy when we got home 3 mins away. Server was nice and chatted with my aunt and I while the food was cooking.

Without this in mind the fact that they cook to order and keep less under the heat lamp makes for a tastier, fresher, and more reassuring meal. Overall, the chips are cooked golden every time. This is sometimes an issue for me since I've recently been to a few where they rush the chips and the chips come out cooked but white. The fish was tender and good. Overall a win win situation DT

The good sign of a chip shop is if they sell the delicacy from my hometown Pukka Pies (and they do) along with crispy fish, proper chips mushy peas and all the other staples. Scraps (which I thought were a Leicester thing too) are free. Eating in is fun, and there's often neighbours there, and if I have guests from overseas, we always head to the Windmill (or Le Moulin as my French buddies call it). Any improvements? Well the loo is a bit basic, and having two doors can make it a bit chilly. If they are frying the fish, it's always worth waiting for.

It is convenient for myself to get lunch there as it is only 20mins walk from my school: just as far as highstreet. Convenient yes, but viable? Sadly not. This place does great chips, almost perfect but is not open consistently. The range of selection of fish is vast and includes cod, haddock, skate and other weird and wonderfull marine creatures. Tis fair value for money and portion sizes are generous.

However this is only the case if it is open which is rare as most of the time i go there it is always closed. It isn't very big and is more of a takeaway place but i still love going there if you want to eat something filling but don't want to spend a lot of money. I would say it serves the most generous portion of chips than any other chip place in slough.

Moreover, it has disturbed me greatly to see that many places that offer "chips" are selling french fries. Like what we have in America. These are NOT chips. This place not only does chips right, requiring at least an inch in diameter and almost have to get that much in sickness, made from entire potatoes, these are real. They also make your fish fresh to order and give you a lot of it. Basically, my entire trip to the UK has been salvaged. Thanks, Rose's!
