This is a very cool space, featuring fascinating history and environmental elements in addition to the park amenities. The location was formerly home to a school before it was taken down. It's a very spacious lot with a lot of green space. A wooded area on the property has a sign that indicates that the trees were planted by students of the school in honor of the first Earth Day in 1970 - very neat! A constructed wetland full of gorgeous flowers and plants is beautiful to view and is near a chimney swift tower that is set up to encourage the return of the chimney swifts who used to use the school's chimney for their nests. Park amenities include a baseball field, a paved trail, benches and picnic tables, and a playground that includes climbing structures, swings (baby and traditional), a couple of slides, a bouncy bridge, a rocker, and a fun spinny feature. There is a nice parking area available near the wetland, as well. read more
