Then called me when to pick her up, prices are affordable they work with you. It's amazing. When I was on my way to pick up my dog I encountered a loose dog about to get hit by traffic! Long story short I managed to drive after him and run out to grab him by his leash, the poor dogs paws were bleeding everywhere he was lost. I brought him to the Humane society since I was going there anyway, they helped us without thinking twice. Scanned him in hopes he was microchipped and he was !!! They contacted the owner and he was in an Uber immediately to the humane society. If that's not a story to show how they are here to help animals and the universe bringing me to them I don't know what is!!!! So thank you soo sooo much for this experience, it was my first time here and I feel so blessed and grateful for people like these to help in this crazy world we live in. I'm also happy the dog and his owner were reunited. You guys are amazing !!!!! Thank you ! This is one of the reasons why a lot of ppl choose to buy dogs because adoption discrimination happens with pets too. I was 100% truthful on the application & left nothing out. I met the dog I wanted & absolutely fell in love with her, but the whole time I got the sense this woman did not want me to have the dog. She mentioned all these things that it felt like she was trying to sway my desire to get a dog but I brushed it off & told myself she just really cares about these animals. I emailed Barbara Fox who apparently makes the final decision to let her know I was interested, 3 days went by & I heard nothing. It wasn't until I sent another email that I received a response saying many ppl were interested in the dog & they will make their decision soon. Only 10 minutes later I received another email (by mistake) from the foster Rhoda Glass assassinating my character. The woman completely lied about the interaction that happened in her tiny apt where she had 5 dogs including the dog I was interested in. These ppl can hide behind the excuse that they care about an animals welfare when in fact they're just bigots. *see email in pictures*

I remain profoundly grateful for this organization and for the people who do this extraordinarily difficult work. Oliver came to us with a complicated history. He is a senior rescue who had already experienced a failed adoption and had spent years learning that human hands were not always safe. KK9R did not minimize his history, rush the process, or try to make him sound easier than he was. They were honest with us about his needs and thoughtful about whether our home was the right one for him. Since his adoption, I have been reminded again and again why KK9R's process is as thorough as it is. Rescue is not simply about getting a dog out of a shelter and into a home. It is about doing everything possible to create a placement that can be permanent, and one in which the dog has a real chance to feel safe, be understood, and have a joyful life. Oliver has now had significant dental work and eyelid surgery, and we are slowly building a life around safety, trust, consent, and predictability. He is funny, stubborn, deeply sensitive, and increasingly joyful. Watching him discover toys, enrichment, comfortable places to sleep, and the simple pleasure of being understood has been one of the great privileges of my life. I am especially grateful to his fosters, his trainers, and the medical, adoption, and administrative teams and volunteers who cared for Oliver before he became ours and who trusted us with his next chapter. The work they do is expensive, complicated, emotionally demanding, and often invisible. If you are considering adopting from KK9R, my advice is simple: take the process seriously. Follow their guidance. Listen when they tell you who a dog is. Understand that the requirements exist because these dogs have already endured enough uncertainty. I've been looking for a good local rescue organization and KK9R is the best I've found! they are…read morevery active, responsible and responsive to application and inquiries. Often times, you see organizations with adoptable animal pictures asking for application, after you submit lengthy application, often you don't hear from them, and animal is no longer available. And since application is needed for each specific animal, you have to go through the process all over again. KK9R is different; they ask for your application to vet you. You can apply for particular animal or general to get approved. They are very thorough about vetting applicants and very responsive. Then, after you get pre-approved, you can visit the animals. Which makes the process more streamlined and efficient. They do great work with local rescues as well as oversea rescues; particularly from south korea. The dogs are adorable and great quality. Some dogs are rescues from puppy mills, that sells to pet shops. They are also very honest about medical history of the dogs, and what to expect. After adoption, they also do follow ups. Spead the word if anyone is looking for furbaby!

Cheesecake is 10 years old and had never been neutered. The Vet team at Muddypaws are terrific! Cheesy kept getting UTIs because his prostate gland was inflamed. He went on antibiotics several times and we had to reschedule his procedure 3 times! Dr. Miller was great! He understood and accommodated our situation. Dr. Miller neutered Cheesecake on 11/13. Everything went well.

