(This story is from around 10 years ago. I'm writing it now because Yelp didn't exist then and I think my story really needs to be heard). I went to this dentist because my roommate was dating their dental hygienist or assistant. I figured that I could trust them more than the just any old random dentist out there. I hadn't been to the dentist in years so I wasn't sure of what to expect in terms of x-ray and visual inspection results. They told me that I had 10 or 11 cavities. I paid to have the first two drilled and filled. I was going to schedule more drilling when my mother decided to get me some insurance to cheapen the cost of everything. This new insurance didn't cover Roya's office, so I had to go elsewhere. I didn't tell this new dentist anything of the results from Roya's office. This new dentist told me that I had one cavity. Finally, I told him that I was supposed to have 8 or 9 left. He said "absolutely not." I decided to call the Roya's office and speak with the husband. He told me that determining cavities is up to the interpretation of the dentist and can vary from one dentist to another. I said "can they vary by 9 or 10?" After an extremely long pause on the phone, he replied "Yes." I could tell that he didn't believe what he was saying. If you decide to go with this office, have your "cavity determination" double checked with another office. And also, I just talked to my friend who was dating the hygienist there and he said that he had 10 cavities as well. I guess 10 is the magic number. Unfortunately for him, he paid to have all of them filled. If you've have cavities filled here, I would ask them for a copy of your x-rays and have a professional double check to see if everything is what they said. If it isn't, contact an attorney. read more
