At the end of another long day of wedding dress shopping this was our last stop for the day. The…read moreplace was pretty busy when we got there and we had to wait a little bit for a free changing room, but that was fine because we spent the time picking out dresses for my friend to try and the sales assistant put them aside so there wasn't too much carrying around of them - and they're bloody heavy - who knew a dress could weigh so much, but if you try and hold two of them for longer than a minute you begin to feel like your arms will fall off! Of all the appointments so far we actually spent the most time here. While they do have a lot of mainstream dresses, there were one or two like I've not yet seen in any of the other shops. So much so that we threw the cat amongst the pigeons and confused the hell out of ourselves with what was now the best shape and style. The assistants here are very, very good. We were introduced to the owner and were offered teas and coffees more than once. The assistant helping my friend was especially good - we were tired after a long day and she must have been too, but she jollied our bride-to-be along with excellent spirits, chatting and jokes, and was complementary to her without being over the top. Prices are pretty high without being in the the astronomical designer range. On saying that one of the nicest dresses was less than a thousand euro. It's definitely worth a look if you're looking for a wedding dress and from what I saw while in this shop all the staff have an excellent eye and are really helpful with advice and suggestions, while not be pushy.

I'm seriously shocked this place hasn't been reviewed already! I went here this weekend with a…read morefriend who has started the epic task of finding her wedding dress. Dirty Fabulous has been mentioned a few times as a place to find good vintage clothing, particularly dresses. It's upstarts in one of the georgian buildings on Baggot street, so it's a bit off the beaten track, and I suspect you have to have an appointment - well for wedding dresses you certainly do. We were taken into a room with beautiful things that girls love, but what surprised me was the range of dresses was quite small. The nature of vintage being what it is means that you do have to be lucky to be in the room at the same time as the dress you want. However I found the staff great, they do realise the nature of the search and offer to keep your details and to let you know if anything that you would like does come in. And the dresses are beautiful. You can see these really beautiful different styles from various decades - 50s, 20s, 60s etc. There's also beautiful vintage jewelry and accessories. So if you're a vintage style lover this is definitely a place for you. I do have to say that the staff here really stood out. We had a few appointments that same day and no-one gave us advice anything like the lady in Dirty Fabulous. I think my friend was very tired of mediocre dresses at this point, and she picked her up by telling her not to mind any nonsense people tell her in shops about deadlines. She gave her great advice about trying things on even if they were in the wrong colour or shape to get a better idea of what works and what doesn't. She gave us cards of other shops which might stock dresses that she might also like. She organised us bridesmaids, who were flailing about uselessly, by designating a note-taker and talking about mailing lists. And all of it was done in a gentle, understanding way which made us all warm to her, and agree we would certainly recommend the place. She said to us as we were leaving "always remember to eat between every appointment and have a glass of wine with lunch".... after a footsore day with a disappointed bride-to-be the importance of this advice really stands out in my mind!

They'd a nice enough selection - though not for anyone size 12 or above really, which is a shame -…read morebut I was disappointed by how alternatively pushy and dismissive the woman I had my appointment with was. I had clearly stated when I booked that I was looking for wedding accessories and jewellery, but as soon as she established I already had my dress she seemed annoyed I was there. When showing me selections of accessories she pushed hard to sell regardless of whether I seemed interested or comfortable which was dissimilar to most of the bridal appointments I had experienced. I'd be wary of going back again.