Upon receiving the dog the paperwork said the dog was 2 months older than the listing. I understand with rescue things are often not black and white. The first person I spoke to on the phone was very nice. I explained that I was a teacher and that we planned to schedule the spay as soon as my school year ended so I could be home to tend to the patient. She thought this was a great idea. Because we do not live in NY, we then did a virtual home interview. The woman who did this eval was rude and condescending. We felt like we were in trouble, or that our answers upset her. Ultimately she approved us, so there was no need for the hostile attitude. Once approved it was like they were in a race to get me to go pick up the dog. This was a sibling litter and the foster mom was overwhelmed, understandably. They approved us on a monday or tuesday. We wanted to pick up Thursday and she AGAIN gave us attitude. The foster mom was very pleasant and fine with a thursday pickup. Come to find out the other puppies werent leaving until the following week. On their website it says dogs are up to date for their age on vaccines. This was not the case with my girl. I asked if the rescue would be covering the cost of the rest of the series she had missed. I was told that it was my responsibility. I would have been fine with that if it had been mentioned at all prior to me requesting medical records. But then the real problems started. About two weeks after we got the puppy, now 6 months old, they called to set up the spay. The rescue agreement was they would cover the spay at a vet of their choosing. Fine. They chose a vet I wouldnt normally choose, but I understand they go where its cheapest. They insisted it be done immediately. I requested we wait 6 weeks until I would be home for the summer. They would not agree to that. I then gave several dates I was available. They called with a date and time that was not a date I had given. after some back and forth and rude replies from the rescue it was set up on a day that was very inconvenient for me, but that didn;t seem to matter to them in the least. The vats office offered to change it...they had plenty of availability! I didn't want to risk them refusing to pay because I didn't do as THEY said. The day of the spay when I went to pick her up after the procedure the vet tech was frustrated because she had been "yelled at all day by the rescue". Apparently the vet quoted the rescue a price, and it ended up being cheaper! However, despite it being cheaper than quoted, the rescue was mad the price was as high as it was. They were refusing to pay. The office manager had to get involved. At the end of the day they were refusing to answer their calls and had to be chased for payment. The poor young vet tech seemed upset. I told her about my frustration with dealing with them and we both agreed that Rescue Dogs Rocks NYC is not a company we would deal with ever again. Thank God I got the sweetest little girl out of this. She was worth dealing with their rude staff.

We had an outstanding experience adopting a pair of kittens from Des, the director of Uptown Cats…read more He can be found outside the Barnes & Nobles on 82nd and Broadway on (most) Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Check his website for details; he's pretty good at responding to e-mails and very good at answering phone calls. Des has been great since day 1 when we adopted the kittens. He keeps in frequent touch with us and helps ensure that our kittens stay healthy, up-to-date with their vaccinations and de-worming medicine. We could not have asked for a more supportive rescue director, and most importantly, it is apparent that Des truly loves cats, especially those in his care. I feel that commenting on V C.'s review is necessary because our experience stands in sharp contrast to her's. My partner and I also work long hours, and we disclosed this during the adoption process. Needless to say, Des treated us courteously and respectfully. He was happy to discuss with us the best methods for caring for kittens despite working outside the home for the majority of the day. So, had V C. perhaps explained her profession and its time commitment to Des, I am confident that her experience would have been vastly different.

I adopted my cat here in 2021. He has been my best friend ever since then. He was over 5 years old…read moreat the time of adoption and was said to be a stray. Because of his age the adoption fee was only $25. He was very skinny but had been with them for about a month- I just assumed he had gone through a stressful, difficult situation and he had been malnourished for a while. I took him home, and weeks later, after a near death experience it turned out he was diabetic and his weight despite a voracious appetite was due to not receiving insulin. His bloodwork was completely off- I don't know how the shelter would not have flagged this and done further testing, and if they knew, I'm not sure why they wouldn't disclose it. It might've made it nearly impossible to have him adopted, but it would be for his own safety and so that whoever adopted him would be capable of covering medical expenses and giving him proper care. I came to the assumption that he was probably dumped by a previous owner who couldn't care for him once he had the onset of diabetes, then the shelter may have known but didn't want to disclose it to get him adopted quicker. I think there needs to be better judgement and more comprehensive health measures. Regardless, 5 years later and maybe $7,025+ later I wouldn't have it any other way lol. I love him so much.
