The front desk employee was polite and apologetic, but accompanied me to the next room late at night, which made me uneasy as a woman traveling alone. The second room was clearly not cleaned--there was an unmade bed and used towels on the floor. The third room I was assigned was acceptable, but it did not have a security chain on the door. Given the earlier issues with rooms being incorrectly assigned, I did not feel safe and was worried someone might enter my room. The following morning, I went down for breakfast shortly after the posted start time of 6:00 AM, but nothing was set up and no staff were present. When I called, I was told breakfast started at 6:00. After explaining it was already past that time, I was told it would still be a while before anything was ready. I raised my concerns about the previous night and asked about a possible refund. I was told someone would look into it and follow up, but I never received a response. After multiple follow-up calls, I finally spoke with the same employee who had checked me in. He was extremely rude, denied the situation occurred, and repeatedly accused me of being "the kind of person who takes advantage of a situation." He also refused to let me speak with the manager (his cousin), claiming he was unavailable. At this point, I am less concerned about a refund and more focused on making others aware. The lack of proper room management created an unsafe situation, and the dismissive and hostile response from staff was unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone considering staying here, especially those traveling alone.

The facility is gorgeous, well stocked and had all kinds of extras that you can choose to use for your event. Great sound system. Debbie went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and went the extra mile to make last minute items for us. Everything was set up just as discussed when we arrived. She was involved through the whole process and so easy to work with. The bartender was great and so accommodating when we had a featured drink request. Thank you so much! The wedding ceremony area was pretty too, with barn doors that open and close as the bride comes down the aisle. The aisle itself is made of very uneven cobblestone, which was bothersome. Cobblestone is quaint but difficult to walk on in heels. They really should have leveled the ground where they were going to put the brick/cobblestone --this would help guests more easily walk on it. We also had some elderly family members that struggled. The serving staff was quite attentive. Rarely an an empty plate or glass sit on a table for more than a few minutes. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. I realize that the bride and groom made the food choices, but don't offer something if it isn't tasty. The teriyaki chicken chunks were dry inside and the sauce tasted like what you would get in a frozen entrée packet. The pulled pork was drowned in sauce to cover up the fact that it was dry and stringy. The steamed vegetables were flavorless. The iced tea was very watered-down. The best tasting thing was the corn casserole, but it is sort of inherently bland so at least that tasted like it was supposed to! People also enjoyed plenty of space to stand and mingle. A large table in front was great for serving ice cream and cake. Guests came locally from Lincoln and Omaha and also from Arkansas, California, Kansas, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Texas. We researched other venues and picked this spot because of the amenities, location, ground floor access for mature people, easy parking, and value for cost (very attractive/friendly compared to hotel ballrooms). Corinna and her bartender provided true midwest hospitality. The day was perfect and Dad felt very blessed to be surrounded by his extended family.
